  • "The property looks a high quality apartment in your brochure and probably was after it was last refurbished but not now, the bed is very uncomfortable, bedding was white but now yellowed with age, bedroom carpet stained, the lounge settee very uncomfortable, TV very small and poor picture, the apartment is worn and tired, paintwork is scruffy, skirting boards are dusty and stained, windows and doors do not fit properly, seal has come away from the living room juliet balcony door, kitchen tap has loose cold handle, the communual stairway smells of fried fish, loading and unloading of luggage hard work due to no direct road accessibility, certainly very poor value for money, will definitely not be returning."

  • "When we arrived the property wasn't as clean as expected."

Bifold doors still difficult to open and close as reported in previous reviews. Also blind pully in bedroom broke, also previously reported. Apartment very well situated and equipped but the price charged we would expect better. Did look at booking for next July starting on the 4th but cannot justify the £1600 fee.

Thank you for your review. Please rest assured that the issues you have raised will be looked at again by our maintenance team. The Bifold doors have recently been serviced so we will ensure this is followed up. July and August are our peak months with very high demand so the prices are elevated in comparison to a quieter month such as January etc. Except for the issues that you have encountered, we do hope you have enjoyed your stay and hopefully we will see you back in Dorset in the near future. Com, it was a pleasure to deal with the helpful team at Lyme Bay Holidays and Sykes. They were friendly, polite and helpful. The apartment was fabulous.

  • "We were really disappointed with the apartment for the price."

The location is great and the owners can do nothing about noise but there is a bar close by that had very loud music and singing until 11pm. As others have mentioned in their reviews, there are persistent maintenance issues. The blind in the bedroom is broken. The doors are extremely difficult to open. To be required to strip your bed is odd and we could not find the location of the bins so had to carry our rubbish out with us. The apartment is very comfortable, very well located and has everything you need for a self catering property but for the price it should not have maintenance issues repeatedly raised to the owners and not addressed. Would not recommend the apartment if you want peace and quiet but this is not the owners issue.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay. The location is very central and on the seafront. The property is fairly advertised with the restaurant located below. The blind and doors have been fixed but we apologise this was not attended to before your stay. All guests are asked to strip the beds in all of our properties to allow our Linen Team to collect and drop off the linen. The rubbish instructions will be reviewed and adjusted appropriately. We appreciate you taking the time to leave your comments. The Lyme Bay Team. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful location, we went to sleep each night listening to the sound of waves breaking on the beach."

A note on the bifold doors, they are not broken but are a bit stiff - it’s worth persevering as it makes the whole stay. The handles fold out an inch then turn to unlock, unlock both and then a bit of tugging gets them open

So happy to hear you like the location, being close enough to hear the sounds of the beach is one of the best features of this property. The doors have been serviced now and are in good working order. Hope to see you again soon. The Lyme Bay Team. Property Owner

  • "Great stay thank you, perfect location, all went smoothly, it was also a surprise to be offered a car park voucher which wasn’t offered last time we stayed."

A couple of maintenance issues, the bifold doors were impossible for myself to open & close & the handle kept falling off the bedroom door. It would also be nice to be offered an earlier check in. Thank you again for a lovely stay.

Lovely to hear you enjoyed your stay. The property does now come with a parking permit for a near by car park which we are delighted to offer to guests. The doors have been serviced and are working normally now, apologies that you had trouble during your stay. We try to let guests go in early where we can but during the warmer months, it is likely that we will have to stick to the 4pm check in time so our teams can properly service all of the properties in time. We very much hope that we will see you again soon. The Lyme Bay Team. Property Owner

There was information missing from the instructions folder this time with reference to the alarms and fire procedure also tourist attraction information that has been there before. We have always been happy with our stay here and hope to book again for next year. Thank you.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. We will make sure any instructions are put in the welcome folder. Hope to see you soon. The Lyme Bay Team. Property Owner

  • "This is a wonderful apartment, exactly as i was expecting it is very comfortable, and well equipped."

the views are wonderful the shower is very powerful, and it has a dishwasher and washing machine which are huge bonuses, although i didnt need them key collection is very easy, and the agency were easy to deal with it was everything i wanted if i am being critical, the walk to the car park is quite steep and exhausting, and.... the patio door in the lounge has a broken seal which made it difficult to close. but it wasnt an issue but on balance it was perfect thankyou

Thank you for your lovely feedback, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We have asked our maintenance team to attend to investigate and resolve the door issue. We hope to welcome you back soon. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "This is a really lovely holiday apartment, very well equipped and decorated."

The only slight criticism I would make is the limited seating; the sofa is rather hard and not very comfortable and the position of the arm chair makes it practically useless. I'd suggest putting a small sofa/chaise-longue where the TV is and moving the TV where the armchair is, and replacing the sofa with a nice comfortable recliner.

  • "For us the location, the apartment, the views from the apartment were excellent."

There was a welcome bottle of cider and tea bags, but no other basics like salt, pepper, kitchen towel etc. As with the majority of small fishing coastal towns parking can be in issue. Lyme Regis is no different. We needed daily 24 hour parking for the week. There are two main carparks - Holmbush car park which you need to book well in advance, and Woodmead Carpark plenty of spaces. Buy a weekly ticket at the pay point £60 . Apart from the missing basics this apartment was well worth the trials and tribulations on the M5 to get there
