  • "This was a superb property for us in every way."

We love the sympathetic renovations particularly lower kitchen area. A must for us at this time of year is an open fire. Parking is good and we enjoyed walking directly from the front door. Local amenities were impressive including a selection of pubs with good food, beer and open fires.

  • "We had a lovely holiday at woodland cottage, perfect for Malvern hill walkers straight across the road."

Malvern was a great town lots of cafes to enjoy and Ledbury too. The views from the cottage were fantastic, as were the hosts Brendan and Lois they were there if you needed them but left you to enjoy their quirky grade2 listed cottage. We visited Worcester, several NT homes and did plenty of amazing walks with fantastic views. Highly recommend for a varied holiday.

It is so convenient for walking on the hills, the footpath starts a couple of mins walk from the property and also there's a well stocked walkable shop. It has been so nicely decorated and feels really spacious, even more so than the photos. Everything was very comfortable and wonderful views. The fire was wonderful and we made use of all the board games. Very cosy. The kitchen had everything and was very quirky. The hosts were wonderful and thank you for the wine! Would definitely visit again if in the area. Thank you!

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Woodland Cottage."

It has plenty of period charm but with modern comforts too. I liked the way the space was divided - downstairs a spacious, characterful kitchen with a big range cooker, and upstairs a cosy sitting room with a log fire. The view from the bedroom and bathroom at the back of the building was wonderful. It was great to be in walking distance of Holy Well, so we could collect delicious spring water to drink (Jack and Jill – like the bathroom!) The bottle of wine on arrival was also much appreciated. Thank you, Lois and Brendan, for a delightful place to stay.

Marvellous view for miles out of the spacious bedroom. Excellent bathroom with excellent shower. Sitting room small and a little cramped as you have to go between the sofa & the wall by the stairs to access the bedroom. Kitchen *very* quirky. Took me a long time to find everything, but well equipped once I *had* found all the equipment. No worktops, just the table to prepare food. Fridge-freezer in the cupboard. Very helpful and hospitable owners. Acess to far end of lovely garden

  • "This was a late change to our holiday cottage in the area so we were not sure what we would find."

However the cottage is superbly equipped, there was even a local waterproof walking map, which we used every day. using it we did three walks straight from the door. The cottage is actually bigger than it looks and is very comfortable. Special mention to the super shower, which was well used after a long climb up into the hills. Super views out of the bedroom window, and of the garden which would have been nice to use if the weather had been better and less cold. The owners even contacted us and asked us if we needed the heating on, not something you would expect in July. to sum up its quirky, cosy and perfectly located for walks straight from the door.

Garden can be shared which was lovely. The views from the bathroom and bedroom are superb and unbeaten. The locality to get onto the hills is good but on the steeper side so a car is useful for less steep and getting into town as buses don't run at weekend/Bank holidays and only twice during the day. Would definitely stay again, loved it.

Thank you for your comments about the cottage generally and reporting the issue with one of the ovens in the range cooker. We wish you had reported this while you were staying in the Cottage. • "I loved my stay at Woodland Cottage and am hoping to visit again later in the year."

It is a wonderfully characterful place and the owners, who live next door, have done an excellent job of renovating it and decorating it - it combines comfortable, modern, characterful and quirky. The cosy living room (open fireplace) is on the road side whilst the bedroom has the most incredible views - I could sit and watch them all day. The attached en-suite is to a high standard and you also have the same views from the loo! The basement kitchen is again full of character, has everything you need and is comfortable to have meals in, and they still managed to squeeze in a dishwasher, thank goodness. You can walk up to the Hills straight from the door - very handy - and only 10 minutes up the road to Great Malvern which has a large Waitrose amongst plenty of other shops. You can park in front of Brendan and Lois’ place next door.

  • "We enjoyed the cottage and it's location, however we feel that the FRIDAY change over day wasn't properly communicated."

We booked fairly recently, as the result of having had previous half term plans changed. We definitely entered Saturday to Saturday into the online calendar (in line with my husband's working pattern). It was a shock to be contacted on Friday 1st June, being told that we should have vacated that day! Having to return to the cottage, pack up and leave in a hurry was inconvenient and embarrassing. Admittedly the small print does give Friday (25th ) as the arrival date, but it was FAR from clear. A Friday start date doesn't seem very practical, for most people, unless you are only staying for the weekend, hardly very customer friendly, is it? Please spend less time bombarding us, daily, with advertising e-mails and more time highlighting the pertinent facts. We have already booked another cottage for August, the experience in Malvern has left us feeling anxious and disappointed. Let's hope our next experience is more positive.
