  • "I chose Casita as it was close to the beach for the dog."

The only let down was the garden being unsuitable to use, unless you are a mountain goat. The steps are far too deep and without a hand rail. We couldn’t work the microwave, but we mostly ate out so it was not a problem for us. Maybe some instructions would have solved that. Everything else that we needed was there. The downstairs bed was very comfortable. Lovely towels and large shower cubicle. Would consider returning.

This could also cause damage to tyres and suspension of a car. In addition, access to the front door, from the driveway, was impeded by a large overgrown plant. Furthermore the front gate didn’t close properly. The parasol had algae, chips to plates and glasses. Suffice to say the property is not worth the £1500+ I paid. I have rented holiday homes from other companies, including Sykes, a welcome pack was always provided, however not on this occasion. I have photographs of hazards mentioned in this feedback. Very disappointed!

Very clean and spacious. As a party of 6 (2 adults & 4 kids (16,16,10 & 9)) & 2 dogs we had ample space in the bedrooms and living area. The garden was lovely. The dogs had a great time exploring. The kitchen is a good size but could use more cutlery, cups & and crockery. We didn't want to put the dishwasher on until completely full and found we regularly had to wash up which defeats trying to save energy as we needed to heat the water! Not a big issue more an observation. The only negative to our stay was the drains outside. They are blocked and they water that washes back into the lower garden after showering is very unpleasant as it stands it becomes smelly and the dogs walk it back into the house. The location is great for walks and an easy to walk to the beach. All in all a very pleasant few days was had and we can definitely recommend.

  • "Just to let you know that the drain at the back of Casita is blocked which means that the area at the back floods every time someone has a bath or shower."

Also the bath plug release mechanism isn't working. We had to use a plunger and. Knife to release it! The decking and some of the concrete in the garden can be very slippy after rain. Maybe a power wash is needed? Otherwise we had a good time and enjoyed our stay.

Benllech has plenty to offer for a short break. We were a party of four, the lounge is on the small side but you could reconfigure the chairs and there’s a spare armchair in the dining room for more people. Bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely, would benefit from a separate toilet upstairs. Lovely garden for the summer months and the dining room is pleasant. View of the sea in the distance.

We had to wash the crockery , cutlery before use … a bowl was actually stuck to a plate as it had not previously been washed properly!! Some of the glasses , crockery had chips and there wasn’t enough of them e.g there were only 4 wine glasses when the property sleeps 8 therefore in my mind they should have been replaced/ checked ready for the next rental. There were many cobwebs, I understand that it is an old property but these were really big cobwebs especially in the upstairs main bathroom and in the lounge. Generally the place could have been a lot cleaner. At £850 for 2 nights - this is not a cheap holiday let therefore standards should be a lot higher. The carpet in the upstairs twin room had lifted from the door strip which I actually tripped on!! The plug/plug board in the upstairs en suite double room was thick in dust!! The cottage in general is in need of a lot of care and attention.

The bungalow was very comfortable and cleaned to a high standard. We had read a previous review which would have put us off if we had read it prior to booking…this negative review bore no relation to our experience, I think almost all the problems they encountered must have been fixed. There was even a small counter top freezer which was a very welcome addition. The only problem we encountered was that the shower head in the downstairs bathroom slid down the pole and had to be held by tape; I think this would be simple to fix. We did several fairly local walks, Bull Bay to Porth Wen, round to Traeth Coch, along the cliffs at Moelfre and the beach at Rhosneigr but the weather closed in on the last day and we drove home through Storm Babet. We would loved our stay and would thoroughly recommend Casita

  • "Despite the fantastic location and potential of the house, we were left really disappointed by our stay at Casita."

Our holiday did not have the most auspicious start - as we arrived we received an email to say the dishwasher was out of action and we could see the outside bin was overflowing with unbagged rubbish, cardboard and broken glass. When we got inside the first thing we saw was the pedal to the indoor bin sat on top of it and dry dog food on the floor and counter top! Moreover we realised that we couldn't lock the porch door which would allow easy access to the main road for our inquisitive toddler - to be fair to Menai Cottages they sent someone out quickly who set about a temporary solution for this, but sadly there was no solution for the bin other than to await it's being emptied on the Wednesday. This meant we had to store all our rubbish in the hallway as there was no alternative space or bin. The house was generally clean and tidy, although the fridge had all water at the bottom which I had to mop up several times over the course of the week. The beds were comfortable and clean, but the sofas were not sadly and this meant only two people could sit in the living room in the evening. Overall the house needs some attention - paint was literally peeling off the banisters, the downstairs shower had to be cellotaped to stay upright, the laminate flooring in the hallway is not fixed on the threshold of the dining room so continually had to be put back in place and the gripper has come away on the hallway carpet into one of the bedrooms. I tripped on this several times so would hate someone to sustain a more serious injury. The kitchen, whilst spacious is actually impractical and ill equipped. The sparse amount of cups and crockery is difficult to reach in a daft corner cupboard and a lot of it was chipped. The blind cords were impossible to reach so the blinds were pointless. There were no oven gloves so we had to buy some along with more tea towels as the one provided was not enough, especially with the dishwasher out of action all week. The frying pan was not big enough for a family of 6, all the pegs on the washing line were rotten and the knives were useless even once sharpened. All of these things, though seemingly trivial could be easily remedied by a quick visit to Wilko (maybe not) or Argos and were not up to the standard of previous cottages we have stayed in through Sykes. I really wanted to like this house, but it just failed to deliver. I feel the owners need to spend some time, money and attention on it to allow it to fulfill it's potential.

The house was quite cold when we arrived but once it warmed up it stayed warm, so warm that there were times when we had to turn off the heating altogether for a while. The two double bedrooms are a generous size, as are the bathrooms, but I'd be happier if the beds were larger. There is now a dishwasher & washer/drier in the kitchen, although not both being mentioned or shown in the property details & photos. The location is ideal, being around five mins walk to the beach in one direction & five'ish minutes to The Breeze Bar & Hotel, & the high street, in the other. We were really pleased with the generous Christmas gift that had been left for us, complete with wine, chutney, shortbread, top quality crackers & dog treats - thank you, very much appreciated. The property had pretty much everything that we needed but would definitely be improved by a large smart TV mounted higher up the wall, more comfortable chairs/sofas & a larger fridge with a freezer. It would also have been beneficial for us to have been provided with a tea towel & some disposable cloths for the kitchen.

Disappointed there was no freezer as my dog has frozen fish diet defrosted each day. Even a small counter top freezer would be ideal. We couldn’t get the tv remote to work…could be something we were doing wrong?! It wasn’t the batteries as we tried some different ones in it but still no joy. Excellent Sky internet signal at the property. It was strong and consistent. The beds were clean and comfortable and we both slept well. Lovely new bathrooms each with Mira showers in which had a good flow and hot water. Garden was steep and very overgrown in places but once up on the top lawn the views were fabulous. We knew the garden was steep and were able to access it, however it could do with a rail, especially for climbing down. The bush by the little boat seat needs a big trim as only one person could squeeze on to it to sit!! Maybe some more up to date photos of the property would be appropriate. The space in the cottage worked well for us including the outside space with 2 dogs. We struggled to find the key when we arrived as it was dark (6pm arrival time) and the lack of lighting down the side of the property proved difficult when unloading the car. It was also difficult knowing to use the back door with the front door being double locked. It would be helpful if the arrival instructions told you this. The property was not very clean and I had to clean the bathrooms before we could use them - one basin still had toothpaste on it. The kitchen equally had to be cleaned and much of the crockery and cutlery needed to be washed before use. The twin beds were also dirty on the bed frame which was really off putting. With having children and dogs it was necessary to clean the floors each day and the hoover was broken / blocked so it would not pick anything up. We used the dustpan and brush in the end. With 5 adults and 2 children the furniture in the lounge was also a little on the small side. Thankfully we still had an amazing time Thankfully this didn't

Thank you very much for leaving feedback for your stay at Casita, we appreciate you taking the time to do it. We have taken on board your comments regarding lights near the keysafe, and we have amended the arrival instructions to make it clearer which door is best to enter through. However the view from the top is ace and a great place for the morning cuppa. As we were the first to stay following the relaxation of the covid rules it took the first night to warm the house up. Once warm it was easy to keep comfortable. The ensuite shower is not for tall or large people, however there is an excellent and roomy shower in the downstairs bathroom. • "The position of the property is it’s only saving grace."

It says parking for two cars - I don’t see how that’s possible to actually get them in Information on the property and phone numbers - we couldn’t find the book on the property for most of the holiday as it had been put under a chair seat Internet - this doesn’t work. Got someone out and it worked for a couple of hours then stopped again. We did without as not a priority on this holiday and didn’t want the hassle of waiting on the phone for ages before we got an answer and then waiting for someone to come back again Kitchen - the fridge is too small. We had to wash all the cutlery and pottery as wasn’t clean. It needs a dish washer Garden - pretty garden but not very safe for dogs or kids as the layers aren’t very clear with all the shrubbery Bathrooms were good and there were plenty Towels - we only got bath towels in our room - no hand towels

  • "Great house to spend the week in, great it’s so close to the beach and lovely garden to enjoy the evenings in."

We were very lucky with the weather so not much time spent indoors. The description advertised that there was WiFi, this didn’t seem to be the case. Overall we would recommend.

  • "Great location and plenty of space for our family holiday."

The bathrooms were particularly good and the beds were comfortable. The garden was slightly steeper than we anticipated but great views once up there. Would benefit from a larger fridge and a dishwasher but overall we would return to casita.

15 pm there was rubbish all over the front of the property the cleaners arrived at 3.45pm they worked hard to try and clean the inside of the bungalow it was disgrace. they said they would contact someone to come and remove the rubbish. We waited 2 days then we saw rats in the rubbish so i had to go out and clean the rubbish up myself. My farther in law who is 87 said he could not cope so on the monday i had to take him all the way home and arrange someone to come and look after him. I did ring ring your office to let you know about this. We have always had a good holiday with you but this one was a disapointment we left the property cleaner than when we went in even the cleaners said it was dirty. We understand its not your fault but it spoilt our holiday. mr d etchells

We never went anywhere else on the island as the two dogs enjoyed the beach and so we stayed. Nice cottage in a brilliant location!

  • "Good location, very close to the beach."

Well presented, especially the bathrooms. Fabulous view of Benllech beach from the top of the garden. A dishwasher would be an advantageous addition to the kitchen. There were quite a few squeaky floorboards both on the stairs and along the landing, which you had to get used to. We had lovely weather which made our break even more enjoyable.
