  • "No mention in listing that electricity requires coins to be fed into meter, shower alternates between hot and freezing cold, electric cooker is ancient, so called central heating is a plugged in heater linked to a timer switch, no upstairs bathroom."

Also the floor was dirty and a lot of the surfaces were sticky to the touch. Not a patch on other Sykes cottages we have stayed at.

  • "The property is well situated with just a short walk to amenities."

It's comfortable with a wood burning stove. Two points I'd bring to your attention. The cooker did not work well and is dated. Not too expensive to replace. The shower is not fit for purpose. Being systematically roasted and freezing is not acceptable. Again something that can be easily fixed. Other than that we enjoyed the holiday and the friendly people of Fethard.

  • "Really nice apartment, with lovely stonewalls inside and features that make the property very attractive."

Nice private garden to back that provides suntrap. Great location within walking distance to shops and bars in village. Owner was lovely and very helpful. Only negative was the apartment could have done with a good dusting and clean, as lots of spiderwebs on walls and ceilings and floors left feet black. Luckily a hoover and mop were provided, so was able to clean as required.

  • "Spider webs everywhere was not cleaned."

WiFi only worked on first day of stay. Washing left in washing machine all day. Would need a extra bathroom upstairs. Living room was to cramped with table and sofas need redesign. Rugs in bedrooms are a slip hazard.

The washing belong to other guests summer time spiders hard to control in old buildings wi- fi works for other guests and myself it's not five star shower room and separate toilet downstairs first time I was told it was cramped . Rugs ?? Property Owner

  • "I already did and your response was not likely to fix issues with any customer."

You clearly have a policy of not making any attempt to address issues in a professional or customer friendly manner.

This is my response to the above complaint. 1. Our guest was 4 days late, I held the property for the Guest and as a result I lost two potential bookings. 2. Asthma The Guest,s wife suffers with asthma and they felt that the Barn being an old building in part could trigger of her condition. It clearly indicated on the Hogan’s site the building is an old renovated farmhouse (stone wall in picture) 3. Cleanliness. I take issue with the statement (the house was not well cleaned) If they had arrived on the due date the house would have smelled of cleaning and snatiation! 4. Darker/gloomier. The windows are south and north facing, bright in the sun rise and bright in sun set as all farmers would have it over a hundred years ago as they did not have electric lighting The Guest apparently arrived to the afternoon. 5. Pet friendly The Forge next door is not available for booking on the site for this year so it is so two pets is at the owner's discretion . see pictures of two aggressive dogs. 6. The private patio (garden) The gardens are exactly the same, the table has been upgraded to metal and glass table as the wooden table was damaged. I did put a second table in for previous guest as thee wanted to used it to BBQ as the weather so good and all the windows and door we open all of the last few months. 7. Old and uncomfortable furniture. Our guests didn’t stay, how could you know if furniture is uncomfortably. Never heard this from a guest. 8. Smaller space. I have never been asked to supply dimension drawings to a guest! CONTINUE 9. Attractive wooden table shown in photo. It is under the table cloth, I put it on for previous guest as they had young children. Property Owner
