  • "Stayed for a week, apartment was exactly as what was to be expected!"

Very clean and had those extra touches to make it feel like a home from home! Grounds were beautiful and stunning views, my eldest loved the binoculars! Only thing I would say is that the radiators were set to a max of 19-20 degrees which we felt at times was a little on the cooler side especially with a 2 yr old and for the time of year! Would have been nice to have given it a blast then maintained at a lower temp!

  • "Having stayed at this property before, we booked again and it doesn’t disappoint, apart from a few issues which need looking at."

We did raise these issues with sykes, during our stay, which are things which need fixing or looking into: Loose Rubber surround on oven, Suspected loose seal on living room window due to flies filling the space between & a few flies found in carpet in bedroom(twin bed room), smelly fridge when opening it (not clean), a few utensils in drawer hadn’t been cleaned properly and stashed back in drawer, not sure if bed springs on other bed (double) had gone?? Issues raised to Sykes customer support - x2 calls ‘received’ from Sykes - no follow up, whilst staying at the property.

Good afternoon and thank you for your feedback. We were alarmed to hear that there were a few issues which you raised with Sykes, as we were not made aware of them. Although we generally stay ourselves at the property at least once a month, we rely on guest feedback to make us and Sykes/Lakelovers aware of any problems. Lakelovers have now visited the property and investigated the issues raised. The rubber surround on the oven is being replaced. The cleaner has been made aware of your comments regarding the fridge and drawer utensils. Regarding the flies - we understand that a number of Lakelovers properties are experiencing this issue just now which we understand is due to warm temperatures and not loose window seals. We could ask contractors to fumigate, but as this involves chemical agents which we prefer to avoid, as the problem appears to be relatively low level, and as we are assured it is a widespread natural phenomenon which should pass shortly, we would prefer to keep this under review. The cleaner will of course remove any flies found during cleaning. Regarding the bed - as I have confirmed, we stay at the property at least once a month and use both beds. On our last stay which was just before yours, there did not appear to be any problems and Lakelovers investigation did not find any broken springs but we will of course keep this under review. The mattresses are relatively new and were John Lewis top of the range when purchased. Thank you again for your feedback which helps us to keep standards high, although on this occasion Sykes communication was not what it should be - something which we have stressed to them must not happen again. I can see you have booked again to stay at the Mulberry and I am confident you will find it up to the standards which you have come to expect. Kind Regards Property Owner

  • "Absolutely wonderful flat on the first floor."

Fully equipped with washer and dryer plus my favourite a lakeland dryer. Everything was perfect and spot on. My only suggestions which would be a nice touch would be a little welcome pack of milk and biscuits and tea, etc as it is lovely to have a brew before going shopping. It would also benefit the flat if you provided a shower squeegee for us to keep the bathrooms clean. About a mile away to the pub which was too far for us but we loved how quiet it was. Thank you we had an amazing week.

Thank you for your lovely feedback and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at the Mulberry. Thank you also for your constructive feedback which we always welcome. We are staying at the apartment this weekend and are bringing a shower squeegee with us to leave there. We have also been thinking about how best to provide a welcome pack for guests and hope to have this in place very soon. Property Owner

It really feels like a home from home with plenty of space and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is well stocked and has modern appliances and the bathrooms are a high standard. The views are stunning and wonderfully quiet location with only a 5 minute drive to Windermere. My only suggestion would be a WiFi booster in the main bedroom as it can drop quite a lot, but overall a wonderful stay again

Thank you for your lovely feedback for the Mulberry We will install a WiFi booster in the main bedroom which I trust will improve this issue. Kind Regards Property Owner

Breathtaking views from large windows spanning the entire lounge and kitchen area giving such an open space feel. Modern bathrooms with high quality fittings. A well kept property with all the essentials provided. Even though this is a dog friendly property (which we like as we do have a dog) you wouldn’t know. No smell, everything exceptionally clean and tidy. Location is a short drive away (5min) from Windermere although you could walk in about 15/20mins. Very well recommended.

  • "The property in general was great."

Very clean with all the bells and whistles. Agree with some of the reviews to make it an excellent experience: 1. Mattresses are on the soft side, although they seem new. 2. It would have been nice to be greeted with a minimal basket of goodies: fruit/cookies/milk 3. Climbing into and out the bath was a problem for guests with a back problem. A safety handrail would help in general to avoid slippage and fall. Otherwise, would love to come back again !

Well equipped and tastefully decorated with relaxing views through the amazing lounge window. Ideally situated for exploring the Lakes and great to have Windermere within walking distance. Only improvement we would suggest is to the instructions on finding the property which are difficult to follow when arriving after dark; the property is 2 miles after Ings village, not just over 1 mile, and there are lots of dips and climbs!

The only reason we’ve reduced the feedback score was due to the quality of the mattresses in both beds. They were very lumpy and you feel the contents of them when sleeping. Also the mattress protectors were grey and soiled (marked). Other than this we had a lovely stay at Mulberry, Applethwaite Hall and would consider rebooking in the future.

Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry that the beds were not to your liking. They are John Lewis premium quality, as we wanted them to be comfortable for our guests and also for ourselves, on our frequent visits to the apartment. I am surprised that the mattress protectors were unsatisfactory, as they have been laundered within the last month, but we have asked the housekeeper to visit in order to inspect and address any issues. Hello there. Thank you for your feedback which we always welcome. This was a surprise to us as you are the first guest since we started letting the Mulberry who has commented that the beds are too soft. Beds are a very subjective and important issue, because of which we took great care over the selection of the mattresses, eventually picking them from the John Lewis premium range with a medium firmness.
