  • "The premises itself are nice but for what we were charged to stay I was a little disappointed the sofa has a slash in the arm that was covered by a cushion, the tiles around the fireplace are broken which would be dangerous if a small child was staying as there quite sharp, the garden is not fully secure for a pet as the gate is broken & doesn’t even have a lock, I don’t know if it’s just a bulb but the light above front door outside never worked the whole time we were there making it quite difficult of a night to open the door as it was dark ( thank god for phone torches) & finally the main bedroom the mattress needs replacing as you can feel the springs."

But for location in was perfect being right in the town.

  • "Perfect accommodation for our group of five adults."

Felt like home more than a rental. Very comfortable and clean. Location of property is outstanding. Walkable to every retail store, pub or eatery in the town. This property would be my first recommendation to anyone who is visiting the wonderful town of Ardara, Co Donegal.

  • "A good big house in a great location with parking."

The upstairs was nicely done but the downstairs and bathrooms are a bit dated. The facilities let the property down a bit, with limited bowls amd glasses, no microwave, a small telly and the shower in the main bathroom that was very slippy. There was also rubbish in the kitchen bin upon arrival and it gave the downstairs a bad smell.

thank you Jack for your feedback .I have addressed the rubbish issue with the cleaners and I have been reassured it won't happen again . also since you brought the bowls and glasses to my attention they are being replaced .A microwave is also being installed .The bath upstairs has an antislip mat with it I will look into getting one maby that will cover a larger area . I do hope you enjoyed your stay and we will look forward in the future welcoming you again with our updates in place . Property Owner

  • "The house was in a great position in the town ."

Handy for most things. The oven needs a new seal and a good clean The microwave needs to be dumped .we refused to use it was falling apart with rust. Couldn't be healthy. All the germs would be trapped inside. And the grass was uncut this year and the house was very dirty to my standards. We tried to contact owner with no luck.

thank you Deirdra for your feedback . upon your suggestion we have replaced the oven and hob in the house and removed the microwave which will be replaced . shortly .The grass is cut every twelve days weather permitting ,perhaps it was due a cut during your stay .I did not receive a missed call from you ,or a voicemail .I always return a call if missed and a message left . I do hope you enjoyed your stay in ardara and enjoyed the locals and the possibly one of the many festivals on offer . Property Owner

About the location

ARDARA, COUNTY DONEGAL

Donegal Town 17 miles; Derry Airport 54 miles.

Ardara, voted by The Irish Times as one of the 'best villages to live in' in 2012, is one of the most attractive towns in Donegal, set in a wide valley where the Owentocher River enters Loughros More Bay. Visitors can enjoy the many craft and gift shops, together with the traditional Irish pubs. There are many brown trout lakes in the area for budding fisherman, or why not discover the nearby caves and falls of Maghera? Enjoy walking the magnificent Glengesh Pass, with spectacular views over the Atlantic from Loughros Point. Every March, the village hosts a successful walking festival with walkers coming from all over the world, while May boasts the annual “Cup of Tae” traditional music festival. Donegal town, 17 miles away, is situated at the mouth of Donegal Bay, on the River Eske, and is overshadowed by the Bluestack Mountains, which provide a great base for hill walking. With Donegal Castle, and the remains of a Franciscan Abbey which dates back to the 15th century, there is plenty of Irish history to absorb. There is a horse riding centre just one mile away, great golfing opportunities nearby, with a magnificent links course open for players of all abilities just seven miles away, and five miles away is Killybegs Sea Angling, where a competition is held on the first Saturday in May and September each year, along with the Killybegs International Sea Angling Festival, which is a two day event on the second weekend in July. Also 20 miles away is the wonderful Slieve League mountain, which has a height of 601 metres (1972 feet) and is situated on the Atlantic coast of County Donegal. With its sandy beaches offering good surfing conditions, restaurants, shops and pubs, this is the perfect base for an Irish break.
