  • "Apple tree cottage was a little smaller than I expected but I soon got used to its size and found it very comfortable and well equipped."

A great location for visiting all that Dorset has to offer.

  • "Lovely and secluded spot, very comfortable and had everything we needed for a short break."

Would have been even better had there been more than 4 items of cutlery and a couple more decent wine glasses perhaps? The water was very hot and could possibly do with being turned down if at all possible and the TV didn’t work, wasn’t a problem as we brought our own Firestick. Perfect walks from the doorstep meant we didn’t use the car much and there was a good pub within a pleasant 25 minute walk. Fab location, would definitely return.

  • "The cottage was small but comfortable ."

Super location for visiting attractive villages and nearby beaches - which we did every day . Bed very comfortable, great shower, plenty of hot water and a super hairdryer (trivial point but you rarely get a good one in a holiday let ). It was very warm in the conservatory, but we were there during a hot spell. Great place to stay in an area we know and love. Ringstead Bay glorious for swimming .

Everything was thought of, from having dog toys, bags and a dog towel. It was such a lovely relaxing stay, and I will be definitely recommending it to my friends and family.

  • "Lovely location, just what we’d hoped for with our weekend break with the dog."

Couldn't connect to the wifi but that didn’t bother us and we enjoyed the lack of connectivity. Data was limited but it was a rural location so not unexpected. Hope to stay again in the future.

  • "Good accomodation there are however a few points that I need to report."

On your directions it states that the signpost to the cottage is to Ringstead Bay but it only says to Ringstead, a bit confusing. The front door is difficult to lock both from inside and outside . The window blind opposite the front door does not retract correctly so it will damage the fabric . The bathroom sink doesn't hold water . We had a problem with WiFi and the TV but your engineer came within an hour of contacting you and returned the TV and rebooted the WiFi so all was ok . Car parking is no easy especially if there are four cars parked as it is blind leaving the cottage onto the lane .

  • "1.Lack of storage space 2."

Cleanliness: behind bed headboard & under sofa 3. toilet roll holder hanging off wall 4.No terrestial TV(co-axial cable hanging off of back of TV). 5 Bathroom sink slow to drain, also drains when sink plug fitted (very annoying!) 6.Rat in garden 7. Snail slime across shoes left overnight on kitchen step 8 Parking access difficult with two other cars parked.8 Spare toilet roll and bin liners would have been useful. I think a small refund should be considered here!!!

Thank you very much for your feedback. Regarding your comments, we do have a great property maintenance team available to guests, who would have been more than happy to pop round & resolve these issues straight away for you (number is clearly stated in the welcome pack). They have all now been resolved. Kind regards Kevin Property Owner

  • "Lovely setting, good location and a very nice cottage."

Thought had gone in to providing extras like dog bowls, towels, welcome folder, maps etc which made for a good stay. However, bathroom needed some care and attention as in toilet was leaking and sink was also leaking - bath and shower needed a good deep clean. Kitchen appearance good but cupboard shelves, pots and cutlery needed a thorough clean - we washed pots and glasses before use. Kitchen bin found mouldy lemon and olives in the bottom - gave it a good spray but probably still needs attention.

Hi Sheila Thank you very much for your review and for your feedback, we do appreciate it and always look to improve things for our guests. Our plumber has been in this week and he has rectified the issues in the bathroom. Regarding the cleaning we will discuss this with the housekeeping team and ask them to schedule more regular deep cleans as well as the normal change over cleans. Best wishes Tina Property Owner

Only one minor point - bath/shower could do with a bathmat as it is slippy when using shower gel.

Dear Terence, Thank you very much for your feedback. I will arrange for a bath mat to be left for future stays. Best wishes, Tina Property Owner

  • "Lovely cosy comfy cottage."

We just had to minor niggles. Two of the blinds would not go back up. The solar lights on the walk way only stayed on for a short time.

Thank you so much for your feedback and also for letting us know about the blinds. That is quite disappointing to hear as they were only purchased and fitted earlier in the summer. With regard to the solar lights, unfortunately with the shortening days they don’t get so much sun and therefore a full charge. We will look to rectify both of these issues when we close for maintenance. Thanks Tina Property Owner

On arrival I found the cutlery draw had not been cleaned had grease and even a hair.My partner moved the sofa and found a layer of dust underneath. The bathroom had mould on tiles and on wall next to sink.My partner cleaned these off with the anti bacteria spray provided.Such a shame because so much was well thought out.

Hi Carol Thank you so much for letting us know about these issues. We have contacted the cleaning team & will ensure they are addressed immediately. Thank you. Kind regards Tina Property Owner

The shower was leaking via the washer in the head and the water ran alone the tiled part of the bath on to the floor by the sink. There was a musty smell in wardrobe and around the headboard area of the bed. Over all nice place but needs some TLC in some areas mentioned. Over all makes for a base to stay if you have a dog and the parking was good.

Hi Paul Many thanks for your review and for highlighting these issues. The maintenance team has now been in and hopefully resolved everything. Tina Property Owner

  • "We thought the property was pretty, unusual and interesting."

The kitchen was well equipped and that is important to us. Our dog enjoyed it too. She managed to escape the gate a couple of times but came to no harm. A better latch might be a plan though. We enjoyed the location and managed to walk to the superb Smugglers Arms. Sadly, we only realised that this was possible on the last evening. There were two negatives, for us, but accept that both would be difficult to solve. The conservatory got very, very warm even on moderately sunny days. It was stifelling when we first arrived. It is very small, even for just 2 people and a dog. There was nowhere to store anything. But we still enjoyed our stay. The tiny garden area was charming and gets sun pretty well all day.

Dear Steve, thank you so much for your comments, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for letting us know about the gate latch - I will check & rectify. Using the conservatory does work well to give you a separate area to sit and relax, but as with all conservatories, it is difficult to keep cool on these hot summer days, especially if it has been closed up for a few days. With regards to storage, we do have a built-in wardrobe in the bedroom which has plenty of space to store bags – we’ll also have a look to see if we can add additional cupboard space in the kitchen. We would love to welcome you back in the future, Tina. Property Owner

  • "A lovely, cosy little cottage, very clean and welcoming."

In the write up about the cottage it quotes - Settle down at the dining table ready to tuck in, or venture out to the enclosed garden and base yourself amongst the shrubbery as you toast to a memorable retreat; treat yourself to a long soak or warm shower as the dishwasher takes care of your dirty dishes, and spend some extra time completing your skincare routine before winding down in the lovely double bedroom. Although no dishwasher was listed in the kitchen equipment we were further teased to have 2 x dishwasher tablets put out for us! We never did find the dishwasher. Problems with the TV only managed to get BBC iplayer, we don’t go on holiday to watch TV but couldn’t get the other channels quoted in the cottage handbook. Internet was slow or non existent at times but appreciate this maybe the location. Would recommend and the little outside patio is a real sun trap and quiet.

Hi Karen, thank you very much for your feedback. We are glad you found the cottage to be welcoming and that you enjoyed the patio area. I am sorry to hear you were disappointed by the lack of dishwasher, this was an error in the advert that we did notice and it was updated on the dreams website. It appears it wasn’t corrected on all booking sites but this has now been corrected. We have updated the property handbook to make it clear that the brand new smart tv can access all tv channels through the digital apps. We hope to welcome you again in the future. • "Apple tree cottage was clean and had everything we needed."

Lounge is in a conservatory which made it very hot and uncomfortable, there is a fan which helps a little, couldn’t open windows. Also fencing is not secure in garden, our dog managed to find her way into next doors garden.

Hi Janette, Thank you very much for taking the time to provide feedback. We are glad you found Apple Tree Cottage clean & had everything you needed. Using the conservatory as a lounge works well to give additional space and as with all conservatories will warm up in the nice weather, however we appreciate your comment and will ensure we add an additional fan for the comfort of guests. We are surprised you couldn’t open the windows, so will ensure they are thoroughly checked and rectified accordingly. Since we have taken ownership of Apple Tree Cottage, we have decorated throughout, added new furniture & installed additional fencing & a new gate to create a totally secure garden area (or so we thought !). As our first guest with a dog, it would be great if you could let us know how you think it may have found its way to next door so that we can address it. Thanks again for taking the time to review Apple Tree Cottage, your comments help us to continue to improve it for future guests. We hope to welcome you again in the future.
