"Hadrian's View is in a stunning location, literally a couple of hundred metres from Hadrians Wall."
It commands outstanding and glorious views of the surrounding countryside and must be wonderful in summer. Unfortunately the weather was against us and the winding roads on the approach to Banks from Brampton mean that driving with care is a must! Even with very wet weather the views were amazing. We found the kitchen to be very cold and did not realise that there was a heater there!
It would be good to point this out to winter visitors. Otherwise the accommodation is very beautiful and roomy. We had a little trouble finding the property in the dark, and more detailed instructions on how to find the property would be helpful - though Banks is a small hamlet and it is not possible to really get lost. Lanercost Priory is very close. I cannot imagine a better location for a stay in Cumbria near to "the Wall" - wonderful!
The lady owner provided a lovely plate of home made jam and cream scones, a bottle of white wine and shortbread biscuits on our arrival - the scones in particular were delicious! Though we were not on holiday we enjoyed our stay at Hadrian's View and would highly recommend the property to anyone who appreciates the beautiful scenery of Hadrian's Wall country!

"The property was full of character with amazing views."
It’s located in a very picturesque village but within a few miles of Brampton which is an interesting town for a day’s exploring, plus of course all the local Roman sites are within easy reach. Our host made us feel very welcome. All in all a great few days

"We stayed for a week over Christmas and had an amazing time."
Elizabeth and David are lovely hosts its definitely home from home. They left lovely gifts of fresh scones, fizz, shortbread and a little gift under the Christmas tree. The cottage is beautiful and clean and has everything you need for a perfect stay the log fire made it really cosy and there was plenty of logs and coal. The views from the cottage are beautiful we will definitely return. Zoe and Steve

"Lovely property and very nice landlady."
Garden isn't completely dog proof as dogs can exit via the drive. The property is generally excellent. Nice garden. Fantastic views. Nice and warm in the winter complete with a real fire.

Spent one week with 3 young kids & a dog and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
Excellent stunning setting and a great place for some amazing walks close by.

It is ideally placed for exploring Hadrian’s Wall and there was nothing better after a day’s walking than coming back to the open fire and the comfy sofas. Elizabeth was an excellent host and the welcome surprise of scones, wine and biscuits was very much appreciated. Highly recommend!

"Really nice, well equipped character property."
Great rural location with super views and nice walks from front door. As stated by others, nice welcome from owners with homemade scones and bottle wine in fridge. Quality smart TV in lounge which is great for evenings and wet days. Really good internet for such a remote location - made the grandchildren happy! Overall highly recommended and would book again.

"The cottage is absolutely charming, the views stunning and everything you could need was there ready."
Elizabeth the owner was so friendly and welcoming and the fresh scones were a lovely touch. The town of Brampton was only a 10 minute drive with a good selection of shops and takeaways and there are plenty of village pubs in the local area if you fancy a meal out in the evening. My whole family loved our week here, it was a perfect staycation.

"The property is fantastic, so clean, well equipped and had everything we needed."
The views are superb across the hills and open countryside. The real fire is such a bonus which we made the most of each night. As there were only 2 of us, we only used the double room, but the bed and bedding were so comfortable and we slept so well. Booking and access to the property was so easy and efficient and the owner was on hand for any queries. Loved the welcome pack which was gratefully received. Would definitely recommend staying at the property.

Everything you need provided.Beautiful views over the valley .Very friendly and helpful owner lives next door .Lovely open fire with plenty fuel provided .No light pollution so great for star gazing .Very close to Hadrian's walk and a Roman fort.

We have booked again for April, there is so much to do around the area, the talking Tarn is a great place to visit.
From this location you are so close to Hadrian's Wall and walks around this area are great

"February half term 2018."
I went as a family holiday. The cottage was very comfortable. Everything you could ask for. It was peaceful. The kids enjoyed the walking. We walked in to town long walk but nice. we also went in to Carlisle and Newcastle.The owner next door was very helpful. Would love to go back one day.
