  • "A lovely comfortable cottage, a real "home from home" ."

We very much enjoyed our stay, lovely comfy bed, good woodburner, kitchen very well equipped with everything we needed. Even facilities for washing down dirty dogs! The only thing we would have liked to be different, was that there was no heating on when we arrived at 8pm on a chilly March evening. It would have been more welcoming to arrive at a warm house. However, once it had warmed up, the cottage was lovely and warm and cosy!

Everything you could need is already there and the little touches like there being cooking oil, dishwasher tablets, handwash are all such a help when you're self-catering. The living room is lovely and comfortable with plenty of seating. Bedrooms and bathroom are lovely too. The cottage is really well-located, with Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale, Windermere and Carnforth all in easy reach. It's perfect for dog owners with an enclosed garden and loads of walks nearby.

A true quaint cottage experience... fully equipped with everything you need... a home from home. Deb as thought of everything you could possibly need down to clogs at the back door for taking your dog in the garden.. Tons of literature about the lakes and places to visit... even walking sticks in every size to ease the journey. Binoculars to view the wildlife and board games for fun evenings everything covered. Log burner a God send for cozy nights.... and oh that fantastic shower!! What a brilliant location we visited Morecambe, Ingleton, Arnside, Kendal, Kirby lonsdale within 30 mins travel time. I highly recommended Rosemary cottage.. one downside

It has all the facilities you could ask for and the owner has great communication and it was clear that she really cares about her guests. The furniture was very comfy and the fire made the rainy days extra cosy. The garden was great for our dog. It was fully enclosed with lots of areas to explore. The cottage is in a great location- 30ish minutes to Windermere and then about an hour to Coniston and Ullswater- and walkable to pubs. The kitchen has absolutely everything you need, there is sky TV and wifi and good phone signal. It is perfectly located near good road links but in the country side. It takes 10 minis to drive to Kirby Lonsdale, 20 mins to Windermere and 25 to ingleton so there is the whole of the lake district and the Yorkshire dales to explore. On the immediate doorstep is a beautiful canal and Farleton Fell for walks from the door . Good shops and restaurants are 10 mins away. We found this house and area by accident but are really glad we did and will definitely return.

It is charming on the outside and welcoming on the inside. Well furnished with all the homely touches you could ask for, including books, DVD's, a games console with games, jigsaws and information leaflets. The kitchen is well laid out and has everything you'd ever need. The bedrooms are well appointed with very comfortable beds. The modern bathroom is great with a massive shower and plenty of space. The finishing touch is the lovely garden with a table and chairs, plus a swing seat, for enjoying the views over the adjoining fields while taking in the sun. We also used the large garden shed for storing our mountain bikes, which was very useful. Overall, Rosemary Cottage was a joy to stay in and was a key element in a very enjoyable two week holiday. We would certainly recommend it and feel sure we'll be back.
