  • "Lovely old property, clean, well maintained and providing all that we needed."

Lovely area, great for the dogs, beautiful lake nearby to bring them swimming. They didn't want to come home !

  • "The school house is spacious, well laid out with great views of the surrounding countryside and a lake."

The Wi-Fi was great and the Tv's (3 of them) had satellite TV. The kids loved the big garden and the sheep in the field next door. We loved how close everything was; Cavan town, Carrick on Shannon and Sligo or Longford. The sitting room has a lovely raised fireplace, perfect for winding down in front of in the evenings. The school house is a great peaceful getaway. We hope to be back.

  • "Lovely property and great space."

The old school house is well planned out and a great central spot for exploring the Midlands of Ireland. Biggest issue is the spiders in the house, while no fear of spiders it definitely made us unable to relax completely. Also oven would need updated as takes ages to cook anything.

Sorry to hear that spiders made the visit uneasy for your visit. We are here now for a few days and there are 2/3 spiders around which we put outside. This is the countryside and there will be more than in a city location now and then. We appreciate your positive comments on our property .Regarding your comments on the cooker :it is a modern electric standard ceramic 4 ring hob with with oven and grill in full working order. • "Hi, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old School."

The only problem we had was with the huge quantity of spiders in the house, we were going to use a spare blanked that was stored on top of a wardrobe in one of the twin rooms until we took it down and gasped at the amount of spiders and moths when we opened it out, we then quickly returned it to the top of the wardrobe. The School could do with a monthly deep clean down and especially all the spiders removed. We nicknamed the School Hotel Transylvania. We did enjoy our stay and would recommend it to others. Brian & Family.

Thank you for your nice comments and glad you enjoyed your stay overall. Will take up the issues mentioned with the cleaning team and have the spare blankets cleaned and stored in sealed clear plastic so that this will not re occur.. Property Owner

  • "Really nice home, lots of space and beautifull view."

There is no wifi, and it is a bit remote. But we had a beautifull vacation!

We realized WiFi was needed and is now installed and free Netflix also. Thanks for your positive comments.I would also like to mention that we have installed new pitch pine flooring in the kitchen and sitting room as much as we wanted to keep the original floors, they were too far gone , impossible to keep clean looking and detracted from the overall clean look of the rooms.
