"We found the property very compact and feel that the two cottages, Robin and Wren would benefit from knocking into one property."
Having said that, we enjoyed our holiday and as we were only there for a week it didn’t bother us too much.
-
"Idyllic location and absolutely loved the "on the doorstep access to the coastal walks and private beach."
" Friendly welcome. Tasteful decor with a warm homely feel. Definately will visit again.
-
"Well worth a stay cottages and area around cottages very clean and welcoming."
Lovely to see animals roaming around the farm. Nice walk down to the private beach. Many thanks for a great holiday. Regards Peter

"I had a Covid diagnosis on the day I should have travelled."
Asked the owner of the cottage via Sykes if I could move my 3 night stay onto a date in the future and this was declined. I therefore couldn't recommend this cottage out of principle.
-
"As predicted the cottage is very small but it's cosy and the setting is lovely."
Some of the contents need updating for example frying pans that stick also minimal saucepans etc The bed is comfy but one side is against the wall so difficulty getting in and out for one person Take care when bending over in the bathroom as towel rail got very hot

"This is an idyllic location for a relaxing holiday, dogs are welcome and the surrounding scenery is so beautiful, this is our second visit and we will certainly will come again."
-
"Superbly positioned, scenery stunning and owners very helpful and friendly."
Dog walking facilities excellent but could do with some lighting at night when dark in the dog exercise area. Overall we had an brilliant time and would certainly return. Thank you for a great holiday!
-
"Beautiful surroundings and complex area, very picturesque, perfect Dog walking ,ideal private pebble beach."
Stunning views. Grounds very clean and tidy , well maintained. NOTE: Cottage very small 272 sq ft. Less than a small static Caravan. Bedroom tiny only allowing space one side to get in to double bed. Climbing over each other at our time of life is far from ideal. No space for bedside tables. Anyone with disabilities would struggle !, as we sadly found out

"Very good, clean cottage."
Amazing scenery. Overall a great holiday

"The cottage was placed in lovely grounds of a beautiful house, surrounded by countryside and the sea."
It such a treat having the private beach that we could walk down to. The cottage was comfortable and clean - very enjoyable mini break. .

"What a wonderful stay!"
The cottage was small but nicely furnished and had everything we needed. The doggy treats on arrival were a nice addition. The location is beautiful and the fact there is a private beach, and, it’s directly on the coastal path was brilliant. The lovely lamas were an added bonus. I’d definitely stay here again!

"This property is absolutely minute even for two and I didn't appreciate that from the photos and description at the time of booking given a similar booking made in the summer elsewhere, and the price point compared to other accommodation in this area at this time of year (and my unrelated summer holiday booking)."
I have been toying about whether the accommodation was value for money given the location etc compared with another property that I was looking at down the road, was £100 cheaper (25%), considerably bigger and slept 6! Given that there was also no wifi, no welcome pack (due to Covid! Though it was okay to leave alpaca food), the mattress needed replacing, everything was crammed into such a small space, and we were tripping over ourselves, and given all that I'm not sure that I would come back. However we did enjoy our stay, and enjoyed the novelty factor of the alpacas, goats and sheep. The booking process was easy and we were kindly let into the property early. In the height of summer I'm not sure that people would appreciate a 6pm check in time, and how much longer you can use Covid as an excuse for that. Thanks for having us

"The cottage is perfect for 2 people its cosy has everything you need, in a beautiful location."
Really friendly helpful owners. Animals on farm you can go and visit and feed. The private beach is very peaceful a lovely addition to go and relax. I would recommend this cottage to my friends family. And would definitely stay again.

"The access to the private beach allows you to launch a kayak at anytime, also this beach is very sheltered making it perfect for children."
Robin cottage wash room is tight on space, to the point that the narrow door hits the wash basin preventing the door from opening fully, if your a extra large person this could be a problem.

"It was delightful , beautiful setting and very comfortable accommodation but very compact ."
Only real issue was total lack of WiFi which was frustrating… only able to text , make calls or use the internet by going outside .
-
"Loved the cottage, it delivered so much more then advertised!"
Feeding the animals everyday was an amazing experience, the land that is around the cottage has the most incredible views and the private beech is excellent. No doubt that i'll be booking this again next year. Amazing!

"Lovely place to go, the owners are fabulous people who are around for anything."
Couldn't find any faults other than the weather.
-
"We read that the cottage would be cleaned well after dog owners used the cottage , in our case it was not it smelt of dogs ."
The lampshades had thick dust on them , a wet mop in a bucket was left in the cottage . The cottage should be advertised as dog owners only .We have not got any problems with dogs but the cleanse has to be there if dogs are welcomed

"Robin cottage was clean and tidy and we knew that it was small so that was not a problem."
But unfortunately it wasn't clear to me that it did not have any garden at all. I had read that it had a shared courtyard with furniture which I expected to be joined to the property. As it was the courtyard was along the road from us. Stepping out through our front door you were on the road itself, and we found it quite awkward for our dog especially in the middle of the night if he needed a wee. I think there were only two cottages without enclosed outside space and I feel that this should be made clear when booking as unsuitable for dogs. Lastly the walk to the pub and shop was pretty difficult as the only way to go was so overgrown. The pub was worth it once you made it there though and the food was lovely.

"The Robin Cottage is extremely well sited to allow easy access to the SW Coast Path, Exmoor and other coastal and inland places of interest."
The cottage is well appointed and is set in grounds that are available for guests to explore and relax in. The picturesque private (pebble) beach is a real bonus. There are ample places to eat and drink nearby, many within reasonable walking distance.

"It was a lovely cottage in superb surroundings."
Would recommend to anyone

"Fabulous cottages in beautiful surroundings."
Fun being able to walk down to private beach through the animal fields, being followed by alpacas is an experience, we cannot wait to visit again with our grandchildren.

"Widmouth Farm Cottages Location is Ideal very much tailored around accommodating pets, However in our opinion Robin Cottage does not meet a 4* rating, The Cottage was clean but very tiny, when we viewed the Gallery on your website there was only one or two interior photos which did not clearly indicate how small and cramped it is."
Additionally the furniture was extremely uncomfortable which is why we decided to return home a day earlier. The Shower Room was also uncomfortably small, The door hit the washbasin only allowing the door to open part of the way, A larger person would certainly find using the Shower Room very difficult indeed. On your website if you view the gallery for other Cottages at Widmouth they are much more descriptive with many photos which in our case led us to a false illusion for what to expect. We did not feel we had good value for money.

"Beautiful location and views."
The private beach is a real bonus especially with a water loving dog. Absolute peace and tranquility.
-
"Lovely bijou cottage, loved the secure fenced dog exercise field and the beach where our dog first swam with another visiting friendly dog."
Friendly owners and we enjoyed the cream tea on our arrival.

With spectacular sea views, a private beach and 35 acres of beautiful headland to wander through, this really is a perfect setting for a holiday cottage. The owners, who live on the farm along with their sheep, goats, alpacas, pigs, chickens and ducks, provide a huge welcome to guests who just love to help at animal feeding time, walking their dog along the coast path or just relaxing on the private beach, just 500 yards from the cottages. The beach reveals a large sandy expanse at low tide when you can swim, fish or walk around to Watermouth Harbour and return on the coast path with stunning views across the bay. The cottages are beautifully presented; some have sea views and share the play area, dog exercise field, laundry facilities and picnic area where you could spend hours relaxing with some locally-sourced goodies whilst gazing at the spectacular sea views and glorious sunsets over Samson’s Bay. The cottages are a couple of miles from the unspoilt village of Berrynarbor, with a welcoming pub and village shop. Explore Watermouth Castle, the award-winning Tunnels beach and Combe Martin Wildlife Park, all of which are close to the cottages. Alternatively, visit Ilfracombe, where Damian Hirst's Verity statue rests above the picturesque harbour, and the bustling seafront has many good-quality restaurants and bars, along with small independent shops. If you can tear yourself away from the splendid setting of Widmouth Farm and its private beach, then the three mile long sandy beach at Woolacombe, which holds the England for Excellence Gold Award for best family resort and was voted the Best British Beach in the Mail On Sunday, is a short drive away. This really is a truly stunning location to spend relaxation time with your four-legged friends.
