  • "Very well kept and clean house."

Good location for the South Hams Beaches. I would recommend the house to others, especially for families.

  • "Great house, an earlier arrival time would have been appreciated."

Clothes airer useful. More bags for rubbish bins, if we are to adhere to recycling etc.

  • "Well done on kitting out your house and kitchen so well."

Everything we needed was provided. We could not fault it. We had our grandkids who loved the village. The kids never noticed the lounge and it remained an adults only area. Everyday after nap time we headed off to the playground and streams. What a perfect village. The water in the streams ( shallow bits only) was perfect for a toddler. He loved getting soaked! The village was stunning. We spent as much time as we could on local beaches mostly in wet weather clothing. Your neighbour with the van was very helpful with ideas, and was very friendly. A big thank you to the cleaner as she left the house spotless. Thank you.

Very well equipped with everything we needed. Good location for exploring the beautiful beaches and coast path nearby and not far from Plymouth for wet days.

It was perfect for our weekend in Devon and super close to some lovely spots (Kingsbridge and Bantham Beach). Would absolutely recommend and return if I’m ever back in Devon.

.. Driving skills really tested on the narrow country lanes when tractors coming other way ..Plymouth really worth a visit ....found a good circular walk from the house plus a good pub at the end of village

Sorry to hear you had a problem with the keysafe. It is a standard keysafe, very easy to operate and full instructions are provided. We suggest that guests use the keysafe to store the keys during their stay to avoid problems of them going missing. Property Owner

In facg today 13 and 6 year old call it our holiday home. If has everything we need. The location is great. 15 minutes from lovely Bantham beach and close to A38 to other places to visit. False grass jn the garden ,which was brilliant this time as our 9 month old could crawl safely. Will book again next year .

The mattresses were very hard and uncomfortable. Property was well appointed with plenty of kitchen equipment. many games available for adults plus books and toys and games and books for younger people

Please be assured summer weight duvets are available at the property. All mattresses are relatively new and none are hard and uncomfortable. Please read fairer and more representative feedback below. Property Owner

  • "We were surprised to find that the house is very close to the bypass and if we opened the windows we were disturbed by traffic noise from a very busy road."

Yes the property is quite close to a single carriageway local road which bypasses the village. However it is not visible being 25 metres away and separated from Glebe House by two hedgerows and numerous trees. Traffic is virtually non-existant at night. The property is fully double glazed and traffic noise is not an issue at all when all windows are closed. Having quick access to the road is actually a benefit when travelling to the local towns and beaches. Property Owner

  • "The house is lovely and felt like a real family home, it had everything we needed and a very good information folder, it even had a little book to record any minor issues so that they could be dealt with (Not that we needed that everything was fine) We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back to Glebe House, we have been holidaying as a family since the arrival of my grandchildren for nearly ten years and have stayed all over the country and we all agreed that this is our favourite house."

  • "The house was extremely well appointed ."

The four adults liked the en-suite bathrooms and the downstairs toilet was useful for the toddler in the party. The house was situated close to an array of lovely child friendly beaches, interesting towns and coastal paths. We have stayed in a few Sykes Cottages but Glebe House has by far been the best. We can't wait to make a return visit. The Higginson and Heald families.

About the location

BIGBURY-ON-SEA

Modbury 6 miles; Plymouth 12 miles.

Bigbury-on-Sea is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is ideal for family holidays. Dusted with sand and lapped by shallow waters, the beach offers safe fun for groups particularly if you’ve got children in tow. In addition, Bigbury-on-Sea beach is dotted with rock pools, so there’s plenty of entertainment for budding marine biologists. There’s also a wide and varied selection of watersports available to visitors who prefer their holidays to feature a little adrenaline rush. Windsurfing and kite-surfing are popular here, with hire facilities located right on the beach. To give you some peace of mind, there are lifeguards present at Bigbury-on-Sea beach during May to September and the beach also has a first-aid room. You can even take the dog onto the beach, although they are restricted to certain areas during the summer. Bigbury’s most famous landmark is Burgh Island, which overlooks the beach itself. The island is accessible at low tide, when the waters reveal a causeway that links it to the beach. However, when the tide is in you can still reach the island by hitching a ride on the popular and unique ‘sea tractor’. Burgh Island boasts an award-winning hotel, elegant and rather genteel, it’s an ideal romantic retreat for couples. Explore the South Devon coast with its fabulous sandy beaches and its breathtakingly beautiful coastal path or simply take time to visit some of the charming estuary towns and villages dotted throughout the area, such as Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Dartmouth. The city of Plymouth and the wild open spaces of Dartmoor are also both close at hand.
