  • "The lodge was a lovely place for us to enjoy spending time with family and grandkids, large, comfortable & well equipped with everything you need and the added bonus of 2 en-suites."

The owners went above and beyond when through no fault of their own we had no gas on New Years Eve (blame lies at the feet of Pure Leisure) they drove a long distance late in the evening to make sure we had extra heaters and hot water bottles and got the problem sorted out the following morning. The lodge was in a nice quiet spot overlooking the lake. I would have no hesitation to book again should we ever need larger accommodation.

  • "The cottage is nice with a lake view."

The listing advertises swimming but this is not noted as an additional charge and this is very expensive. The cottage would benefit therefore with a hot tub for the price we paid. The site is next to the M6 so the traffic noise is high. The master bedroom window could do with looking at as the noise in the morning woke me and also allows that mild damp smell some cabin type holiday cottages have. Kitchen facilities all good, beds fairly comfy, 3 ensuite useful if a family of 6 staying. Hosts good at responding to queries.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately we don’t get any passes for the Swimming Pool, Gym, Beauty Salon or Restaurant as they are all owned by Pure Leisure and all come as an extra charge. We would love a hot tub and keep asking the site but apparently the site have the maximum amount on the Park that can run from the electricity supply. We hope you enjoyed the view of the lake from the decking instead though? Property Owner

We will definitely use it again when we come to see family it is well situated for Morecambe and the lakes there is plenty to do for everyone. Only recommendation is could do with some manuals to work oven microwave and washing machine as not used to those models

Thank you for your positive feedback We are glad you enjoyed your stay We will look at printing out some information on how to use the oven and microwave as we didn’t get them from previous owners. I will also print the washing machine manual. Hope to see you again soon Property Owner

The lodge is beautiful and the area. The only negative is on arrival we noticed a smell in the lounge area, we thought it was a smell of urine. Other than that the lodge is all but perfect

Thank you for your feedback. I haven’t noticed the smell myself and I’m not sure what it could have been but very sorry about that. The floors do get mopped every clean and carpets get professionally cleaned twice a year. Hope to see you again Property Owner

Lodge was excellent , they only had the lodge 2 years but need more cleaning, windows dirty, outside veranda and chairs were full of leaves and cobwebs Surprised there was no welcome pack, ( we stayed at the Lancaster lodge the week before no comparison )

I am very surprised by this comment especially as I had to make a trip over an hour each way on the Saturday afternoon as you had some how got the tv stuck on mute and couldn’t seem to see the plug directly behind the tv. i just unplugged and plugged back in and it worked perfectly! Whilst I was leaving I notice you had a puppy pad at the back door for you 6yr old dog and when we came back the carpet stank horrendous of urine!! You are very lucky that I did not charge you for the professional carpet clean I had to have because of this A welcome pack was left with flannel , sponge, dishwasher tablets, washing up brush and bin bags as I put it on the sink myself. Also extra soap antibacterial spray ect under the sink. The outside windows are over due a clean but our window cleaner has been ill and we have been on holiday so very sorry about that. Unfortunately every clean the outside lodge and furniture get brushed down but as it’s a wooden lodge near the lake it attracts spiders and they constantly make webs and the trees seem to blow leaves on decking and furniture Property Owner

  • "This is our fourth stay on the site."

This property is absolutely beautiful inside and out. The location is so serene with the lake view and it's relaxing to sit and just watch or listen to the birds and watch the many Rabbits. The property had everything you could possibly need and more. Two ensuite bathrooms, very comfortable beds and two walk in showers. The children's room had bunk beds so its ideal for families. We would highly recommend it. Our dog and me and my dad didn't want to leave. The owners are lovely and nothing is too much trouble and we want to come back again.thank you

  • "We enjoyed our stay at the lodge."

The only things that would have made it better for us:- 1. A soap tray in the en-suite shower. 2. Toilet brushes in all the bathrooms. 3. Instructions on how to use the ovens. 4. We had to clean the outside furniture before we could use it. That said we have booked again for next year.

We will look into soap trays and see what we can do. We will try and print off how to use the oven and maybe leave instructions in a drawer for guest to see? We do not have toilet brushes as we find them very unhygienic for a rental with other peoples faeces on for the next guests to use, but we do have bleach under the sinks in the bathrooms. We do brush the outside furniture at every clean along with the outside of the lodge but the trees seem to blow all the leaves on the decking and furniture and as the lodge is wooden and near the lake it seems to attract spiders on the outside that are constantly making webs. Hope you enjoy your stay next year and please let me know if I can help with anything else? Thanks Joanne and Rob Property Owner

Site was very clean and looked well maintained. My grandson loved the swimming which you no longer need to book. We ate a few times in the restaurant where the food was really nice and good selection. You need to book this and we seen lots of people getting turned away for either a table or takeaway which is such a shame. There was staffing issues to but the ones on duty were excellent and were always polite and courteous despite being run off their feet. There isn’t much in the site to do, but we knew this before we went and planned our days out with the site and enjoyed the great weather. The lodge we had was beautiful and well equipped. Location was superb just at the lake. Would definitely return.

  • "We were on site for three days and on three occasions we tried to book a table or access the takeaway service from your on site restaurant."

We were only successful on one occasion in relation to a takeaway , on that occasion our request was met with a less than positive attitude. At the time we felt that the manner of the staff made us feel that they were doing us a favour rather than trying to assist customers. On Wednesday at 4,30 in the afternoon we again tried to place a takeaway order, only to be told they weren’t open for food and once again met with a less than positive attitude and told that all takeaway slots had been filled. The quality of the food we did order was very good and we enjoyed our stay on your site. The only negative regarding our stay was the difficulty in accessing restaurant facilities.

  • "The cleanliness of the lodge fell well short of expectations."

The furniture on the decking was strewn all over and the decking definitely needed some cleaning up as it was caked in old cobwebs and debris. In the lodge we moved one of the settees to hoover behind and found it thick with dog hairs so it had never been moved in a long time. We had a dog with us for 3 days but he was light coloured so not his hair. We had to clean the toilets due to where the seat/lid being stained. Also the skirting boards needed cleaning and the windows were filthy so we could tell that lodge hadn't been cleaned properly in a long time.On the last day we stripped the beds as requested and found one of the beds did not have a mattress protector on it, we found it in a drawer. The mattress was stained quite badly. Luckily the weather was hot so I didn't get into the bed and slept on top of it. We put the mattress protector on but the mattress definitely could do with replacing. We have been to this holiday village before but will not take the risk and return again. This is the first time a Sykes property has not come up to expectations but in the current climate with covid it should have exceeded our expectations.
