It has everything and more. Sleep like a baby when I stay here. Had 1 setback about remote for the fire. Emailed Elizabeth and she rang back within 5 minutes explaing about it. Long story short it has manual controls. Lots of lovely walks near by. Take the walk from whitehills to Banff.....the beach is amazing. 20 out of 10 for this cottage and the area

Because my wife has mobility problems she found the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms a problem.Because the toilet was on the ground floor It was a particular drawback especially during the night. Apart from that we had a lovely relaxing holiday.

  • "It was a lovely little cottage to stay in, quite deceiving from the outside, as quite large inside."

It was warm and cosy and convenient for visiting my daughter who lives in Alvah. We would definitely visit the cottage again. We visited the seafield Arms 3 nights for drinks and once for food. The food was excellent and great choice of beers. Very helpful and friendly pub. We bought from the deli at the premier shop which was very nice, all within a few minutes walk from the cottage. The tin opener didn’t work so I had to ask a neighbour to open 2 tins of tuna for me. She was very obliging. We could only find 1 mirror in the bathroom, I would suggest maybe some mirrors in the bedrooms. Another benefit would be a mirror over the sink in bathroom as my husband struggled to bend down to use the small shaving mirror. Another benefit would be bath sheets in the bathroom as we are all tall people. The kitchen was stocked with useful condiments if needed.

The cottage is warm, the mattress is sooo good (never commented on mattress before) slept really well it is so quiet at night. The view from the window overlooking the sea was mesmerising and the sunsets stunning. This is such a comfortable place to stay. It was warm and cosy. We wanted for nothing. The local residents were smiley and friendly and there is a pottery in the village which is very special. This is a place to relax and forget about the stresses of life. Having a 9am check out was a bit of a rush but we would love to stay here again. Thank you.

Less than a minute to be at the water’s edge and a nice walk along the coast towards Banff. Circa 15 minute walk around coast to a very well equipped playground and sandy beach if you’re with children. Village is quiet and has a pub doing interesting local meals, a useful little shop for all your immediate needs and a nice fish and chip cafe with takeaway. Staying mid-May the light is still with you towards 10pm and some interesting bird life can often be seen around and about. I would happily recommend staying here for a peaceful and stress-free experience if that’s what you are looking for. David

The area is so peaceful it was the perfect escape. Really well equipped kitchen. Really clean property. My daughter and I struggled a bit though as the mattresses were memory foam...for many this is great...for us it just meant we were too warm and not firm enough. Three bedrooms is great but worth noting the third bedroom is very small and has the slope of the roof over your head. Owner is great and communicated really well...thank you!!
