  • "Lovely house with fast wifi which is essential to us."

Water pressure is a little low but that was our only grumble. The place is roomy, every bedroom is large, as is the family bathroom. Ensuite in the back bedroom and another shower room downstairs. We loved the luxury bath towels and welcome touches in the kitchen. The owner left us a welcome card an phoned to ensure everything was going to plan. The house is a mile from the beach with a direct pathway straight to the clock tower on the promenade. The totally enclosed garden is ideal for our dog. Would we stay again - YES

  • "We were a family of nine."

We had a lovely holiday at The White Cottage. There was plenty of room, the house was nice and clean and well equipped. The location is perfect for the beach about a 10-15 minute walk. There is a garden which was very handy for drying the washing and nice enough to sit in. The kitchen is a good size, we managed to sit all nine of us around the table but there is also a breakfast bar and a couple of stools. The owner popped over to make sure we had everything we needed and gave us her details if there were any problems. We would definitely return as it suited us very well

  • "My family and I had a lovely week staying at The White Cottage."

There was a nice welcome tray with tea, coffee and biscuits waiting for us on arrival. Milk and juice in the fridge...a generous touch from Joy the owner. The house had everything we needed and all the rooms were a generous size. The garden was good for the grandchildren to play in and well secured. Location was good and within easy walking distance to the beach and promenade.

  • "We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the”White Cottage”, facilities were great, and due to its location, saved a fortune in car parking, as it was just a short walk to the main “Clocktower”, so the car stayed at the cottage, only one day of rain out of the 2 weeks we stayed, made all the difference with 2 full weekends, but even then it was too short, always more to do."

Special mention to “JOY” who was our link between “SYKES” the property managers, she was amazing, our every need was anticipated and catered for, her name says it all, I’d be happy to stay anywhere with someone like her overseeing the holiday. Thank you for a great family holiday.

  • "Enjoyed our stay, Lovely house spacious bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, biscuits and refreshments for when we arrived, which was lovely."

Had a couple of requests for maintenance dealt with in less than an hour, nothing to much trouble, only thing I would say is seating in kitchen could be better, very basic, but this may be due to being able to take dogs, close to beach and several supermarkets.

So pleased you enjoyed your stay and found the house lovely with spacious bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen. It was a pleasure to host you and I look forward to you visiting again soon. The seating in the kitchen has now been upgraded to a stylish leatherette dining sofa and bench - perfect for relaxing and chatting around the table. Property Owner

The owner does go above and beyond for her guests. We were holidaying with our 18th month old granddaughter and we found there wasn’t a stair gate. I contacted the owner and she immediately went out and purchased one and brought it straight round to the cottage. There was also an excellent welcome pack which essentials you would need. The cottage itself is very comfortable and well stocked with plates, cups and glasses. We were a group of 10 and never found we were short of anything, including plastic plates and cups for the children. Thank you, great stay.

It was very clean and comfortable and only a short walk to the Esplanade, bars, etc. The ensuite toilet didn't always flush sufficiently and I found it difficult to regulate the temperature in the ensuite shower. However, we had a lovely weekend and would recommend this accommodation to others.

Thank you for your feedback, I am so pleased that you had a lovely weekend and would recommend The White Cottage, Weymouth, to others. I have checked the ensuite toilet and the added more water to the cistern. The shower can take a few moments to regulate temperature and full details on use are in the welcome folder. We had 4 adults and 3 children in our party and there was more than enough space within the house. The house was light, spacious and had all of the home comforts. The cleanliness of the house was excellent and there was a lovely welcome pack left for us. The owner came to say hello and was available by telephone or text message if needed. The house is about a 10 minute walk from Weymouth front and has great access to the big supermarkets on the Dorcester Road (Morrisons, Sainsburys, Lidl and Aldi) which are all within a 2-5 minute drive. We had some lovely days out and went to Ringstead Beach, which is a pebble beach but lovely and quiet. Nothe Fort is a great half day adventure and Portland is beautiful. For the best fish and chips head to Bennetts by the harbour!!! All in all a fabulous holiday and a great house to stay in. We will definitely be back!

Thank you for your feedback. In your more detailed feedback, you gave 4/4 (the best mark) for Cleanliness, Comfort, and Facilities and Maintenance which is great – so pleased that you found these aspects to be the highest quality. Thank you for your feedback on location, which you gave 3 out of 4. As The White Cottage is located just outside the town centre, there is more parking available, in addition to the two off road parking spaces, and it is in a slightly quieter environment, whilst also being equal distance, around a 10-minute walk to both Greenhill beach and the main town beach. It was big enough for our two families, the teenagers being able to have space away from the adults. The house was immaculately clean, with everything we needed. The utility room was fabulous for coats, boots and storage. The fully enclosed garden was excellent for our dog, who could sniff around completely safely. It was an easy 10-15 minute to walk to the beach front from the house( if you cut though the estate by the train station.) We enjoyed the harbour area with many good pubs and places to eat. Thank you Joy for the lovely welcome pack and bring on hand to ask any questions.

  • "The white cottage is with in easy reach of the town about a 10-15 minute walk away, the home was very clean but was lacking a few basic things ( washing line, can opener ) maybe not essential to everyone but things we missed."

The house is a good size and accommodated us all well with sleeping/eating/sofas.The house doesn’t have a tumble dryer ( totally understand with the cost of electric but since no washing line made it hard to wash/dry clothes. When we arrived we had no heating but was fixed later that day. The only negative for us was we had a problem and we couldn’t arrive until the next day of our holiday we noticed the property had no bookings after ours so asked the booking agent if we could move our holiday Saturday to Saturday was told yes that fine but it would be an extra charge which would have been 1,322 more than what we paid for the original booking I did query if they meant the difference and was told no I would need to pay 1,322 more. When I looked at changing the days ie instead of the fri/fri to a stat/sat at different times though out the year the cost stay the same amount, which obviously seemed unfair. But overall we enjoyed our stay at the white cottage.

Thank you for your feedback. I am so pleased you found The White Cottage was ideally located and very clean. The feedback regarding the missing tin opener was very useful - I have now replaced this with two new ones. I have added an additional clothes airer, which can be used on the back patio if sunny or in the spacious upstairs hallway. Apologies regarding the confusion on changing your booking. It's great you enjoyed your stay at The White Cottage and I look forward to welcoming you back soon. Property Owner

  • "We stayed in The White Cottage with 2 adults and 6 teenagers."

It was lovely to find a box of biscuits, tea, milk, sugar and coffee when we arrived, not that the biscuits lasted long! Great layout of rooms for our needs and really comfortable beds. No pressure on getting everyone through showers/baths with three bathrooms and the laundry room was really useful. Lovely decor throughout, very new and fresh. There were ample good quality towels and crockery, cutlery, glasses, saucepans etc. I did call to report that the larger frying pan wasn’t induction hob compatible and the lovely owner Joy came round just a few hours later with two new ones. Excellent service. If you have dog with you, the garden is completely enclosed and dog safe. Our group of 15 and 17 year olds were able to walk into town and to the beach quickly and felt safe coming back after dark. They enjoyed the independence and found lots to do in Weymouth from snorkelling to SUP, the beach, the funfair and pitch and putt/mini golf. We enjoyed them being independent! Thank you, we very much enjoyed our stay.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback. So pleased you had a lovely holiday and found The White Cottage perfect for your stay. I agree the location is great for the town centre and beach, just a quick walk away. Really glad you contacted regarding the frying pans and that I was able to bring some new ones quickly. It had everything we needed and more! The rooms are all great sizes and comfortable. There was a travel cot and high chair which wasn’t in the listing, this was useful as we had a little one. The kitchen was well equipped. The garden does need some TLC but it didn’t matter to us. We would definitely book again if we were holidaying in Weymouth.

  • "Such a beautiful holiday house but severely let down by the garden."

It’s like a prison yard with unsafe slabs and no interest in it at all. The house however is great, once inside it’s quiet, comfortable and well appointed. Beds are lovely, rooms spacious and most things new. Cooker very difficult to work out and use so after first night we ate out. Nice welcome to have tea and biscuit’s. Great location for town and ok parking. Area not the best but a good base if garden was better loved.

Thank you for your feedback. The White Cottage has a walled garden, with a main patio area that has been relayed in 2022. As there is a wall around the garden (apart from gate), it’s ideal for pets. So pleased that you found the house great, comfortable and well appointed. The hob is an induction hob so very responsive and quick to heat up. It is easy to clean and quick to wipe over. We’ll add further notes to the property information folder so that guests find this easy to use. So pleased you found the welcome tray a nice addition. Thank you for your comment on location – it is just a ten-minute walk to main and Greenhill beach and the town. Property Owner

  • "Recent painting/decorations left some surface dust on carpets, otherwise was very nice."

Garden could do with some work as was full of stinging nettles and brambles so our child couldn't use the garden. Front bedroom roller blind didn't work and ensuite shower temperature wouldn't regulate. Other than small minor issues a very nice stay with a fairly close walk to beach and shops.

Thank you for your valuable feedback and we are glad you enjoyed your stay at White Cottage. As we accommodated you at very short notice the scheduled garden maintenance visit was put back until after your stay so you were not disturbed during your holiday. The shower has since been checked and is working fine. In very hot weather the power needs to be lowered to regulate the temperature. The blind has since been realigned. Rest assured that any issues encountered during your stay would have been dealt with immediately if you alerted us. We look forward to welcoming you back to Dream Cottages again soon. Property Owner
