  • "Fabulous property great for 10 min walk to center ."

Finished to high standard nice touches . Only slight issue was it was very cold the first night and we couldn’t get radiators to come on inspite of turning up thermostat . Also as mentioned in some of previous posts some of the mattresses really need replacing particularly bedroom 1 and back upper bedroom . All in all great stay

  • "Fabulous house in Bath, just perfect for our family."

Very comfortable, well thought out & perfect location for a lovely Bath weekend. Thank you :)

  • "23 Daniel Street in Bath is a lovely big house with all the character and charm you would expect from a period property."

We had rented the house for my wife's 60th birthday, so that all the family could be together for the weekend. There was no 'fighting' over the bedrooms as all were of a good size. The top floor has two bedrooms with a slightly compact shower room, but all good, The middle floors bedrooms have a better sized shower room with a great shower down a flight and a half set of stairs. Two cosy sitting rooms on the ground floor, however we spent most of the time in the well equipped kitchen / dining room in the basement. Great communication beforehand and on the day of arrival from both Sykes and the property owner.

  • "Beautiful house in a perfect location."

Decoration and cleanliness were amazing. The only thing I would suggest would be an improvement with the beds as they were a little small with bouncy mattresses. Also, knowing we could get a parking permit at booking would have been helpful. We did get one, but after we had booked parking elsewhere and then had to cancel. Otherwise we all had a lovely few days here and would definitely return. Thank you.

  • "The property is in a lovely and convenient location."

It is clean and comfortable if you are able bodied. There’s no toilet on the first floor which is a pain in the night. We fixed a very squeaky bathroom door on the top floor with WD40 as it woke everyone up when someone went to the loo. It would have been nice to have a welcome folder with instructions. The kitchen was very cold so it took a while to sort out. There were no instructions on how to get a permit which is needed if you travel here by car. I’ve also never been to one of your cottages that haven’t had a welcome pack with tea, coffee and a few nice extras. It’s little things like this that make you feel at home and welcome straight away.

  • "Only real issue is that when we booked our stay it was advertised as having one on street parking space."

When we arrived, and in final e-mail prior to arrival, there was no mention of this and no parking available, which led to extra costs and use of a public car park. Though a little inconvenient, the main issue was the fact we weren't informed of this change between booking and stay and unloading on first day did get a little tricky at one point. House was great - two sets of keys would also be a help to avoid need to use back entrance, but otherwise all fine.

  • "Very disappointed with the property’s management and the lack of support from Sykes."

The dishwasher was broken ( heating element fault) and full of detritus. Extremely unhygienic. The shower drain was blocked and so flooded the room, which we had to deal with. The hairdryer was extremely loud and smelt of burning and finally a lightbulb was broken on the stairs. Report was made within 24 hours to Sykes but all problems were not resolved. A handyman arrived two days later to clear drain and change bulb. No contact was made about the dishwasher until just hours before we departed the property at the end of the week. A email from Sykes just said nothing could be done until after we left. The cottage became an unpleasant experience and tainted the delight of our holiday.

  • "23 Daniel Street is a very comfortable, well appointed house in the centre of Bath."

The street is very quiet and the walk into Bath is short. There are shops very nearby along with all the historic highlights of the city. The house is beautiful, well appointed, very clean and we felt very at home, to the point that I successfully made my daughter's wedding cake in the spacious kitchen. The owners were great with their communication. A couple of things to be aware of, this would not be a suitable house for anyone with mobility problems, as it is a 4 storey house there are many steep stairs. Parking is not available on the street, which was a slight issue as we had to think about where to put cars every day. Perhaps one parking permit for the house would be a bonus. I would recommend this accommodation.

  • "The listing stated that a parking space was available and it was revealed to us after booking that this was not the case."

As one of our party has a disability, this was a real problem as we were required to walk to and from where the car was parked every time we needed it. The management were not responsive and it took 4 days to reply with information on where the nearest long stay parking was. The parking also ended up as an unexpected expense on top of the accommodation costs.

  • "Beautiful period property in a good location within easy walking distance of the centre of Bath."

The house has been carefully decorated and fitted out. Sykes and the owner were responsive regarding issues raised during our stay, though unfortunately not all issues could be dealt with over the course of a weekend. Communication between Sykes, the owner and guests needs improvement e.g. it's pointless Sykes saying that guests should follow the owner's instructions re rubbish disposal if instructions haven't been left in the property (or if they were there they were too well hidden for us to find). Once some wrinkles are ironed out would recommend this as a good place to stay.

  • "Great, quiet location in short walking distance of all the city sights, restaurants and shops."

The house has been decorated beautifully, comfortable beds, very well equipped kitchen and the quiet reading spot in the conservatory is a lovely bonus. A shame a parking permit isn’t supplied as it's a 15 minute stroll to the nearest long stay car park but it was easy to load/ unload the car in the street, and due to the brilliant location we didn’t need the car at all during our stay.
