  • "Perfect for a short break."

Handy to visit Lyme Regis via the regular bus service with stops nearby. Enjoyed the Royal Oak pub a couple of hundred yards down the road.

  • "Nice flat, very clean and comfortable."

The only thing we missed was an outsider space to sit.

Many thanks for your visit and review. I note that you have marked low on facilities and mention no available outdoor space…but the flat does not mention or allude to having an outdoor space so I’m unsure what I can do or why you have expressed disappointment on this through your grading. • "The flat was dirty - there were crumbs on the sofa, rice on the side in the kitchen, half of a false eyelash on the steps and someone's hair and hairband in the bathroom."

There was dirty cutlery and crockery. There was a pile of dirt under the sofa. The bedroom as no ventilation as you cannot open a door or window and hence there is mould on the bottom open shelf. As there is no chest of drawers you would be hoping to use the open shelves but I wouldn't recommend it because of the mould. There were 2 broken hangers for your clothes which must hang behind the door. The bedroom is too light (no black out curtains) and too noisy (you sleep a few feet from the loud fridge) so take earplugs and an eyemask. The kitchen bin and bathroom bin are both broken. Huge folder full of info you could google but no instructions for the heating.

Really sad to read your negative comments, especially around the poor level of cleaning. That is irregular but obviously something that you regrettably experienced. I supply multiple wooden hangars which live in the main room cupboard. I’m not aware that any have been broken. A hanging rack is on the bedroom wall if guests want to hang light items. A cupboard is in the bedroom for clothes storage. Mold is a worrying comment for Summer…ventilation for the bedroom is via the fan in the bedroom window plus purpose vents in the escape door. My cleaners have not reported mold, so that alarms me. The heating is controlled by the NEST unit…turn to increase temperature and call for the heating to start. Hot water is on demand. Despite your disenchantment with the property, I hope that you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Great little property ."

Clean , lovely treat bag and milk in fridge on arrival . 10 min walk to Charmouth beach, fossils and sea glass aplenty . Lovely Chip shop , pub , convenience store all walking distance . Parking an issue - as no designated area - had to park away from property around corner up the hill a couple of times . We set the smoke alarm off with toaster - only way to ventilate property appears to be bathroom window and opening the door . If you love fossils and searching on the beach , overall it’s a great place to come and stay x

  • "Lovely little apartment and in a good position for access to the beach and starting walks."

The apartment is great if you’ve got a dog as it has tiled floors and therefore easy to clean, although no outdoor space this didn’t bother us as I wandered down to the beach for an early morning stroll. It is close to The Royal Oak, a very nice pub for lovely meals and within easy walking distance. All in all an ideal bolt hole for exploring this lovely area.

  • "We had a very comfortable time in your tastefully decorated property."

All the facilities were very convenient and in good working order. The ideal central location on The Street in Charmouth plus its close walk to the sea added to the charm of our stay. The gift pack was a much appreciated surprise.

  • "The bedroom is quite small with no opening windows(only the glass in a locked door ) no wardrobe or real storage."

Parking was very difficult which was a problem for us as my husband has limited mobility, may be not an issue out of season .Also be aware the flat is at the top of the hill away from all facilities, certainly got my exercise. Otherwise very well equipped with plenty of towels etc and a lovely welcome gift bag . There is a fabulous comfy large sofa , perfect for lounging on . We had a lovely week overall, good value , but wouldn’t return , not ideal for us .

  • "The property itself was comfortable and well provided."

Welcome pack was good. Concerns: Location: Issues with parking in summer, ventilation (limited opening windows), light (heavy blinds as on main road). Limited instructions re appliances (manuals were complicated - we never did work out the heating system). Refuse disposal appeared to be a different day from everyone else in the street. The drain blockage was distressing but dealt with very promptly - regular maintenance might be useful.

Thank you for your comments. The apartment is on a commercial waste collection scheme, so has different arrangements to residents. We ask guests to follow the rubbish instructions within the Welcome Folder. We will review our instructions for the use of the heating system to ensure they are easy to follow. You are right, it is a fabulous sofa and makes it hard to venture out into Charmouth as it is so comfy!
