  • "A wonderful homely stay."

Kingfisher is fully equipped for a short or long stay. 10 mins walk to the lovely village with a pub, post office and shops. 20 minutes from Bideford and shopping park Atlantic village. Perfect base for exploring Devon and Cornwall. Hosts could not do enough to help us. With a small enclosed garden and a lake and meadow beyond it was great for our dog too. We stay for 6 weeks visiting family and we’ve booked again for January.

Thank you Tess for the fantastic feedback. We loved how much you felt at home staying in Kingfisher. It was great hosting you both and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year. Ernie is especially looking forward to seeing Lexi again! Property Owner

  • "What a fantastic little cottage!"

We had a great week here. Jo and Zak are lovely, friendly hosts, very welcoming. Everything is provided that you can want for and cake on arrival was very thoughtful and unexpected, thank you. We went with our two dogs and it was perfect, they have a lovely private garden with the cottage and also use their garden with a large pond to walk around so was perfect for a quick morning walk. Sat on a lovely country road just outside the village so very peaceful and not too far to walk to the local pub which serves great food. The village I would say is quite central so can go off in different directions easily depending on what suits you to do, inland/coast activities. Plenty of info available so you can choose what to do. Maybe some new advertising pics and defo underselling. Felt like a bargain. Thanks so much for a great holiday

Thank you Beth for the great feedback and review of Kingfisher Cottage. I am so pleased it ticked all the boxes for your stay. Your description of the cottage and location is exactly what we would be drawn to when choosing a holiday-let for ourselves. So I think this marks one of those moments when you realise you've got it just right! And on your recommendation I shall be contacting Helpful Holidays regarding new photos etc. Thanks again. • "We had a lovely week in Kingfisher cottage despite the weather!"

It is a well equipped cosy little holiday home, both Jo and Zak were friendly and helpful. They even supplied a welcome cake on our arrival which was a lovely surprise. The cottage was clean and well maintained. There is a low ceiling in the bathroom but we managed not to bump our heads and it really wasn't a problem. There was a plentiful supply of pamphlets and information about the location and beyond. The grounds are lovely and the walk around the huge pond was secluded and tranquil. Out little dog loved it. I would happily recommend it if you want a quiet country location to stay, the village is just a short walk and the pub food is good. We will happily book again.

Thank you so much for your feedback Kerry. You certainly made the best of the week despite the weather. It was great to meet you both. We hope to welcome you back again soon...fingers crossed for sunshine next time! Property Owner

  • "We have just had a short stay at the Cottage."

Ideal for the two of us and a dog. The Hosts were lovely, welcoming and polite but allowed you your own space etc. The cottage had everything you need and with a local shop 5 min walk away you do not need to arrive with a car full of provisions. The area is quite remote and you must be prepared to Drive to see Sites etc, but the plus side of that is that once you've had a busy day out sightseeing, the cottage is secluded enough to chill and relax in the evenings.

Thank you for the feedback Graham. You're spot on with your description of our location. That is why we love living here. And just to add, for those reading feedback before deciding if Kingfisher is the holiday cottage for you, a road map can often be more useful than satnav when negotiating our narrow country lanes. It was very welcoming on our arrival especially with the cake for us and some doggie biscuits for Pippa. It was in a great location for visiting both Devon and Cornwall. Jo and Zac seem to have thought of everything to make their guests comfortable. It was a strange week dodging showers or heavy rain and then by the death of our Queen.
