"We really enjoyed our stay at The Dairy."
Lots to do in the area during holiday season, but very quiet in winter which we like. Carol the site owner was really helpful when we had a power cut during storm Eowyn by providing us with hot water and a generator to power a heater and lamp. It was freezing!!! Storms notwithstanding, accommodation had everything we needed, comfy bed and was nice and warm. Heaters are provided in bedrooms which heat up quickly. Would stay again if we're in area.

Where you’ll be staying
NEWTON STEWART
Port William 17.2 miles; Kirkcudbright 28 miles; Castle Douglas 30.4 miles;
The market town of Newton Stewart, famous for its salmon and trout fishing, lies in a superb location between the serene rolling countryside of the Machars to the south and the Galloway Forest Park to the north. The area is steeped in history. The first Christian missionary to Scotland landed at The Machars, founding the first church in AD 397 in Whithorn. The Whithorn Dig Visitor Centre lies on the site and displays material dug up over years of excavations. The beautiful coastline is a mixture of sandy beaches and rocky shores teeming with birdlife, whilst inland there is superb walking country to be discovered in the Galloway Hills and Forest Park. Sailing, riding and fishing are all available locally and there are plenty of excellent courses to keep the keen golfer busy.
