10 Customer Reviews

  • "3 West Park Mews was homely, with clean towels & bedding."

A bit of a damp smell in the bathroom which was a bit tired & in need of redecoration & the heated towel rail didn’t work. The kitchen also was very much in need of updating & the pans were tatty especially the frying pans. Also for us the living room furniture was very low & not very comfortable. Trying to watch TV was a joke, we were constantly waiting for it to buffer. Access to the property down the narrow lanes wasn’t great either. We really enjoyed our trip to Devon & for the time of year, end of September we were very lucky to have nice Autumn sunshine.

  • "Lovely accommodation."

Good location. Very quiet. Had a lovely holiday. However, emailed Sykes holidays twice during our stay but got no response. Telephoned Sykes before the holiday but recorded message said staff on that number could not answer queries and could only help with new bookings. The message said to call the owner of the property whose number was shown in the email. Guess what - it was the Sykes holidays office number. Terrible customer service. But I guess they don’t want to know once they’ve been paid!

We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at 3 West Park Mews although we are concerned to read you were unable to get through to the team during your stay. As this property is managed by the local team in Salcombe the phone number given is to our main switchboard however following the steps should have led you to a person to help with any queries you had. The same with emails, we cannot see any allocated to your booking so if you can let us know where these were sent we will look into what happened. We do pride ourselves on offering the best customer service and our local team are on hand for any issues. We hope you will come to visit the area again soon and back to 3 West Park Mews. • "Great area for a few days away I’ve stayed in hope cove a lot over the years ."

The whole organisation of it was great very easy to access the property and self explanatory notes when checked in. My only reservations about using that particular property again would be on the wetter days you can really feel the damp in the bedrooms so as it gets into the colder months I wouldn’t visit again. The level of cleanliness when we arrived as well was a little disappointing there was an awful lot of dog hair everywhere which we dealt with as there is a hoover supplied, as our dog was non moulting we definitely left the carpets cleaner than when we arrived .

Thank you for your review of your recent stay at 3 West Park Mews, it really is a great spot. We were surprised to see your comments regarding feeling damp in the property, as you will know it is an upside-down property with the bedroom's downstairs, this does mean they can get a little colder than the living area but there is heating within the property. During your stay the weather was extremely humid so we suspect the humidity and rain along with the cooler weather may have felt damp at times but there is no damp at the property. Again, we are sorry to read that you found a lot of dog hair on your arrival, we will raise this with the cleaner. If we had been made aware of this, we would have been able to send somebody out to remove this for you. We do hope you enjoyed your stay and all that the area has to offer. • "This is a really nice, and convenient, place to stay to visit Hope Cove."

We had some decent weather, which was a little unexpected, so we really appreciated the outdoor spaces. The property was very well maintained, with all the features and facilities we could wish for. The only slight niggles were: The banister only went halfway along the stairs The bed was too soft for me (bad back) but that is purely a personal preference Thanks for a great break in Hope Cove

  • "A lovely property within walking distance to the beach, bars/restaurants and shop."

The accomodation was comfortable and ideal for two. We did struggle with the hot water controls, as the boost mechanism worked randomly and was needed for a hot bath in the evening, after a long day walking.

  • "Very well equipped accommodation in a great location."

Kitchen facilities were brilliant and the lounge area very cosy. Weather not good enough to sit outside but the balcony area would be great in the warmer weather.

  • "We had a lovely stay."

On entering the property it smelled very fresh. There was everything we needed for our stay. The weather was not great with high winds and rain but the cottage was cosy and the log burner was a great bonus. No distance to walk to the beach but dogs are restricted to before 10 am on one beach and have to be on leads on the other beach. Coastal path was very close. Lots of places to eat in Hope Cove.

About the location

HOPE COVE

Salcombe 4.6 miles; Kingsbridge 5.1 miles

The picturesque and unspoiled village of Hope Cove lies in the sheltered curve of Bigbury Bay on Devon’s south coast. A choice destination for families, the two beaches offering soft sand and rock pools for sandcastle building and fishing for small crabs. The town remains a fishing village where crabs and lobsters are still landed, however it was once used by smugglers. Many ships have perished around the coast and the wrecks that lie beneath the waves make it a popular spot for divers. Above the beach there are a number of pubs and restaurants. The coastal footpath can be joined from here and leads towards Bigbury-on-sea in one direction and the coastal resort of Salcombe in the other.
