Really handy to local places of interest Great space outside and secure for dogs (if you get the weather lol - we didn't) Cosy with fire lit Personally feel there should be a bigger kitchen for the size of the property and would be easier kept if it was all wooden floors throughout rather than carpeted in hall and bedrooms (with pets, beach visits and wet weather) Enjoyed our stay though, thanks

  • "Our party included a wheelchair user (outdoors only) a small dog and a teenager which allied together makes all of our trips away a challenge."

Overall our stay was very good. The wi-if worked well and the lounge and bedroom furniture was comfortable. A fridge freezer within the property would have improved our experience rather than the one in the garage. The outdoor area was good for our small Yorkie and the location was fantastic with a convenient shop not too far away. The nearby restaurant/pub weren’t dog friendly inside and the weather ruled out dining outside. We weren’t confident using the woodburning stove in the property and if we had stayed during a colder part of the year we would probably have spent a fair few euros on the oil fired central heating coin meter top up to keep us warm, but overall would definitely recommend to others.

  • "All we would say is that property could do with a bit of TLC , the kitchen could do with some modifications and the property did have a bit of a smell , like it had not been lived in for a long time , possibly a bit over priced."

We did have a great holiday though and will definitely returning to the R.O.I again .

  • "House was quirky."

Obviously a pre loved family home so still had remnants of the past. The situation of the house, which was wonderful, meant we cooked most of our meals. So, we would have liked a few more basic kitchen items. A couple of sharp knives, a casserole dish or maybe a basic slow cooker, and a bigger sieve and a bigger grater. Oh and couple of steak knives. The beds were very comfy. And once you got the hang of the heating and the hot water, it was cosy. We were made most welcome by the owner. Beautiful part of the world. Great garden to relax if the weather allows. Local pubs very friendly.

  • "A great base for exploring the North Donegal area, we enjoyed our stay very much, the owner Ellen was most helpful, the garden of the property was ideal for our 2 small dogs."

Everything was as described on the property description. Only downside was size of kitchen and fridge which were on the small side. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay.

  • "There definitely isn't enough credit on the oil burner and enough coal for the solid fuel boiler."

We had put extra money in for the oil burner & purchased 2 extra bags of coal at a cost of 42 euros. The furnishing & decor are dated, but the beds were very comfortable. It was enjoyable in the garden when the sun was out and very secure for our Dalmatian dog. We can happily recommend the Seaview Tavern & the mini-supermarket / petrol station next to it, which are both just a short drive.

  • "The house was as expected since we took dogs ."

but was an uncomfortable house and cold took ages to warm up . The money the lady put in the metor she said would last all week ,was gone in 2 days so were feeding the meter. The frying pans handle was un safe could not use it . The oven didnt work and some of the cutlery was dirty We would not recommend this house. Even if you have dogs you have to be comfortable . • "We were delighted with our stay in Sparkling Waters."

It is a little slice of heaven that Donegal provides in spades. Ellen was wonderful. She had the fire lit and milk in the fridge and then left us to get on with our holiday, but was at the end of the phone if we needed to know anything. We loved both the cottage and Donegal equally. Warm helpful people and a lovely warm cottage. We loved the Seaview Tavern with the lads Christopher Aiden Charlie James in the small original bar and Ronan for going the extra mile. Sparkling Waters introduced us to a fabulous holiday and we will be back. Thank you Ellen for the extra help.

  • "Best outside garden space for our Boxer dogs we have ever had with Hogans."

Inside space, the bungalow could to with some updating, brightening up and modernisation. Most mornings we had breakfast outside as the weather was great for mid September and the massive open garage offered plenty of seating and tables to bring out. The location was fantastic and easy to walk the dogs.
