  • "The cottage is comfy and easy to find tucked away in a very good location off the high street in St Marychurch, well equipped for two people, unfortunately it was let down by a few maintenance and cleaning issues, the tap in the kitchen is very loose and a safety issue and there are several damp patches were the paint is flaking off, the property was quite dusty throughout with cobwebs in the kitchen and bathroom, behind the tub chairs there was a big clump of presumably dog hair and a small piece of Christmas wrapping paper!"

! Dust and Paint flakes on the floor, the coffee in the canister was old and dried to the bottom along with out of date sauce sachets etc, there wasn't a tea towel or an oven glove, there is also building work been carried out on the roof of the property next door (happy apple) where the builders are playing loud music and singing by your bedroom window from 8:00am and the house in the corner is also being renovated, obviously some of these points are not the fault of the owners and apart from the building work (which didn't go on all day thankfully) it is lovely and quiet and with a little more attention to detail and better cleaning it would make an ideal holiday cottage

Thank you for your review and pleased you enjoyed the location and generally found the cottage comfy and quiet. (Apart from the roofing work next door which will hopefully be short lived and is of course out of our control) We will address the maintenance issues during the next void period which is this coming weekend. We will discuss and resolve all other issues with our cleaning contractor including checking the kitchen inventory and making sure any foodstuffs left by previous renters are removed. Kind Regards Sharon and Nick Update after visit last weekend. The Kitchen Tap has been repaired. The flaking paint caused by efflorescence has been removed sealed and painted. No damp was found - thankfully. Velux windows have been washed after the dust from the building work. Building work at the Happy Apple Shop now complete and scaffolding down. Property Owner
