Kitchen was well equipped. The children really enjoyed the sweets and snacks that were left, some milk and bread or more practical items would have been nice.

  • "The house had many positive aspects."

It was incredibly spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and clean, comfortable beds. However, several areas needed attention. For example, the staircase spindles, skirting boards, and en suite bathroom were quite dusty. Additionally, the radiator and area around the toilet needed cleaning, and the cabinet in the bathroom was rusty inside, making it unusable. The wardrobe in the adjoining room had a musty odour, making it unsuitable for hanging clothes. Lastly, the front garden needed tidying up,

  • "This is a perfect house, really homely with beautiful quality furnishings and equipped to a very high standard."

The view and sunsets from the picture lounge window are stunning. We were a group of eight adults and there was plenty room to dine and socialise together. Communication from the owner was excellent too and we were made to feel so welcome. There are some beautiful personal touches including information upon the history of the house in a really helpful information file. In terms of location, it is perfect for a very short walk into Keswick. We were always able to find a parking spot close by too. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

The dishwasher didn' t actually clean anything and we had to rewash by hand and then not use - the utility cupboard with the w/m and tumble dryer was very unclean / hadn't been cleaned for some time - again we didn't use as the dryer is too high to reach ... the bathrooms ' grouting all very grubby around showers and baths - also the skirting boards were very dusty .

  • "Lovely property, second time we have stayed here."

Owner should know that one of the garden benches was rotten in one corner and broken, a liability waiting to happen also, two of the double beds only had mattress protectors on one half of the bed. None of these issues spoiled our visit and we would recommend to anyone.

The owner Sheryl contacted us before travelling to ensure we had all we needed. The house is beautiful, very clean and extremely comfortable, the cooking/serving eating and drinking facilities are plentiful and perfect. We wanted for nothing at all. We were greeted by a beautiful Christmas hamper which was a lovely surprise and definitely very welcoming. We would definitely recommend this cottage to families or groups of friends.

It worked perfectly for us with 6 adults and one 12 year old and was great being so close to Keswick Town. Plenty of hot water for the rain showers and deep luxury bath. Bedding and mattresses of good quality . Well equipped kitchen making cooking a pleasure with the top notch appliances. Great views too. We wanted to book for Christmas 2023 but was a bit too high for us compared to others but no doubt will return one day.

Great shame as house has huge potential but for the cost for a week it would have been nice to have been clean, bedding fitted etc.

  • "We had a really lovely stay at Thirty Blencathra Street."

There were five of us (plus dog) and we found the facilities were ideal: plenty of bathrooms, comfy bedrooms and lots of plates, glasses, mugs, etc. The dining space was great for sociable meals and the lovely kitchen was well equipped for cooking - as well as being light and airy. We loved the upstairs living room with its plentiful sofas and chairs, and amazing views of Skiddaw and Latrigg (both of which were scaled by various members of our group!) We also appreciated the heating - was chilly outside, even in September! The whole house has been renovated really well while also keeping its character. The location was perfect for us: we parked the cars and didn't use them again as there are so many walks from the doorstep plus all the shops, cafes and restaurants in Keswick itself. One of my favourite features was being able to pop out to the ice-cream parlour after dinner! Must also say how helpful Sheryl (the owner) was - great communication and made us feel welcome and that we could report any issues easily. Very much hope to come back soon!

Kitchen well supplied with utensils, crockery etc. Largest set of games I've seen in a holiday home, and good set of books. Clearly a lot of thought and care put into preparing the home. Minor maintenance points - radiator in the bathroom (the one with bath and shower) was leaking very slightly near the thermostatic valve - A ceiling recessed lamp at the very top of the stairs was faulty (flashing) - Shower in main bathroom wasn't draining very well. But these were very minor issues - it's a great house!
