• "We loved The Old Coach House."

  It was comfortable, clean & there was a lot of information leaflets on Tewksbury & the surrounding area. It was just perfect for the two of us. The fence to pull across behind the car was very useful as it meant we could let our little dog out without worrying about him wandering off. I filled up the bird feeder & the birds soon arrived which we could watch through the window. We enjoyed a very relaxing few days. Thank you.

The ‘pull across fence’ was only installed a few weeks back so to allow both your little dog some freedom and interest to watch people, and you to watch the birds with peace of mind. • "We had a lovely stay at the coach house."

  The house was very clean and had everything we needed. It is well located in the town close to the river but away from the busy town. A good central location for the Cotswolds and close to Gloucester and Cheltenham. We will be re booking to stay again. Thank you.

• "A delightful and comfortable accommodation, but was let down by several issues namely; 1."

  Out of date food left in the larder. 2. The air fryer was left dirty. 3. Some light bulbs were not working. 4. There were no dishwasher tablets. 5. Only a little toilet paper to split between the 2 toilets. 6. 3 out of the 4 gas burners would not stay alight. 7. The floor downstairs was sticky and not very clean. 8.The bedroom balcony door would not open. 9. The step from the downstairs shower room is positively dangerous without some sort of warning strip. We both stumbled down at some point and badly jarred ourselves.

  Dear Mr Cook It is always helpful to have guests share their views good or bad, thank you On this occasion we seem to have not come up to expectations, a view I similarly share given some of your points. If I may respond to your points: 1. There are two schools of thought concerning ‘use by’ dates particularly canned food, preserves, condiments and herbs. Yes, we could have discarded some of course but we fall into the group that says waste not want not. If it is something you personally check we apologise if you felt they should have been discarded. We will of course go through them when we return and consider their quality and usability. 2. No excuse and our cleaning company (CC) will be chastised for not checking it before your arrival. 3. Annoyingly these can fail at anytime and it will be something we shall ask our CC to report on prior so we can attend to. 4. No excuse, this should have been checked and tabs supplied, sincere apologies. Again this will be addressed with our CC. 5. Not acceptable at all, should never have happened. It is the responsibility of our CC and shall be addressed. 6. This clearly needs to be checked as to why, initially to check the crowns are all clear and the gas outlet underneath are not blocked, thereafter if that does not remedy a gas appliance technician will be called in. 7. Not acceptable and I cannot understand why that should be the case. CC will be chastised. 8.We shall have someone look at this and report back to us, maybe the door needs to be adjusted. 9. Yours is the first guest observation about the step but now highlighted to us, we shall certainly address this by some means which we shall now investigate, thank you and I am sorry to learn it caught you both out. We take all comments seriously and you can be assured of our action to address. May we both thank you for the time you have taken to share your views and accept our sincere apologies. • "Very well equipped maybe new frying pans as two looked very undesirable an I had to a fry up on a very small one ."

• "We absolutely loved our stay in The Coach House."

  It was in an ideal location. The village itself was lovely and so dog friendly. The Coach House was beautiful and cosy for a much needed lovely relaxing stay. Great to be able to park right outside the cottage too. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend. I am sure we will be back, just a shame it is only one bedroom as our daughter would have loved to come with us next time as we spoke so highly of our stay. Many thanks xx

• "This is a gem!"

  Perfectly located and it really is a home-from-home. The bed is so comfortable! Be aware - it would be quite easy to walk out of the upstairs bathroom and take a tumble down the spiral staircase, particularly after a few of the local ciders. Maybe a tasteful barrier could be installed for night time safety. We thorughly enjoyed our Coach House stay and would highly recommend it.

• "Lovely little house only a few minutes from the centre of Tewkesbury."

  Downstairs has a kitchen and living room , really comfortable sofas and a nice size tv which is unusual for lettings. The shower room downstairs was also handy . Upstairs there is a bathroom , landing area and nice size bedroom with a really comfortable bed and lots of bedding . We were concerned it would be cold and took throws etc but it wasn’t at all and infact we turned the thermostat down to 10c at night . Nice walks along the river , beautiful Christmas Eve service at the Abbey , some lovely meals out and we followed the heritage trail found on a booklet looking at the beautiful Tudor houses on a Christmas Day walk . Very near to our daughter in Cheltenham and nice to explore a new town . The bedroom, living areas and bathrooms were nice and clean . The only disappointing things we encountered was the fact that the kitchen could do with a really deep clean . The dish cloth really smelt and I had to soak it in boiled water and a little bleach before use . The kitchen drawers and cupboards had lots of crumbs etc . I emptied the cutlery drawer and washed it all and got rid of all the stains and crumbs but didn’t want to do any others on my holiday . The condiments and teas also need a good sort out as many have expired . This was also the only cottage we have ever been to that didn’t have a welcome pack . Some milk for a cup of tea etc would have been nice on arrival to save us going back out for it after our long drive . We really enjoyed our stay despite these little niggles and it was a lovely little Christmas.

  Dear Mr Peters, Thank you for booking to stay in the Coach House, and I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay and spending Christmas there. However, I am somewhat devastated to hear of the issue with cleanliness. As we spend the winter months in South Africa, we have to rely upon others to maintain the property to our agreed standard. Bianca , whose details you should have found in the property in case of any issues, has always previously been excellent in this regard. I will send her a copy of your message, and await her response. I apologise most sincerely for any shortcomings you found. I will of course, get back to you once I have received her reply. Margaret Stark, I have now had a reply from Bianca, who has acknowledged, based on your comments, that the cleaning was not done to the required standard. We have changed a couple of things ie dish cloths replaced by new j cloths for each guest. We hope that these changes will result in our cleaning scores return to their normal level and no other guests will share your experience. Thank you for pointing out the flaws to us so that they can be quickly remedied. We hope that should you ever return to the Coach House you will have a spotless welcome. • "The Coach House was beautiful."

  The perfect holiday stay which was close to amenities and was equipped with everything you could ever need inside from towels to condiments. We had a brilliant time and didn’t want to come home.

• "We really enjoyed our stay and it was very convenient for central Tewkesbury."

  The cottage was finished to a high level and it was great to have 2 bathrooms. A few things would make it excellent: Outside security lights would help find the front door in the evening! A welcome note with Wi-Fi code, basic instructions for the heating control and oven/microwave. It would have been useful to be able to communicate with the owner while staying at the property. (We found id difficult using Sykes communication)

  Good Morning Glynis Thank you for your comments and the advice about getting an outside light fitted. We will put one up certainly when we return home if not before. I am as puzzled as you are about communication with Sykes which should be straightforward. Sykes have recently updated their Apps in which there there is a section where it allows guests and owners to communicate. Having sent 2 messages to you and not having received a reply I am now wondering if that section was working??? Property Owner

• "Great location- 5mins walk to town, has carpark space, clean, 2 bath/shower rooms one each floor."

  What I didn’t see listed but has a washing machine and iron. Well stocked kitchen and condiments, cleaning materials. We fed and watched the birds which was lovely. Negatives -not that was an issue but would be better if sorted - , the towel rail in the shower is positioned very near the shower, so if not careful when entering exiting the shower you can hurt yourself . It was a great place to stay, and I will definitely return if I was going back to Tewkesbury

• "Lovely property in great location with the addition of car parking."

  Could do with a gate to make the courtyard secure for our little dog, we managed using the car and the bins . Very steep spiral staircase. Great holiday !

• "Lovely little apartment set in the middle of Tewkesbury within easy reach of all pubs/restaurants."

• "Great location, central to town with shops & pubs just minutes away."

  Also a good base to explore Gloucestershire generally. We really enjoyed our visit & will definitely return soon. Would recommend a five bar gate across the front driveway with chicken wire stapled at bottom so your dog could stretch their legs safely.
