  • "A very comfortable and well equipped little house in a great location for exploring the area around Poolewe."

We had a most enjoyable week at Church House. It had everything we needed including the best selection of maps and local guides that we have ever found in a holiday cottage. Jenny and Heather take great care of Church House and their guests and are quick to respond to any requests, questions or issues. The village shop is very well stocked and the staff there are another great source of local information.

Set in a quiet and secluded location but with local amenities a few minutes walk away. Inside is more spacious than you expect with all mod cons and a fully equipped kitchen. In fact the best that we have come across even down to cling film! The level of cleanliness throughout was excellent. There was a very comprehensive information pack as well as providing tea, coffee and some very nice shortbread biscuits. Jenny herself was very friendly both on line and face to face as she dropped in to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We had a wonderful relaxed and comfortable holiday. Scenery of the surrounding lochs was amazing. We are definitely going to book again for next year.

Spacious, well equipped and comfortable with an excellent welcome and information pack. From the time we booked, Jenny sent us friendly, informative and helpful communications. She also popped in to meet us and asked if anything was lacking. We mentioned a couple of minor things, which she acted on immediately. There is a small shop/post office with helpful staff just 2 minutes walk from the cottage. Inverewe Gardens NTS just under a mile around Loch Ewe were beautiful and there were various walks from Poolewe. A really lovely place to relax and enjoy Wester Ross.

Probably because of the location with surrounding hills. With incessant rain and no tv we decided to cut short our break 2 days early. While the cottage was comfortable the facilities (eg night storage heaters) were fairly basic and to charge circa £650 for the week - or in our case 5 days - was excessive.
