Hot tub was fabulous and our teenage boys enjoyed the Astro turf and goal. The kitchen had lovely big pots that made catering for the whole family easy especially as there were two super efficient ovens. The bedrooms were very spacious with the majority ensuite. Owner, Phil was approachable, friendly and kind. An excellent place for family fun.

  • "Lovely well equipped property."

Owners met and showed us how to work kitchen equipment etc. The hot tub and games table a lovely addition. Not very child friendly, the enclosed area was not well enclosed the gate did not lock the wall slabs needed fixing so quite dangerous. The other outside area is quite open. Inside the owners had put on the fire and a child burnt their hand on top of it, could have done with a fire guard. The gap in the bottom of the balcony railing is too big for small children, risk of falling through, there were areas that I don’t think would comply with building regs. The steps from the small seating area into the kitchen are not wide enough and 3 of our sober party had accidents falling down these. The first step on the staircase is too high we had a few trips on that. The property is clean but would benefit from a deep clean our en-suite smelt of urine and the stone flooring needs a scrub.

  • "We stayed here in February and although the house looked initially beautiful, it didn't really suit a mixed family."

The pool table is on a landing in the middle of all the bedrooms so extremely noisy when we had people retiring to bed early. Also it was on a balcony and there were too occasions where the ball rolled off and down to people sitting in the living room nearly missing a serious accident. The pool table collapsed twice it was only balanced on ledges not fixed properly. Also we could not drink the water at all, the kettle inside was black and badly needed descaling and the water tasted really odd. Every single one of us finished up with an really bad stomach which lasted a minimum of a week, including a pregnant member of our party and a baby, the baby had to see a doctor twice after our visit. On the plus side the beds were extremely comfy and the bathroom facilities were amazing.

Barn was fantastic, as large family , plenty of large bedrooms and showers and baths. The beds are so so comfortable. Lovely fluffy quilts and bedding. Not slept like that for so long, and with it being so dark and quiet was so relaxing. Showers powerful and lots of hot water , lovely soak in bath. Plenty of games. Games table. Cooking utensils etc. . Barn very remote but in perfect location to travel to so many places like the lakes Blackpool. Etc. All only being at the most around hour away. Williamson park is a must. Phil was so helpful and around somewhere if needed him. It’ was so nice to cosy up with the wood burner when we returned home after our adventures everyday. We had Halloween party For the children whilst we were there and all had great time. It was funny watching the chickens strutting by tantalising the dogs. The only thing I would say is watch the cooker hood extractor as we all banged head on this during week We will definitely be returning again.

The road up to the house was in terrible state, with huge pot holes but I assume that has nothing to do with the owners. The main point was it was not suitable for disabled and I found it hard to negotiate stairs as there were no handrails for me to hold on to so I tried to stay in the same place and not to walk about due to the fear of falling down the steps. Apart from that the house was so nice and my family were the rest of the party thought the same and are already talking about hiring the property again. Everything was clean, well equipped with everything that we needed and the quality of the fixtures and fittings along with all the kitchen utensils was 1st class. The owners were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. They were very friendly, polite and easy to talk to. For anyone wanted to stay here I would rate it 10/10 as long as you had no walking disabilities. A really lovely property well worth the stay. Thank you

Had a brilliant time & the property catered for all - our age group was 23mths - 69 years old. Phil & Claire were great - at hand if you needed anything but left us to it otherwise. The pictures on the website do not do the property justice, it is amazing, spacious & very well equipped. We all enjoyed playing with the board games - there is a cupboard full. The pool/table tennis/air hockey table was enjoyed by all & a few tournaments played. I do think it is worth mentioning that all upstairs 4 double bedrooms are all en-suite & the 2 bedrooms downstairs share a bathroom. There is also a separate W.C just off the entrance. I have not seen a property with the same amenities. We had some lovely family meals sat around the large dining table - the kitchen has everything you could think of from washing up liquid to wash powder to herbs/spices. The separate wine cooler was a big thumbs up too. Really looking forward to returning again next year. There are some lovely places to visit & we had some cracking cycle rides (hills not for the faint hearted). Would recommend to all our family & friends.
