  • "A lovely apartment."

Well equipped and maintained. Parking a bit tight but not an issue. Fantastic location opposite the beach. We loved it and would stay there again. Sofas a little dated and not the most comfy but only a minor point.

We've never seen such stunning views from a property ! Our favourite restaurant was the Beach House - but you need to book most restaurants well in advance. Enjoyed our takeaway Sri Lankan curry on Barricombe Beach on a nice sunny evening too .

Luckily a plumber repaired the boiler in the Sunday but Sykes cottages accepted no responsibility that the apartment was not in a fit state to occupy and refused to offer any compensation!

Apologies for not responding sooner. We had a breakdown of comms in our household! We’re sorry that you were inconvenienced by the problem with the boiler. We thought, at the time, you were satisfied with our actions and the fan heater. We hope this doesn’t prevent you from visiting again as we do appreciate your custom, and believe your visits before this one have gone well. Best regards Property Owner

  • "Clean and good location."

No lock found for small body board shed. Would have liked clearer warning of parking space limitation (on steep hill, parallel park next to wall between 2 other cars in too short space for family estate car). Also cannot take surf boards or wetsuits (winter challenge!) into property so no secure storage for board apart from top of car in view of road. Would have appreciated heating being turned on just to take the chill away as it was all off and freezing when we arrived. Enjoyed the stay and Woolacombe.

  • "What a view, the apartment was beautiful and very comfortable."

We had a fabulous time. We would have loved to come back again next year but ran into problems with Sykes and the prices on the website. My husband spoke with Sykes on the phone and then has sent an email which has not been replied to. If we can find the apartment on another website we may be back but we will not be using Sykes again.

The location was perfect, close to all the shops and restaurants, with beautiful sea and beach views. Also, an ideal spot for walking both ways along the coast. The only issue was parking, which was very challenging. We were lucky that there was no one staying in apartment 3, otherwise it would have been nigh on impossible.

Another wonderful stay at Hartland view just a shame the living room windows were so dirty on the outside that it impacted on the amazing views from the apartment

We’re sorry that the windows weren’t up to standard. We have them regularly cleaned but unfortunately, with being right on the seafront, they do become salt covered very quickly. We hope it didn’t impact on your enjoyment too much. Property Owner

Hi, thank you for your feedback and I am glad that overall you enjoyed your stay. The central bed legs have now been replaced which should provide more support and the can opener replaced. • "This is a really lovely warm and cosy apartment, with a stunning view of the whole of Woolacombe beach."

It has a very well appointed kitchen with everything needed to cook a full meal, along with a washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine. The bed was very comfortable, along with 2 bathrooms with great showers. All was clean and tidy with items left to make the stay really easy and welcoming. The only tiny issue we noticed was some of the interior paint was bubbling on the outer lounge wall and the outer bedroom wall, presumably because some water had got in at some point. But this in no way affected our experience of the apartment. Communication was excellent from booking and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you for having us.

Many thanks for the detailed feedback. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the apartment. With regards the two limited areas of peeling paint, we replastered and repainted a section of the wall in the lounge in the spring of ‘22 but, unfortunately, the issue has reoccurred, resulting in a small area of bubbling paintwork. We are working with the property management company to resolve some external issues before we redecorate again. Thankfully there is no mould. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay."

Apartment really comfy and clean. View is amazing from the apartment. I gave 4 stars as only thing was parking space for the apartment was on steep incline and if cars in front and behind you are in trying to use reverse on the incline doesn’t do the gearbox any good. But it won’t stop us from coming back.

Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We look forward to welcoming you back at a future date. We have made some further improvements to the property recently which we hope you will finding pleasing. The driveway, as you point out, can be a little challenging. Hopefully, with everything being so close by, it wasn’t a daily irritant. Property Owner

The location is perfect, with the beach close by, and the views of the beach spectacular. Clearly the property is undergoing some upgrades, with a beautiful new cooking unit. We washed our dishes by hand, so couldn’t report on the dishwasher, but made good use of the washing machine and the thoughtfully supplied drying rack. Our group agreed that we would absolutely love to repeat our visit! One tiny suggestion would be to provide a broom and dustpan.

Thank you for your review. Suggestion duly noted and we have provided a broom alongside the dustpan/brush and hoover. We appreciate you wanting to keep the property clean and tidy. Many thanks. Property Owner

  • "Loved our first family holiday at Hartland View, location and views were amazing."

Was great to be so close to the beach, shops, and restaurants, especially with a little one. Apartment was comfortable, but there are some repairs and cleaning needed in some rooms and kitchen equipment needs to be reviewed. As mentioned in other reviews, parking was not easy - middle bay on a fairly steep incline. We were fortunate that the end bay was empty for most of our stay, but may have been stuck if other residents were in.

  • "Firstly, the location of the apartment is AMAZING."

It's so handy to be so close to the beach and the town, and have a car parking space. On a surface level, the apartment is great. Comfy beds and sofas, a (pretty) well stocked kitchen, and a good sized en-suite. The weekly clean is good. The main bathroom is small, and tricky to bath two children in, but this won't be an issue to all. However, the apartment is in need of some TLC, and a proper deep clean. There are areas throughout the apartment where wall paint is pealing, the ensuite shower base came apart, there are lose tiles in the ensuite, and whilst we were there, one of the blinds in the sitting room almost fell out of the ceiling. This is our second visit to the apartment (first visited in May 2021), and it felt like some issues had deteriorated since then. We had a few issues with the bath when we first arrived, which were communicated to the homeowner immediately. A plumber was organised ASAP, and we have no issues with the communication with the homeowner - we appreciated how quickly he responded to us. On the whole the apartment is fab, but needs some love to iron out a few issues.

Very clean and spacious with high ceilings and fantastic sea views. Very useful to have two bathrooms. Brilliant location just moments walk to centre of Woolacombe and the beach. We kept our recycling and put it in public recycling bins at end of stay. The parking space is on very steep slope which may be an issue for some. From 1st Oct there were no parking restrictions or charges for parking on The Esplanade so we found it easier to park on the road. Overall a brilliant stay and would certainly like to return.
