  • "A delightful cottage in a good, quiet location."

Comfortable, clean, and well equipped. The only issue was the car parking, as has been mentioned by several other reviewers. On two occasions we couldn't park at the end of the road (50m up from the cottage), but there was always plenty of space on the main road (only a minute away). Not a major issue for us, but it could be for those with mobility problems.

  • "Lovely cottage set in the quiet town of Bere Regis, a great base to explore East Dorset."

The cottage was very clean and was very tastefully decorated and furnished. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen facilities were excellent with washing machine, dishwasher and fridge freezer. Just a couple of issues. It was cold weather during our stay and although the thermostat might be suggesting 20 degrees, it was too cold to relax so we had to boost the temperature frequently. The thermostat had been set overnight for 6 degrees, which was far too low. We did notice that the settings we applied reverted back to a lower/colder setting, which was irritating and simply meant we had to keep adjusting the thermostat to maintain warmth and comfort. The parking was not really ideal, as there were usually commercial vans parked up the road by the church where we were asked to park. Loading and unloading was fraught as we had to keep moving the car to make way for passing vehicles.

  • "Bathroom window should have a blind fitted to give privacy at night when the light is on."

Water is extremely slow to drain from the bathroom sink. Some operating instructions for both the microwave and dishwasher would be a great help.

Many thanks for your feedback, it is always appreciated to ensure we are constantly improving our guests experience. As soon as your feedback was received the slow draining sink was resolved. For future guests we will ensure that there is a step by step guide for operating instructions for electrical appliances. Property Owner

  • "We loved staying at White Cottage, and it was a great base from which to explore the area between Bournemouth, Poole, Wareham and Dorchester."

The neighbours were very friendly, and recommended some walks for us to take with the children and dogs. They also waxed lyrical about what lovely people the owners of White Cottage were, which is not something I've experienced before with a holiday let! There was some popcorn left on the floor under one of the chairs in the sitting room, but apart from that we had no complaints about the cleanliness of the property. However, the bottle of toilet cleaner was empty and the only cleaning product we could find at the end of our stay was one bottle of multi-surface cleaner. The dishwasher tablets and Fairy liquid were appreciated, though. The food caddy was also missing, and we had to buy compostable bags for food waste (which ended up in the general waste due to the absence of a food caddy) and to use as liners in the three rubbish bins upstairs. We agree with earlier reviewers that it would have been nice to have the second bed made up in the small bedroom when we arrived late at night with tired children, and that a "Mind your head" sign is needed on the stairs. Apart from these small niggles, the cottage, and especially the kitchen, was very well equipped and we enjoyed eating in a few times during our four night stay. We also enjoyed sampling Devon Tea and other local delicacies from the lovely hamper that was left for us, and very much appreciated the milk in the fridge as well.

Many thanks thanks for your feedback, we are sorry to read the issues with the cleaning and the bed not being made on your arrival. We will address this with Dreams. Unfortunately Dorset commercial waste do not offer a food waste option. We do use the cottage a lot ourselves and try to make it a home from home for our guests so we are pleased to hear you enjoyed it to. Best regards Neil & Lisa Property Owner

  • "Hi we all enjoyed a stay at the cottage, a couple of points, there was no toilet paper when we arrived which necessated a trip to the local store."

The bath room door needs a hook, and a lock. A house broom instead of a yard broom. A notice on stairs, mind you head. Courtyard could be brightened up a bit, possibly a mural. All in all we found everything else ok. Many thanks. John, Sandra and Aimee.

Many thanks for your feedback and that you enjoyed your stay. Apologies for the lack of toilet paper on your arrival and we will address this with Dreams. A door lock will will be fitted to the bathroom as per your recommendation. Best Regards Neil & Lisa Property Owner

  • "We loved our short break at White cottage."

It was spotlessly clean on arrival and the welcome hamper was a lovely treat. The cottage had everything we needed and was perfect for our small family (2 young boys). It would have been nice if the second bedroom had been set up for 2 rather than one and the plastic shelf/holder in the fridge was cracked which may be a problem for others. We are hoping to come back soon for a longer stay and would definitely recommend it to others. Thank you!

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay at White Cottage. I am sorry that the second bed wasn’t made up on your arrival and I will speak to Dream Cottages to ensure that this doesn't happen again. We have ordered a new shelf for the fridge but unfortunately it hadn’t arrived before your stay. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future. Best Regards Neil & Lisa Property Owner

  • "Lovely location and it is a lovely cottage, however, it just looked a bit tired."

It needs a little bit of TLC. A few minor issues with the bathroom, the cooker, the garden and the furniture there. Some bits definitely need a bit of a clean and freshen up. Having said that, we would return.

Great location to explore all the beaches within 10 to 20 miles. Parking at top 1 min away. Great dog walks 1 min away. Shop and pub 1 min away. Local people were very friendly. I thought it was good value for the money.

  • "A very tastefully decorated and furnished property with quality crockery ( though a little afraid to use this due to the cost of replacement!"

). Let down by the property management eg in main bedroom; dusty shelf, snack packet and used tissue under bed, bathroom; toilet block had run out. Laundry bag of used towels left by front door in lounge, with us all week. For us, the lack of a parking space was a deal breaker, local residents obviously tense about it, on both unloading and re loading we had to hold up a vehicle , not pleasant. So, we feel cottage is priced too high, sorry!

Thank you very much for your feedback and apologies for any inconvenience caused. It’s always good to receive either negative or positive as we are always trying to improve and make your stay more enjoyable. We to we’re surprised at the laundry bag being left and some of the cleaning issues as this has not happened before. Having spoke to the supervisor he is is unable to explain how this happened and apologised for their oversight. I would however advised you to contact the management company and they would have rectified any problems immediately. With regards to the parking, White Cottage is situated up a narrow road but there is ample parking at the top of the road once unloaded. Property Owner

  • "White cottage is fabulous."

The cottage and outside seating area has been very well designed and decorated. The kitchen is stocked to an extremely high standard. We had no issues with parking during our stay and found the residents of the village very pleasant. Although no parking directly in front of the cottage , at the top of the road which is a dead end , no more than a 10 second walk , there is plenty of space to park your car. Lovely property in a great location
