Close to the charming town of Daliburgh on South Uist in the Outer Hebrides is this charming holiday cottage, Fuidagh.
Perfect for families and couples travelling together, Fuidagh has everything you could possibly need for a family holiday to remember.
The first thing that strikes the visitor on walking into Fuidagh are the amazing views from all the windows which helps to create a feeling of light and space.
The amply sized seating area, as well as those gorgeous views and an attractive woodburning stove form an effective focal point to the room and is the ideal place to come together with family and friends and spend some quality time together.
The traditional kitchen/diner is another great area for the family to enjoy being on holiday together.
You can create some fabulous family meals in this sociable and well-equipped kitchen while the family sit around the attractive dining table which overlooks the sea and boasts fabulous ever-changing views.
After an active day, bedtime is something to look forward to at Fuidagh and guests can choose from a super-king-size with stylish en-suite facilities, a king-size and a twin.
All are warm and welcoming and there is simply nowhere nicer to wake up in the morning with those mesmerising Hebridean views.
On sunny days, the gardens at Fuidagh are truly beautiful with lawns for the children to run around in and a picnic bench overlooking the sea is the perfect spot for the grown-ups to chill out, breathe in the invigorating Scottish air and relax into their holiday.
Exploring the Outer Hebrides couldn’t be easier from Fuidagh with long walks along the sandy beaches literally right on the doorstep; or you can hop into the car and drive over the causeway to the Isle of Eriskay which has more stunning scenery, a pub and a restaurant which are worth visiting and is allegedly the place where Bonnie Prince Charlie first stepped on Scottish soil.
From here you can catch a boat over to the Isle of Barra, perfect to visit for a day out.
The towns of Lochboisdale and a little further away, Lochmaddy are both great for a browse with some fantastic shops, galleries, cafes and restaurants all showcasing the best of the islands’ local culture and the ideal place to pick up a gift to take home as a memento of your holiday.
Sail from Mallaig to Lochboisdale or from Uig to Lochmaddy to reach the property.

Daliburgh is a town on South Uist in the Outer Hebrides and is known for being a crofting town. There is a memorial here to commemorate the life and works of Donald Allan MacDonald, a Gaelic poet who lived in Daliburgh in the mid 20th century. It is a great base from which to explore a fantastic selection of activities from fishing and walking to diving and birdwatching. The nearby Askernish Golf Course is always popular and was originally designed by ‘Old’ Tom Morris and is popular with golfers keen to test themselves on this challenging course. Dining options include fish and chips from the Burnside Chip Shop or for something a little more fancy dine in at the Borrodale Hotel. While you are in Daliburgh you can stock up on supplies at the supermarket and there is also a number of other shops including gifts shops. A short distance from Daliburgh is the fascinating Kildonan Museum and the birthplace of Flora MacDonald as well as a host of fabulous beaches just waiting to be discovered.
