• "Location spot on 10/10 Parking 10/10 Property 8/10 Facilities 8/10 Cleanliness 9/10 (external let it down) Property is as described although smaller than expected, for me the kitchen has too many appliances , 1 kettle 2 coffee machines 4 slice toaster T/C/S barrels they take up all of the worktop space if you were on a S/C break, less is more."

  The kitchen is fine but in need of a little maintenance some of the draw fronts are loose you have to be careful opening and closing them the washing machine front was already off, easy fix, plenty utensils pans trays etc , couch and bed are very comfy better sleep than at home

• "Had small issue with neighbours dogs barking which David the owner quickly resolved."

  Cottage is nice size for 2 people and pets. All patio is enclosed for privacy and security for your dogs with an extra bolt on inside of gate. The hot tub is to die for. Loved it and booked again for next year. Great communication with David the owner.

• "What a lovely place, small yes, but suited our every need wonderful."

  DJ & Lee were brilliant any problem, however small they sorted, not that there was many. Cemaes Bay as well is a brilliant base for any travels, it's also a nice place to walk around and enjoy the area. The harbour pub gave us a cracking meal and great drinks and vey friendly service. A very enjoyable holiday from start to finish.

• "It was nice to be able to take our 2 dogs."

  The kitchen was fine but it could do with a new kettle. Living and sleeping are small but fine. Bathroom also fine too. Unfortunately you can hear everything your neighbours do in the bathroom (quite clearly) and the bedroom above noises can be interesting to say the least but I guess there's not much that can be done about that as they are on their holiday's too.... soundproofing the walls and ceiling is all I could come up with.

• "Accommodation smaller than we expected however it was very clean and comfortable with everything you need."

  Ideally placed at the top of the village with shops chippy and a lovely pub (Stag) all within walking distance as are the various walks around the coast and a 15min walk to the Bay view restaurant which is excellent. We would highly recommend this for couples looking for a short break in the beautiful area of North Wales.

• "We enjoyed a very peaceful and relaxing few days at Smithy Cottage."

  The owner was always at hand if needed and lived close by in case of any emergencies if any arose but they didn't. Great facilities and the large bubbling hot tub was very welcome even on the coolest of nights. Will definitely recommend this place for couples who just want an enjoyable and relaxing break away. Great local pub and award winning chippy nearby.

  So close to everything yet still quiet and relaxing. Had everything you could need inside. This is our 3rd mini dog brake this place tops every other cottage we have stayed in absolutely recommend.   It has everything you could need and DJ the owner is fantastic and if you require any help he is on it straight away. The location is perfect and just a short walk into the village with a great pub the Stag and the lovely beaches. • "Loose toilet seat."

  Black mould in shower. Knackered settee, very uncomfortable. Curtains dirty at the bottom. Very noisy from adjoining house. Doesn't show in photos that one of their bedrooms is over our bed and they had creaky floors. Also toilet noise from next door. Photos also do not show how close property is to a busy road. Hot tub not relaxing with traffic noise and people passing close by.

  Having contacted you and provided you with our telephone numbers', it was disappointing to read your comments - particularly as you did not notify us of any issue(s) during your stay. We had asked you if everything was OK, but you did not reply and we did not hear anything from you during your stay. Sadly, if we do not know there is an issue, we cannot help. We informed you that we live very close by. Smithy Cottage has received many positive comments which have been provided by guests who have stayed with us. You only have to read the reviews to see that the hot tub gets rave reviews. The road you mention is a minor road which takes you into the village. We have spoken to you this morning and it quickly became evident that you had booked a cottage which was not ideally suited to your specific needs. That's a shame as we have 5 other properties in the village and had we known there was an issue, we might have been able to help. Property Owner

• "Perfect little cottage for a break, a little bit too much stuff for the size however it has everything and more you need."

  Only thing I would say on a slight negative review is maybe the hottub could do with a awing so it can be used come rain or shine. Apart from that very clean, perfect location, beautiful yard for dogs. David the owner is awesome and will to help with anything you need. The stags pub is very friendly and allow dogs, The harbour do a good Sunday lunch and also allow dogs and the bell cafe has some beautiful coffee and cake. We fell in love with Cemaes Bay and will definitely be returning. Thank you David for everything

• "Smithy Cottage was completely perfect in so many ways."

  1. It's dog friendly. 2. It was a good suze for two people. 3. It was lovely and warm and cosy. 4. The bed was very comfortable with a gorgeous duvet. 5. The cottage was in a very good and clean condition. 6. The cottage was so well equipped with heaters, a fan, a hairdryer, a large fridge freezer and a washing machine as well as many other useful items. 7. A lovely hot tub in a fully enclosed private courtyard. It was so very lovely to receive a birthday card and a bottle of Prosecco, a special touch.

• "We spent together a week at the cottage exploring Angelsey and it's lovely beaches, which would be amazing on a nice sunny day but we can't have everything."

  The studio was spotlessly clean and comfortable. We cooked most evenings was really pleasantly surprised at how well equipped the studio was. The kitchen and bathroom are beginning to look a little tired, however don't let that put you off. The hot tub was fabulous, a lovely treat at the end of the day. A nice touch was the owner contacting us on arrival to ensure everything was fine and being on hand if we needed anything.

• "This property is very small!"

  However it is well equipped with everything you might need and the owner has been creative with the space available. It is very clean and modern. The bed and sofa are very comfortable and although there were storms raging outdoors we were always warm and cosy. The hot tub is great for relaxing in. Although storm Eunice didn’t stop us getting in it every day, a permanent gazebo fixture around it would truly make it an all weather accessory. The property has a fantastic location with only a few minutes walk to the beach, river walk and coastal paths. The owner was friendly and helpful and available on the phone for any queries. We spent 4 very happy nights here with our dog.

  We are delighted that (despite Storm Eunice) you enjoyed our lovely cottage and all that it had to offer. We have certainly considered gazebo-style covers but decided against. This is because they tend to flap in the wind and (being and island) we do get winds from time to time. Gazebos also limit stargazing and given how clear our sky's are and the distinct lack of light pollution, we have tended not to install them. Property Owner

• "Had a nice break just a couple of bits to be aware of."

  You can hear EVERY bit of noise from the adjoining accommodation, hot tub is on the main road it is private but you do get a lot of road noise, no hot water for the last night and check out morning which ended our break on a slightly bad note. Other than that the accommodation was clean and has everything you need for a break away.

• "Everything about Smithy Cottage was brilliant."

  I had a fantastic week here and my two elderly dogs felt very much at home. The hot tube was extremely clean, as was the annexe. Everything was clean and I couldn’t want for any kitchen gadgets. It was fully stocked. The accommodation was about 300 metres from the cute harbour and beach. David, the owner was very helpful and friendly. I would thoroughly recommend this property to individuals or couples.

  Cottage in a great position for walks and access to the village including two very dog friendly pubs, the Stag and the Harbour. Picturesque Harbour only a short walk. David the owner very helpful, friendly and accommodating even gave us both a card and present when he discovered we were hollidaying on our Birthdays that week. Slight problem with the shower head being loose but would definitely return and loved our week away.

• "We had a 3 night break at Smithy Cottage and enjoyed every minute."

  The communication ahead of our arrival was spot on and the cottage had been heated in advance of our arrival, which was much appreciated for a December stay! The facilities were lovely and functional and the hot tub was fantastic. Although a lot of the local area was closed due to restrictions this didn’t impact at all, the local area is so beautiful and the walk down to the beach is quick and scenic. Would definitely return in the future!

  It was beautifully furnished, adequately equipped for two and the bed was really comfy. I felt safe inside the locked courtyard and a screen across the overlooking windows made the hot tub area private. Cemaes village is small but has everything you need for an enjoyable weekend with stunning scenery and some beautiful walks. Really relaxing break.

  And was lively to stay in. Nothing wrong with it at all. And was within walking distance to anything and everything you needed, shops pubs restaurants. The only thing I was a little put off buy was the position of the hot tub. As it was right underneath nextdoors window. So didnt feel very private. But all in all very lovely stay. And wish we had longer there

• "The cottage was really cosy , the small heaters are all you need in there and the place warms up so fast !"

  . Everything is super modern and more than you’d expect . The fridge and freezer was a little noisy and the odd sound from the next door but really you barely notice them. The place was nice and private for the most part the hot hub maybe could use a bit more privacy but all in all it was lovely with being only a few minutes walk to amazing walks and even better views . Only massive downside to the whole experience wasn’t anything to do with the cottage but the shop in the village ! I advise everyone to bring everything you need to eat and drink as that shop it crazy pricey ! Even so would 100% recommend this lovely little cottage for a nice get-away

The cooker hood needed cleaning, the TV in the bedroom didn't work, and the toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall, plus the extractor fan in the bathroom needed a good clean. My husband cleaned the cooker hood and vacced the premises before we left, but would have expected the cottage to have been cleaned to a better standard.

  The property parking is round corner at other rental cottage, the double gates to property are in poor repair,leaving you struggling to get in and out and leaving you unable to park your car at your rental cottage. The walls are paper thin allowing you to here the occupants next door and loud creaking floor boards above sleeping area.the shower dripped, property was extremely hot, due to the fact we could only leave bathroom window open. Privacy is very poor, sit in the jacuzzi and your right next to the pavement , with loads of road noise and people walking passed able to see you. Having double patio doors allows passers-by to see in ,we had the curtains closed the whole time of our stay. Rubbish was left in bin bags on the patio the whole week and finally when you read the listing it implies that there are double doors to the bedroom which there are not. Poor information pack and no visitors book.... I wonder why!!!! Really would not recommend this property.

  We were disappointed by your feedback. Many of the comments raised could have been resolved promptly during your stay had we known about them prior to your stay ending. We have a dedicated team who deal with any mid stay issues. We also satisfy around 150 bookings per year and this cottage is hugely popular. Your feedback is very out of character for us generally. We would have appreciated the chance to rectify these points while you were there but, sadly, you did not provide that opportunity. Property Owner

• "The cottage is lovely, perfect for 2 people."

  Just the right size. Hot tub is great, however it is on the patio which is on a main road. There is a fence but it could be a little more private with some hedges/bushes as the gate is lower than the fence and you can see people walk by. The kitchen is well equipped and the place is generally really comfortable. Cemaes Bay is lovely, only wish the weather had been better so we could explore more!

  The noise from the adjoining property was disturbing i.e. Creaking floorboards water running noises and the parking facilities were disappointing as we couldn't park in front of the property we were hiring. The welcome pack was generous and appreciated.

  Perfect for location. David was very helpful and welcoming. Loved the hot tub it was spotless and well kept. Only downfall was the locals who didn't want us there but it didn't spoil it for us. The beach and surroundings are really beautiful. And the coastal walks were amazing. We would highly recommend this lovely smithy cottage.

• "A little disappointed on how small Smithy cottage actually was, and the amount of hairs we found on the floor and even in the fridge upon our arrival."

  No welcome pack, like we had read in other reviews either. Hot tub was fab, but this is in the front garden and is not very private. Unfortunately Smithy cottage is an extension on to another cottage which is rented out and the wall is paper thin, every morning we were woken up at 6.30am by the people staying there visiting the bathroom, you can hear everything - taps turning, chain flushing and everything else that happens in the bathroom! Every door that is shut you can hear and the floorboards above also very noisy. For this reason we actually left a day early, so take note that you are attached to another rented property. Cemaes is a quiet village, but lovely if you just want to escape.

  Home from home, and very welcoming. Perfect walking distance of the beach and pubs. Our dog absolutely loved it, plenty of dog friendly pubs within walking distance or a short drive away. Great location for exploring angelsea will definitely be returning. Just what we needed for a relaxing week away !

  Not suitable for those 50+ as sofa although comfy too low. Bed much too low. Winter let tings need more that an oil filled radiator to heat the place. Takes too long to get warm. Facilities were good the kitchen had everything you would need. Easy to find and close to village shops, pubs & beach
