Very tidy and clean. We'll furnished and equipped. Garden at the back a great hit with our dog and totally secure. Fiona the owner very friendly and welcoming with a lot of knowledge about the area and places to go. Weather was a little disappointing, but we still managed to enjoy our stay. Visited the Kelpies, Blackness castle, New Lanark and Clyde Valley to name just a few areas of interest. I would highly recommend the cottage.

  • "To step into this cottage is a joy to behold!"

We were tired after a long journey and problems had occurred even before we set off. We opened the front door and were welcomed by such an attractive, clean and beautifully scented kitchen diner. The relaxation of the pretty lounge, the cheerful, bright stair carpet and the comfort of the calming bedroom were second to none. The long enclosed garden was perfect for our furry friend! Fiona gave us a warm welcome, lots of advice and was tremendously understanding about a concern we had. The cottage had been supplied with EVERYTHING one could possibly need. It was just wonderful.

  • "We had a fantastic time at Sky Blue Cottage."

Over the years we've been on several holidays around the UK in cottages and by far this was the best that we've been too. The facilities were brilliant and Mrs Orr couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. You are in a quiet place, people were friendly and even though you think you're in the middle of nowhere, you're never really too far away from Glasgow/Edinburgh, all the towns in between and several Country Parks are nearby too! Our dog loved the wood walk, which is literally a few minutes walk from the cottage. We saw deer on the dog walk and could hear a Woodpecker rattling away every morning as we walked through the wood! The back garden was secure for our dog, a Jack Russell, and he loved running around in it. We without hesitation would recommend this cottage to anyone that was looking for a relaxing break.

The cottage was 100% immaculate. Spacious and really comfortable, felt very homely. Well equipped, has everything that one needs and more. Lovely long garden and patio area. The cottage is situated in a lovely village. The woodland walk within the village is a must to walk around. In sunshine and in rain what's more beautiful than sky blue cottage in the middle of the village on a Scottish lane.

  • "Fiona made us feel so welcome with simple little touches, like the couple of Xmas presents for us on arrival."

The cottage has everything you could possibly need by way of facilities. The pub two doors down is quiet and very welcoming. They welcomed our two well behaved Jack Russell terriers. The cottage is well located to get to either Glasgow or Edinburgh and is a great base to explore both. Although you feel quite remote, we were surprised that there were over 300 restaurants on Just Eat, should we have wanted to order any sort of cuisine! But the kitchen is superbly equiped and we had our evening meals in. Carluke and Lanark are only 15 minutes away, both have good supermarkets to cater for every taste. The bed is very comfy and the bed linen is fresh and clean. The garden is spacious and I am sure would be lovely to sit out in when it is a bit warmer. The central heating is easy to operate and the cottage is well insulated, so we were like toast in the evenings. The shower is easy to use and plenty of hot water. This was a lovely little holiday for me and my partner and we will definitely be back, if available, in the future.
