  • "We enjoyed our stay!"

Massive house with everything you need.

  • "Hospitable hosts, spacious comfortable home, safe fenced garden, lovely surrounding farm and horses, not far to 3 coasts (we recommend Dunaverty Golf Club food) and Campbeltown amenities."

En suites chilly in cold weather. Kitchen would benefit from more lighting and an extractor, maybe a dishwasher for soft spoilt Sassenachs; the square plates / dishes are a tad heavy and idiosyncratic? (Freezer needs a defrost?). Welcome logs and kindling for safe closed and effective fire. Lots of games and care for guests' needs. WiFi and TV all good. Love the tartan carpeting!

  • "Fantastic house and would fully recommend."

There were 4 adults and 2 kids (12 & 14). House big enough with everyone having their own space to relax in. Campbelltown is only 10 mins drive with a decent size Tesco and coop and a couple of takeaways. Beautiful beaches all close by aswell. Bean coffee machine in the kitchen was a great touch. Key was in the door when we got there and we didn't need to contact owners as we had no issues, a guide to the house and area was in the house. The only thing missing for me was a dishwasher, that would have been the icing. We would definitely stay again and had looked at next year for the same week but it was booked up.

The house was huge with plenty of space in each room. It was quite remote but that is what we wanted. It's a hidden Gem.

  • "Truly a rural experience."

As promised it is in fact an old farm house on an old farm. A few dogs come to explore and there are horses nearby. The kitchen is very modern, but you need help from the owner to get the furnace and the coffee machine going. It got cold at night since we didn’t know how to turn on the heat until the owner came by, but we found blankets. It would be good to have a hair dryer on site. We were close to all the golf courses and all the services in Cambeltown. Overall we had a smashing good time and will remember it for a long time.

  • "Excellent property especially for large group as we were."

Very clean and comfortable and good to have so many bathrooms. My only (minor) suggestion was that blinds in the attic room would have helped the young children to sleep better in the short nights we enjoy in the summertime But we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely highly recommend and come back Thank you

Really big place , but needs some money spending on it, only one mid size fridge freezer for 10 people, not great kitchen utensils , not much kitchen work space , beds could be more comfortable, no dryer , couldnt lock the front door from outside, ,allt jobs looked like done on the cheap or not finished, a general deep clean wouldn’t go a miss

  • "Everything was great with the house, just wee minor things like the utensils in the kitchen could be doing with being upgraded as knives and cheese grater were very blunt."

No potato masher. A few cobwebs about but other than that everything was perfect. Scenery is beautiful, peaceful. I thought with it being a working farm we would be woke early but this was not the case. The dogs are very friendly and loved being around us all the time. Great holiday x

The only thing I would say is bring food with you. There are lots of cafes and a few restaurants but no large supermarkets to buy food at.

About the location

CAMPBELTOWN

Tarbert 38 miles; Lochgilphead 50 miles.

Campbeltown is the Kintyre Peninsula's main town and is set in a deep bay, sheltered by Davaar Island, which can be reached by foot at low tide by a mile-long causeway, and the beautiful surrounding hills. In its heyday, the town boasted a vast fishing fleet and, allegedly, 34 whisky distilleries! Today, there are three single malts to be sampled in the town, from Glen Scotia, Glengyle and Springbank. Worth a visit are the Campbeltown Heritage Centre, housed in an old church, the Tartan Kirk, a very striking building which provides an interesting insight into its past history, and the 'Wee Picture House', the country's oldest working cinema and an Art Deco treasure! The town also offers a swimming pool and fitness suite. A few miles to the south is The Mull of Kintyre, made famous by Sir Paul McCartney's song, from where you can see the hills of County Antrim, Northern Ireland, only 12 miles away. The nearby islands of Gigha and Arran are also an easy trip day away.
