  • "What a gem of a property!"

Well-maintained, everything you could need for a stay and lovely and warm. It was spotlessly clean and the location was beautiful. I’ll miss opening the curtains to the views of the cloud on the valley below. Family hired the lodge next door and there was a gate between the two lodges - perfect for larger family groups if you can book the two. We’ll definitely be back!!!

  • "Lovely peaceful comfortable lodge, read a previous review about kettle full of limescale, when you look it up it’s salt residue not lime scale as the water at the property has borehole water, it came off with a gentle rub, other than that very well equipped, home from home, weeds on slabs around hot tub need a pull up but as it’s in the middle of very rural country side it’s to be expected."

Hopefully will return as we love this area.

  • "Cabin was great and comfortable, very good facilities."

Location was ideal for us and owner was lovely and informative of any issues. However, we were originally taking our pets as cabin was advertised with secure garden but we have terrier dogs and didn't find the garden that secure, perfect without pets for us. I did notice that general cleanliness was fine but the kettle was full of limescale and we couldn't use it, everything else was generally fine. Hot tub was great but the jets didn't work that well and the patio area needed a jet wash and tidy up. On the sykes app, the whole place appeared in better condition than what we saw when we arrived and we paid alot of money for our stay. I would recommend the cabin as a holiday and would go again if the things mentioned were done, I would definitely more than recommend

The remote setting suited us and the accommodation lends itself well to games night (cards and Jenga) in the dinning alcove, followed by a dip in the hot tub watching the bats and and stars. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Loved the hot tub. The dogs loved the enclosed garden. Only thing to mention is the longer grass/nettles around the edge of the patio and rear garden could have been cut back.

We had an amazing time, the property had a very warm, welcoming feel. The only negative was the outside light not working, for evening dips in the hot tub but I know the owner was intending on fixing it asap. The owner also very kindly, went above and beyond and returned our daughter's school book to us through the post. We are very happy customers, who would highly recommend pen y clawdd cottage.

  • "When we got there the hot tub wasn’t working but the owner was super friendly and got it working for us after consulting the manual."

The neighbours next door were extremely loud and disrespectful but that was nobody’s fault. The lodge is very much in the middle of nowhere and the local village which is about ten minutes drive away is very dead. Our child got bored quite a lot. There was no plug for the bath but this was no big deal as there was a shower in the downstairs bedroom. The lodge itself was very well equipped but considering it’s such a drive to the nearest supermarket, if I was being picky I’d say bigger fridge freezers would be a better option. It was a lovely warm lodge though and a great break away and the owner is a really delightful person - really friendly and a pleasure to deal with. I’d possibly come back for a weekend stay we just felt a week was a bit too long for us.

  • "Such a lovely peaceful place."

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cabin is great it has everything you need for a great weekend away. Only comment is that the hot tub wasn’t hot enough for our first night so we couldn’t make use of that on our first evening and the beds are quite small. Other than that we absolutely loved it and have already recommended to friends. Fantastic place if you have dogs, they are safe secure and stunning walks really close by.
