  • "We really enjoyed our week’s stay at the Headland, the location is superb, and the property has been carefully modernised while at the same time retaining its character."

The coastal footpath is adjacent to the property with beautiful walks in both directions, we also spent a lot of time looking out of the windows at the wonderful view and spotting wildlife, we were fortunate to see dolphins.

  • "Three generations of us stayed this summer and it was the best Sykes cottage we've booked."

The description does not do justice to the lovely grounds and the accommodation was excellent for all ages. There was plenty of space even on rainy days and we loved walking down to the sea with our family kayak. When Mikey popped in he was very helpful with local information. We didn't want to leave at the end of the week. Thank you Mikey - hoping Elsa the dog is back to full health by now!

  • "We would like to thank Maurice and Mike for the stay in their amazing holiday cottage."

It is idyically placed against a picturesque backdrop and surroundings. The cottage has a warm welcoming feeling as you enter, with all the home comforts you need. The welcome basket is a touch of class, and we got to meet Maurice in person. Very friendly gentleman, who shared some background knowledge of the cottage and surrounding areas. Thank you. The grounds are very well presented with small trails throughout for adults and children to explore, and it is kept to a high standard, with ample parking. Should you chose you can follow the costal path, either from the garden or the small bay, either head toward Amlwch or the light house, for amazing views. Whilst we didn't have perfect weather, we made the most of what we had, getting 4 afternoons on various beaches, surrounded by coves and tranquil scenery. It'd been a pleasure staying here and we will definitely be returning for a longer period.

We had a wonderful stay, very relaxing, and definitely hope to return some time. The only real down side was that everything depended on the WIFI (telephone and TV) and it was not particularly speedy (especially when 4 of us were using it and the TV was on at the same time. I was concerned that there was no mobile phone signal as it wouldn't be possible to make an emergency call without walking a few hundred metres up the road. If you're not bothered about WIFI, TV and mobile phone signal then this property is perfect!

The house was really well equipped and the hosts left a lovely welcome basket. The wood burner made for cosy evenings and it was really useful meeting Mike who gave us lots of useful information about the property as well as places to visit. The beach was lovely & we were welcomed by the local open-water swimmers. I can imagine how the location changes in what it has to offer throughout the year & would love to visit back, if only we could find a suitable week that isn't already booked! You will not be disappointed in choosing The Headland & hope that any subsequent visitors enjoy it just as much as we did.

We had a wonderful Christmas at The Headland. The photos don't do it justice. There's plenty of grounds to explore and the beach access was ideal. There's a public footpath along the cliffside which a keen dog can easily access so just be aware if you've got an explorer. VERY comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. There was an decorated tree which was an unexpected and nice surprise. Owner called in a few times to check we're OK and ask if we needed anything. Very peaceful and just what we needed. Amazing location, the view, the natural and abundant gardens and the peace and quiet. We stay in cottages throughout the UK and my only 'moan' is that there is usually a Winter duvet on the beds, even in Summer. This leads us to bringing a light quilt with us now or having difficulties sleeping, which is the last thing you want to experience on holiday. I'm delighted with the Owners of The Headland because they have 2 x light Summer quilts on the bed, so, you actually have a choice. Well done !! I'd be grateful if more of the properties did the same. The beds were sooo comfortable!!

We found ourselves mesmerised by the view from the house and garden….feeling part of the passage of the days and tides by gazing at the amazing view of the bay and the lighthouse. My husband painted the scene in different light and weather. We also wondered around the bay to the bench on the other side of the bay looking back at the bungalow and sunset each evening. Gadget the seal was very interested in us….greeting us on our first morning below the garden and keeping a close eye on our fishing antics! Thank you for the kind welcome gifts and super tomatoes! The main shower room was excellent for my mother who has mobility problems & the picture windows in the lounge gives you access to the view no matter what the weather is like outside. What can I say about the garden, but ‘Wow’. Our little Jack Russell enjoyed exploring the 5 acres as did we. Remember to walk through the archway, at the side of the house and past the sundial and you will find an abundance of trees, a terraced garden, a multitude of fabulous bushes & flowers and the odd hidden statue. The Large kitchen/Diner is very well equipped with up to the minute facilities. The lounge has large picture windows which afford views of the bay and coastline.
