This is totally untrue buy sykes took there word and we were made to pay for a new mattress. I have no proof the mattress was disposed. Very unhappy as its a case of the owners have money to take us to court and we don't so it's rich versus poor and leaves you feeling very vulnerable. Will never use sykes again. We have been away with other holiday letting companies and stopped in numerous hotels and never had issues.

  • "Lovely and comfy."

Only thing is, this is not a cottage, If it had said an Annexe, in the back garden of Owner, and only small area garden fenced off to use, with very steep steps and no handrail, we would not have booked it. Big collie needs a big garden which we thought it was by the pictures. Bed really comfy, shower great, Lighting, could do with some small table lamps as well in the lounge, as found the over head lights too much. Jan was great, left us eggs and butter.

I am sorry you were disappointed but Sykes site shows that it is a small garden but there are two public footpaths so plenty of opportunity for long dog walks. Property Owner

Extremely clean, comfortable and well thought out. Good directions regarding location and parking etc. Great garden for dogs - very secure for the majority though our Patterdale terrier did look at jumping the gap by the steps on the right of the patio but then she has been known to be an escape artist! Lovely walks from the door including a 5 mile relatively flat round robin walk to Kemerton where there is a pub and coffee house (during our stay the latter was open thurs to Sunday). Would love to visit again later in the year to do more exploring in the area. Thank You for a lovely holiday. Caroline, Tim and Bobbie

  • "We had a lovely stay (apart from the weather!"

) Beechnut was so private and quiet very tranquil! The private garden with decking, table, chairs and loungers was lovely just a shame we didn’t get to use it much because of the weather. The cottage is clean, very comfortable and has everything you need. The only small thing is it could do with a full length wall mounted mirror but that’s minor. Nick and Jan are lovely and very approachable. We could ask them about anything but we didn’t need to! We would definitely recommend this as your holiday destination not only because of the cottage itself but it’s well situated for trips out and there’s lots to do! Our favourite day out was West Midlands Safari Park it was amazing! You might need to book the extra time for two visits (it’s not much extra price wise) as there’s so much to do for all ages! We’re in our late 60’s/70’s and were shattered at the end of the day! (Take a picnic food is pricey) The cottage had lots of leaflets for places to visit which we found helpful! The only reason I wouldn’t recommend Beechnut is that other people might book it when we want it!!

So glad you enjoyed your stay and it was a shame about the weather. We love you see you again. Best wishes Nick and Jan Property Owner

We only saw her once in the rest of the week but otherwise she was on hand with any problems if needed. The property is well situated for exploring the likes of Tewkesbury, Cheltenham, and Gloucester, and even Worcester and Cirencester were not too far for us. It is compact yet feels spacious, partly due to the bifold doors and fabulous views. It is all on one floor and well planned. The furnishings and fittings are tasteful and high quality with, in particular, a comfy bed and a great shower. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the cottage is very well equipped. The welcome gifts were plentiful, much appreciated and included bread, milk, eggs, butter and shampoo and shower gel. Thank you. The owners were very helpful, calling to see that we had arrived and had what we needed. There is also an excellent, enclosed, outdoor space which was perfect for our dog. The dog basket, full of throws for the furniture, towels and poo bags was also a thoughtful touch. The cottage is part of a tiny village which is really just one cul de sac surrounded by countryside. • "Beechnut Cottage wasn't as private as the photos made out but the views surrounding the back were lovely."

A few issues with what the cleaners had & hadn't done but we went out & purchased bin liners, cleaner & loo rolls. We had a good time exploring the beautiful Cotswolds. However on our day of departure we were loading the car when Mr Gilder told my husband the cleaners we outside but they would wait! This comment was unnecessary because we not late in leaving.

  • "This property delivers on all it offers."

The only way it could improve is if you added to what is already there. ie, a Hot Tub. This would no doubt be good for some and not for others, so it's about perfect for what you offer.

  • "We were contacted by a very apologetic Mrs Jan Gilder at around 4."

30pm, to tell us that, unfortunately, the accommodation would not be ready by 5.00pm due to the lateness of the cleaners. I believe this to be the responsibility of Sykes,in this instance? However,Mr & Mrs Gilder were the perfect hosts in the meantime. Superb property, with beautiful views and a great location. Would definitely like a return visit in the near future.

It was very spacious for 2 people and the dog. The hosts were very lovely and although you are in their garden annex they did not intrude at all. If we go back to Tewkesbury for a holiday that is where I would most definitely book to stay.

The owners Jan and Nick were lovely, the cottage was superbly newly renovated, immaculate, well equipped, beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable in a lovely quiet area. This property is without any doubt a real asset to the Sykes portfolio. The area around is great for walking/touring all within easy reach but away from the crowds. We would not hesitate to recommend this cottage to our friends and family - a hidden gem! We will most definitely be booking this cottage again next year.
