  • "- the stay was fine."

It was the accusations after. I paid a good amount of money to rent this property for the week and it was a busy stay. I took insurance out as when we stayed here before I knew glasses were broken when being placed in the sink. - we cleaned stripped the beds and towels and put them in the provided bag as asked. - accused of leaving a soaking wet towel that COULD of done damage to drawers, there was no damage. - the complaints from the cleaner after the stay were ridiculous. It was normal cleaning things that I may have missed but I was accused of things that weren’t true. The cleaner had to do her job yet complained about it. I was accused of breaking the blind but the roller had come off and I explained I did not want to make it worst and it was an easy fix. I was also accused of breaking the freezer which was untrue. I was accused of stealing glasses not asked about them accused. - I was accused of leaving rubbish across the garden, this did not happen. - accused of leaving a residue of powder on the coffee table - it was sand from shells and crystals my child had collected from the beach. - I asked my teenager to take the recycling out and he put it in the wrong bin, the cleaner made a complaint about this. - overall the stay was good but the attitude from the cleaner and owners was unacceptable. I was basically accused of trashing the place and ruining new bedding and I asked for photos and the tiny spot of a mark was sent to me from accidental spilt drink - again I had insurance for this.

  • "Very nice Holliday cottage, super equipped especially the kitchen."

Very close to a beautiful beach for walks and even swimming. We had a lovely stay and really enjoyed our week. The owners left us a starter packet (fresh bread, biscuits, sweets for the kid etc. ) what we found was absolutely outstanding. The beds were too soft for us, but it's hard to accommodate everyone's feelings. The bathroom and toilet are on the first floor, which can only be reached via a steep staircase. My mother, who was traveling with us, had a pretty hard time with it. It is therefore not suitable for people with limited mobility. In all, we can absolutely recommend this Holliday cottage and would definitely be happy to come back.

Great Welcome Pack which included treats for our dog. Lovely fenced garden which meant we could relax when Tully went out. Our personal disappointment was that the cottage needs some tlc, especially the bathroom. Damp patch on the ceiling in the downstairs twin room which I felt was soulless and didn’t use.

Hi Paul, thank you for your feedback. I do apologise for the damp in the twin bedroom. We are aware the property needs tlc and we intend to do this when quieter. I’m sorry for this and really hope it didn’t ruin your holiday. Thank you for booking with us. Property Owner

Every thing you need, very comfy and spotless. The beach was 5 minutes walk away and it was lovely. Maybe 15 minutes to walk into Banff, loads of amenities. Lots to drive to and see. The welcome pack was brilliant, for ourselves and dog. Sean and Victoria were fantastic hosts. If we come to the east coast of Scotland again will definitely stay again. Highly recommend. Thank you to you both!!!!

  • "Enjoyed our stay, comfortable; bed and lots of equipment in the kitchen and also supplies of food and drink much appreciated."

The landlord,(Sean) was happy to come round and teach us how to use the gas oven. Good WIFI, phone signal a bity iffy at times. Some suggestions/quibbles. Could do with a doormat at the back and front doors. Pan brushes would also help. As with some loft conversions. mine included, there can be a problem with people not seeing the bit of wall that hangs down in to the bedroom and forgetting to duck as I did, with painful consequences. I have done it myself in my own home and there is no easy answer. The inward opening doors left the bathroom and upstairs bedroom a bit cramped but you can't do much about that. There was slight shortage of hot water at time, just enough for a bath, but only just. The stairs were a bit narrow, steep and also winding at the bottom. I am quite fit and that didn't affect me but have been tricky for an eighty something. Otherwise pleasant stay.

For us who have dogs following the use of this cottage located in a beautiful area of the Scottish coast was the most exciting from the emotional point of view. The cottage is really exciting to experience it both internally and externally. I stop here with my comment because I do not know what else to add .... I, my wife and our dogs we hope one day to return to the Distillery for a new holiday by the sea in the north ....sorry for google translate....

Many thanks to the owners for the welcome pack and all the extras. Much appreciated. We had a great week and were sorry to leave. Two minutes to the beach with walks to Banff, Whitehills and beyond. Meals are availble at the pub, Galley restaurant and Rockfish chippy - all in Whitehills. We will return but not soon enough.

The welcome offered by the owners should be used as an example to others. In addition a great deal of thought has been put into the practicalities of the contents. For dog owners, the location is ideal as is the actual cottage itself.

The surrounding beaches are very clean, and the kids enjoyed body boarding at Sandend Beach as well as fishing for crabs at the harbour. We especially enjoyed our day out to Spey Bay to see the dolphins. The cottage itself is in the perfect location, and is beautifully well looked after, the welcome pack on our arrival was a very nice touch. Will definitely recommend to our family and friends.

The kitchen had tea, coffee, milk and bread to get us started, along with some nice extras for us and treats for our dog, which was a very nice touch, and more than met our expectations. This combined with the location, a 5 minute walk to a stunning beach and coastal walks, made for a great holiday. All in all I thoroughly recommend the cottage and will visit again.

  • "We found the cottage to be very clean and comfortable."

We appreciated the welcome pack for ourselves and our dog. The location was excellent and we all enjoyed our walks along the beautiful beach. Great restaurants and shops in Banff and Whitehills. The only point l would make is l think it should be made clearer in the description that the only bathroom is upstairs and that the stairs are quite difficult to negotiate, especially for an elderly person or young child.

  • "An absolute gem of a cottage."

In 30 years of staying in self catering cottages this has to be one of the most comfortable, well equipped and lovely cottages my wife and I have had the pleasure to stay in. Certainly the best of any of the ‘dog friendly’ cottages with dog treats, dog food bowls, new dog toys and dog towels supplied. We were aptly looked after by the kind owners with wine, chocolates, bread, milk, biscuits etc. A minor issue with an appliance was quickly rectified by the friendly owners. The cottages situation is only a couple of minutes walk from the fantastic beach which was immaculate with no litter or detritus. Brilliant walks for the dogs. Loads to see and do nearby. Would absolutely recommend this cottage; just fantastic!

  • "Great little beach cottage."

We were a party of 2 adults and two pre-teens and the property was perfect. The rooms are large enough and it had all the equipment we required for the week and was only a few minutes walk to the beach. Only negative comment is the shower in the bath is quite small so it was bathes for the children. It may not be suitable if the children are very young as the twin bedroom is downstairs with the other bedroom is upstairs but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage for slightly older children if a beach holiday is what you want, although, there are lots of other local attractions to keep everyone happy. Great welcome pack which was much appreciated. And we were surprised by the frequency of the buses for such a small village.
