  • "This is a beautiful cottage with beautiful surroundings we would definitely return,if I am being fussy the only small critique was that the games room to small for the pool table as you can't cue around it with a full size cue and it could definitely do with recover but otherwise we loved it."

  • "We have just got back from a lovely break at Posbury Lodge where we have had some real family time together enjoying the hot tub and games room as well as the jigsaws provided."

The cottage is chocolate box pretty and has everything you could need and more. I loved sitting outside and watching the sheep whilst I had my first cup of tea in the morning. It was a pleasure to meet Ruth who was kind enough to put our Tesco shop away when it arrived before us, thank you again :) We would all highly recommend Posbury Lodge.

The hot tub and games room an added bonus for the family to enjoy. We have stayed in many cottages over the years but this one is 100% better than others we've stayed in. The welcome pack and scones, jam and cream just lovely. Ruth the owner has thought of everything to make it home from home. We are hoping to return next year sometime as we enjoyed it so much.

Thank you for giving such lovely feedback. Hope to see you again next year. Property Owner

It was super well equipped and the hosts had thought of everything. There was absolutely nothing wanting. Beautiful cottage, beautiful views and we had an amazing week there. The kids and dogs loved the large enclosed garden and we all made great use of the hot tub. The place is super lovely and really felt like a home away from home. Amazing hosts and an amazing place. Highly recommend this place and we were all sad to leave.

Lovely welcome basket. Grandsons loved the games room. Ruth is a very thoughtful host. So many five star touches - even a brand new nailbrush in the bathroom! The hot tub was appreciated until the sun came out and it was too hot! Then we appreciated the thatch which is actually quite cooling. We all enjoyed watching the hay harvest going on in the neighbouring fields. We wouldn't change a thing.

So glad you were happy with the cottage & thank you for taking the time to give these lovely comments. It was very nice to meet you. Property Owner

  • "We had an absolutely fantastic time at this gorgeous cottage."

It definitely exceeded expections, it was cosy, comfortable and scrupulously clean. All the facilities at the lodge were excellent, in particular we loved the Aga stove, the games room and the hot tub was most welcome after a long day exploring the surrounding area. From a lovely introductory email to the amazing welcome basket (the best we’ve ever had anywhere), our host Ruth made us feel so welcome. The location was great for getting to all the places we wanted to see. Particular family favourites were Canonteign Falls and Castle Drogo, both well worth a visit. Our family would not hesitate to recommend the lodge to friends and family and we would definitely like to come back.

Thank you for these very kind comments. It is so nice to know that you had a good holiday & that what I am doing is meeting your expectations Hope to see you again in the future. Property Owner

The children loved their Christmas stockings, such a lovely thought. The cottage is amazing. Loved the experience of using the Aga! We had a great Christmas, a few great walks with our granddaughter. The birds in the hedges were amazing and the owl! (I think in the stables). Everything we needed was provided. The only advice I would give is to get an additional shower head on the bath. As a family of 7 we did struggle a bit with the bathroom.

Thank you for such nice feedback and glad you had a nice Christmas break. Will talk to the plumber about an extra shower head. Property Owner

Everything you could need is covered. The Aga is a bit of a challenge but once you worked out how to switch food around was ok. Amazing spacious rooms, lovely comfortable beds. Spotlessly clean throughout.Very quiet location. The garden is fully enclosed so your dogs can just run free while you sit in the hot tub watching them and there's also a large field next to the garden to use as well that is brilliant if you have dogs that will run all-day. Roads to the property are a bit narrow but with care easy to navigate.

It was well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The hot tub was a great touch as we all enjoyed spending time in there. The host was lovely, great email communication throughout. The children (three girls 4, 6 and 7) really enjoyed the books, in the bedrooms and having the option of watching one of many dvds whilst it was raining. Our little dog Max had a lovely stay, the enclosed garden is a great size. Overall, we couldn’t fault it. We will definitely be back.

Wi-fi and mobile phone coverage too unstable to ‘work from home’ or access the internet, but that’s understandable due to countryside location.

Fortunately BT have now brought Fibre broadband to the village and it will be installed at Posbury Lodge next week (25.04.23). Going forward internet access should be reliable & download speeds good. Property Owner

  • "Posbury Lodge is a delightful property."

Both inside and out everything has been thoughtfully considered by Ruth the owner who lives nearby and is very welcoming. We were greeted with a delightful provision of homemade scones, cream and jam, teabags , freshly ground coffee and the most amazing homemade chocolate eggs . As dog owners the garden was a joy as the fencing was completely secure and a really much appreciated touch was the outside Butler sink with hose to wash off the muddy paws . In the garden are well marked store cupboards for logs to purchase with an honesty box and another for the recycling and composting bins. The other lovely feature is a great games room accompanied with a hot tub on a terrace , although we did not use either in our stay , these would no doubt be a great bonus to guests relaxation. The inside layout of the cottage flows well with a lovely large double bedroom and single bedroom downstairs and upstairs an attractive double and twin rooms. There is a public footpath nearby for dog walking from the property. We very much enjoyed our stay here and explorations around the Devon countryside despite the week of rain .

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Posbury Lodge & I am so pleased you & your dogs enjoyed it. We are in a good location for exploring the various delights Devon has to offer and there are options if the weather is not perfect. Property Owner
