  This was the first time we had met the lady who owns the house, and it was a pleasure, as it’s a house with extra touches, and all down to her. The panoramic view to the mountains with the the Menai Straits between is ever moving, and different every day.

  If it is a relaxing holiday you need this is just right. If it a holiday with kids beach and town is an easy walk. Would definitely stay again.

• "Return visit from last year and a joy to be back."

  Property was clean and comfortable and very quietly situated in an idyllic location with unbeatable views. Facilities and accommodation were excellent. Our only concern was the omission of a safety mat in the bath/ shower which made the bath floor dangerously slippy and necessitated the immediate on-line purchase of our own as we sometimes have mobility issues. This in no way spoilt our stay and we have rebooked for 2025. Patricia, the owner, called to see us and brought some of her plum jam……a real treat! Thankyou.

• "As always we enjoyed our stay at Camlan…."

  . (and never get tired of the view from the window towards Beaumaris and over the Menai Straits towards Snowdonia). Mr & Mrs Hughes called in - as always - and asked how we were settling in and any issues, (good to catch up and have a chat). We were surprised at how much ‘organising of the running of the property’ has to be done by the owners - and isn’t included in the agents fee to Sykes. Looking forward - already - to our next visit to Camlan, - a real ‘home from home’. Martyn & Mandy.

• "After several visits to Camlan, I was tempted to say that I would not recommend the property to anyone!"

  Only because the more people who are choosing to book means there is less likelihood of “our” weeks being available! We had a very relaxing holiday,in a very comfortable, warm home. However, for me the main draw is the lounge,with its picture windows and ever changing views over the straits to the hills beyond. Heaven ! Christine Mills.

• "After staying at this property last year we made the decision never to book with Sykes again."

  A complaint was made on our return regarding the drain collapsing and the continuous hassle we had. Mopping all the water up ourselves from the owners dehumidifier which was leaking and no PAT tested sticker on it. The second toilet could not be used. I believe the owner had said it was blocked drains which we can guarantee it wasn’t as the builder told us it had collapsed. Our reply from Sykes was not acceptable. No sorry or good will gesture. Very poor customer service.

  We are sorry for any inconvenience but contractors did dig up the drains and found that they were blocked. There haven't been any problems since. Property Owner

• "Shower is hard to access if you have mobility problems, other than that we have always loved our stays."

• "Hi, Great property, very spacious and had everything we needed."

  Very warm, comfy beds. Could do with a 2nd bathroom and the garden to be secured ( eg gates on the sides) for dogs. But these are only minor issues. The views and location are the best in Beaumaris. Stayed with my elderly mum, she loved it. Owner was lovely and very accommodating. Highly recommend

  The property however whilst comfortable is very dated. It needs a new kitchen and the general furniture and furnishings need updating to warrant the rental cost

• "A comfortable, clean and cosy home with superb views of the menai straight."

  This was our second visit within 18 months and the facilities did not disappoint. The property is ideally located to the town and the shopping facilities for food, papers, fish and chips (and ice cream) are excellent. We shall definitely return should the property be available to rent in the future. Albeit VERY minor criticisms, the kitchen upper cupboard doors require rehanging as they are somewhat sagging and additional toilet rolls and bin liners for the tall peddle bin would be very welcome.

  The location is amazing with views across the straights from the sitting room , patio and terrace, with the added advantage of being just a few minutes walk away from Beaumaris town centre. One very minor criticism was there were not many dishwasher tablets or bin bags left.

  Camlan is a very comfortable cottage, very well equipped including the benefit of a utility room. It's in a fantastic location with brilliant views that are ever changing. It was lovely being able to sit outside and have breakfast in March in the shelter patio area taking in the view. Would highly recommend.

• "The location was superb, 5 minutes walk to all the amenities Beaumaris has to offer."

  The cottage itself very clean, warm and had all the equipment to ensure we had a very comfortable stay and the views were amazing. The beds were so comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful. We had one small issue turning the shower on but we e-mailed the owner and they replied immediately and it is just a bit stiff. We couldn’t fault it at all and the gift of wine and biscuits was gratefully received. The garden was also lovely and would be great for BBQ’s in warmer weather. Plenty of garden furniture too.

• "The property was exceptionally located to provide superb views of the menai straight from the rear garden and lounge window whilst enabling a very short walk into the town."

  Notwithstanding that the property was cleaned to a high standard, furnishing, including the sleeping accommodation was very comfortable. The provision of a bottle of wine, associated shortbread and differing expresso coffees was a welcome gesture upon arrival. Albeit a very minor point, the holiday description failed to mention the availability of a DVD player (a useful alternative to boring evening television), hence the reduced score for accuracy of listing. The family, including the golden retriever had a wonderful enjoyable stay in a well presented property.

  The lounge chairs and sofas are so comfortable, and provide beautiful and ever changing views from the picture windows. It more than lives up to expectations. Owners thoughtful and so considerate. Warm, well equipped, comfy beds, spotlessly clean....what more could you want. Sadly Covid meant we had only one of our two weeks, but both owner and Menai holiday staff were so helpful.   Fabulous views from the lounge over the sea! Because we are quite elderly, some external lighting at the back would be a help when taking out the dog on the lawn! The solar lights helped with a torch. We will definitely book Camlan again! Fabulous holiday! Thankyou

  the view was constantly changing, it was gorgeous. the bungalow was very well fitted out and very comfortable. my one little grouse being the sole male among five females, the bathroom. a second one would have been nice with our party of six.

• "Wow! the best cottage we have had the pleasure to stay in."

  The view from the lounge was absolutely stunning! For the rest of our stay we loved to watch the boats on the Menai Straits and found it so relaxing and peaceful. The bungalow was spotlessly clean and very spacious. With 4 children we liked the secure gate at the bottom of the garden which enabled us a short cut to walk into Beaumaris. The facilities were excellent and Mr & Mrs Hughes, the owners, came to say hello and check everything was fine.Would love to stay here again in the not too distant future.

  Mrs Hughes is lovely Lady, who always takes the time to call to see if things are ok. Clean, great location, grandchildren love the big garden, views to die for and the lockable door at the bottom of the garden means its only a short walk to the town centre, when the tides in it's like being on a ship if you sit in the living room with a good book and look up.

Could do with a good none stick frying pan. Some large mugs for tea would be nice. But all that said all minor points we had a great stay and have booked for next year. Would highly recommend.
