  A massive relief to stay in a cottage with a 100% ‘Toby Proof’ garden, our Houdini-like Jack Russell/Terrier X. Sleeper Cottage is very well equipped, with an amazingly comfortable bed from where you can look out onto the lovely garden. Gina, thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your wonderful cottage once again (3rd visit). We can’t wait to visit again sometime in the near future.

• "The property had everything we needed with a garden that would be lovely to use in the Summer."

  Unfortunately the weather wasn't great when we went so we could not make the best use of it. We had beeb before at New year so knew the area but in truth everything is a drive away. Lastly we did have a misunderstanding with the owner who lives next door as our friends who were staying with us were charging their hybrid car. They should have asked to do this but as it would only cost £3.50 they thought it would be OK. The ownrr came round and told them to take it out IMMEDIATELY which they did. I have noticed that the property now says no car charging. Our friends realised that they were in the wrong and should have asked.

  Thankyou for your comments. The sykes owner relations team were contacted firstly for guidance on how best to address the situation. Charging your electric car through a kitchen window is a owners nightmare putting aside the cost which is immaterial the fire risk and health and safety is greatly increased. Even when i approached yourself you said you were unaware there was a cable hanging out of the kitchen window charging the car. I would recommend that you request any owners permission first. Secondly i have suggested that sykes address these concerns as clearly more guests will have electric cars. I would further add that all electrical equipment in the property is PAT tested for your safety and as a legal requirement. was the charging cable PAT tested ?? I hope this elevates the concerns raised . Regards Property Owner

  Plenty of crockery and cutlery which is a must when having a dishwasher. We've stayed in so many properties where only 4 of everything is provided which defeats the object of filling a dishwasher. Loved sitting in the beautiful garden in the early evening with a g & t, will certainly stay here again.

• "Lovely secure grounds for dogs."

  However, from the first day the tv was not working. After one failed visit several phone calls and texts were ignored by the owner. Anyone with mobility issues should not use the stairs, also there are trip hazards in the lounge due to different level floors. One of the toilet seats broke away due to rusted hinges. On one occasion when the upstairs shower was used, water seeped into the kitchen. The whole cottage gave the impression of being poorly maintained.

  Dear Customer Thankyou for your feedback the tv wasn't working? I did respond and send someone out to the property to turn the tv on for you however when they got there you were out, and as a owner I and my support for the property will not enter the property when the guests are out. subsequent calls were broken due to the bad signal, also times that calls were made when I myself was in work and unable to take the call. Trip hazards in the lounge? there is one step where the tiles meet the carpet is that a trip hazard? Toilet seat broken and rusted? The property is cleaned and inspected every change over and anything that is not right for the incoming customer is fixed and put right.   Our dogs enjoyed exploring the garden and sun bathing in the hot sun we had all week. We met local people both in the village and on Anglesey many of whom had water out and the wonderful coffee shop called the Shed in Benllech where they each got half a sausage on each visit. We would recommend Sleepers Cottage to anyone who has more than one dog, if only Sykes had been anyway close to it!!!

  The garden here is stunning with all of its hidden charms and separate areas that mean that both we and the dogs had plenty to explore. The property is so dog friendly and the secure garden really does put your mind at rest. The kitchen is so well supplied with every possible appliance that it really is like a home kitchen and the cosy living room is so relaxing. We can’t wait to come back next year!

  A lovely cottage tucked away in the peaceful village of Gwalchmai. Without doubt the most well equipped cottage we have ever stayed in, the kitchen utensils are superb. Extremely comfortable and clean, but the real gem is the garden, 100% secure, even our Jack Russell/Yorkie cross Toby (aka Houdini) couldn’t escape! It’s such a relief to be able to open the door and relax in the knowledge that your dogs are safe. Thanks so much Gina for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cottage again, we’re looking at booking again for next year, to explore more of amazing Anglesey.   Good Wi-Fi which actually works, it very often doesn’t in holiday cottages. The apps on the tv didn’t work and neither did the youview box, which normally wouldn’t be an issue but we didn’t have great weather so had to spend more time than we would have liked indoors. A smart tv would be good for for rainy days or evenings after being out all day. Overall a great cottage and we would definitely stay again.

• "Stayed at Sleeper Cottage over New Year 2022/23 and it was an Excellent Cottage Very Well kitted Out and Clean complete with a log/coal fire, Nice quiet location within village but easy access to rest of Anglesey and with well stocked local store and a pub."

  Gina was very quick and pro active in helping sort a slight problem with the heating, contacting and arranging an engineer at very short notice who attended and sorted the problem, in the interim Gina supplied electric heaters and stayed in contact until the engineer had attended. Gina couldn't have been more helpful. I would totally recommend this cottage. Ian D.

  Sleeper Cottage was top class place to stay, particularly with plenty of room for our 2 dogs. It was ideal for getting anywhere on Anglesey in no time at all. The local pub is very nice with a friendly landlord who makes you feel welcome.   The garden would be nice to use in summer but it's not a home you want to snuggle up in on a cold, wet day as the lounge is very "closed in". No complaints but we wouldn't go back again. Mainly due to the location.

  The cottage is centrally located on the island which many guests have welcomed to explore the whole island. The cottage is also a traditional welsh cottage which in itself is homely and well catered for on the cold winter nights .. open fire fully equipped kitchen.   Well equipped in a convenient area. Lovely large landscaped garden. Some aspects which could be improved - No WiFi in the lounge or upstairs bedroom. Explanation on how to access the TV in the lounge & upstairs bedroom would be useful. Flexible shaving mirror in the upstairs shower room (present mirror not). Upstairs bedroom - spacious but only if you are 3 feet tall!! Should have had a dormer instead of the very low beams. Impossible to position the bed for access without having to bend double without bumping your head (which we did several times!!) Apart from the few negatives, we enjoyed our stay.   Gina was excellent in her communication with us and always happy to give tips on the local area. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the kitchen cupboards were filled with every utensil you may need. The garden was super safe for our two dogs who loved exploring the different levels. The location is very central to Anglesey, which meant we could explore the wonderful beaches in all directions. Cemaes, Benllech, Red Wharf Bay, Aberffawn, Newborough Forest were all wonderful days out. Then back to the cottage in the evenings to relax in the evening sunshine on the sun-loungers and enjoy a bbq and drinks. Perfect! Would highly recommend. Thank you Gina and Elaine xx

  It’s a wonderful cosy little place with everything you need, the welcome pack was a lovely touch, very comfortable, clean and very well equipped. The garden was perfect for our 4 dogs! It’s really close to all the local beaches and villages, so a perfect spot for exploring! 2 minute walk to the local shop and pub. All in all a perfect stay, can’t recommend enough.

• "The cottage was centrally situated on Anglesey close to main roads so that exploring the island was very easy, but it was also tucked away in its own quiet secure tiered garden safe for dogs to roam free in and with spectacular views from the top of the garden."

  There were lots of back lanes for dog walking and the beaches were only a short drive away, mostly dog friendly. The village had a well stocked general store and the cottage had every convenience you could wish for a family holiday. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you.

  To be greeted with a variety of Christmas "goodies" arranged on the kitchen table, a welcoming card, a lit up tree and pretty decorations made it all very special. A brief visit from the owner to check we had all we needed was an extra bonus. We could not have asked for more. Our four dogs were well catered for too and enjoyed the safe garden area.   We've had a fantastic two weeks. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need and spotlessly clean. Jack, Jake and Ruby ( the dogs) loved the garden.   The garden deserves a special mention as it was amazing, totally secure for our two dogs the owners have obviously put a lot of thought into the design. A truly gorgeous place.

• "Sleeper Cottage was even better than described."

  The interior was extremely homely and the garden was stunning and 100% safe as our escapologist expert Toby the Jack Russell/Wired Haired Terrier cross discovered much to his disgust and our relief! The kitchen was very well equipped for all our needs. We intend to return to Sleeper Cottage in the future to discover more of beautiful Ynys Mon from a delightful central base. Booking with Sykes Cottages is hassle-free and the staff are professional, efficient and helpful. We will definitely book through Sykes again.

• "We had a wonderful stay at Sleeper Cottage."

  The house is the best equipped self catering that we've ever stayed in, there was never a moment of wishing you had an item from home to use - it was all there. The garden is absolutely stunning and perfect for relaxing and eating in. It was also entirely dog safe for our 3 Miniature Dachshunds; something we have never managed to find before! Usually they find some way to escape under or over something but not here. It's in a fantastic location to explore all of Anglesey with beaches a short drive away and plenty of dog walks. We will be back, I'm sure!

• "Joe at Sykes booked our break for us with just a few hours notice."

  The cottage itself was perfect for a family with 2 children and 2 large dogs. There was so much space and everything that we needed was on hand. The garden was out of this world, and more than big enough for us to have a bbq, let the kids play and the dogs roam around without us all on top of each other. We were luck enough to meet one of the owners. Elaine was lovely and couldn’t do enough to make sure that we were comfortable and looked after. Location was ideal for travelling around the island. We will definitely be returning.

  Good village shop/newsagent. Pub no good does not serve food bit drab did not use. Cottage excellent, lovely welcome pack left for us. Could not find fault with anything. Safe secure garden when gates closed for dogs and children. Lovely stay.

• "The cottage was excellent and had everything in it that you would need."

  We spent the mornings walking our three retired greyhounds and then the afternoons sunbathing in the beautiful garden while the dogs lay in the shade. Will definitely be going back.
