"We loved our stay."
The location is perfect for short distance travels around the Lake District. It’s also very quiet and secluded so our dog didn’t hear one firework the whole week. The accommodation is simple clean and comfortable with all we needed for a perfect stay. Our only downside - the bed was a little soft for our liking. However, not enough to detract us from signing up for next year. :-)

Overall very comfortable accommodation and in a beautiful location, will most certainly return.

"Once again this are 2nd stay on this complex."
It is in a great position. Good for Hawkshead and travelling around the area. Lots of walks and a lake on your doorstep. First time in Buttermere which is a lovely apartment for two people. Clean and cosy. Everything is catered for. The let down for us this time was that it stated there was a DVD player, but there was not. We brought some films to play of an evening but there was no player. Disappointing. But over all we had a great stay there. I am sure we will be returning in the future. Many Thanks for a great week.

"I really enjoyed my stay at Buttermere with my dogs."
The only thing that I was mindful of was the light colored carpets, due to wet muddy paws. I did have a blanket that I placed over the carpet to protect it. Everything I needed was there and I will be making another booking for later in the year. Oh I met your cleaning team upon arrival, lovely bunch and please thank them for making everything so very lovely.

"We had a thoroughly marvellous time at Buttermere."
Everything that we could of wished for. Ideal accomodation, beautiful countryside location, excellent walks to be explored, peace and quiet with plenty of time to reflect. Plus lots of different towns a short drive away. Claire, and the rest of the Customer Care Team of the Estate were, when asked, extremely helpful and caring. We would not hesitate to recommend this cottage for a vacation.

"We were so looking forward to checking into our accommodation."
We arrived at 4.45pm which is 15 minutes after check in is allowed only to find our accommodation in an absolute mess and that it still hadn’t been cleaned. We eventually found someone onsite to clean but had to wait outside for another 39 minutes. Very disappointing. The bathroom was poorly fitted and after every shower, the floor would flood. There was mould in the shower. Not worth the money and would not recommend.

"We throughly enjoy our annual stay in “Buttermere “."
The accommodation is very comfortable and the scenery is wonderful all around. On the hottest day ever recorded, we were able to keep cool inside. There was no freezer in the apartment this year, which was a big drawback and the washing machine is across the courtyard at the back so it’s difficult to gauge when it’s not in use.
We hope to be back next year. A beautiful situation.

"The location was really lovely, beautiful and quiet."
We found the accommodation to be very comfortable, would definitely recommend. If I had a criticism it is only that the saucepans were a bit small - not really big enough to cook pasta for two. The area is a bit of an EV charging point desert - we managed to charge on a 3-point plug through the bedroom window. However, on the day we left we found out that the Estate was about to install EV chargers. Hurrah!!

"Fantastic two week stay in Buttermere - we loved the cottage, location and views."
Contrary to what we had read before we arrived, there was no noise from upstairs, our neighbours were all delightful and there were never any parking issues eg in front of windows etc. We had to swap our vacuum cleaner for one that worked - can't leave the cottage as it was when we arrived with no means of cleaning! Clearer information regarding the freezer arrangements in advance and a site map - dustbins, laundry, freezers etc on arrival would have been helpful.

"The property is quite tired, cracked walls, dirty interior decoration, water stained bathroom ceiling, window fixings loose and difficult to open & close correctly, front door has to be gently kicked open and slammed to close, I think the bathroom above is leaking into the ceiling."
A lack of a freezer was a disappointment, I'm sure it was probably noted in the advertisement but I missed it and wasted a lot of money shopping in Kendal to then arrive and realise there was no freezer. A local farm provided milk every day, which whilst a nice touch I couldn't drink a pint of milk in a day and ended up pouring 3 bottles of milk down the drain to return the bottles and pay the final bill, happy to support local small businesses but hate to waste 'food'.
Parking was also an issue, as there are no clearly defined parking spaces tempers were becoming frayed with irrational parking by other guests who decided to park, having reversed in against the building, right outside my living room and bedroom windows.
The 'garden' space outside and access to the lake were a nice feature and part of the reason why I opted to stay with two large dogs in tow.
There was a lack of any tourist information at the property, the only guide in the property was from 2017. The property is well placed for Ambleside, windermere, Grassmere and Keswick - Kendal, I grew up in the region and know the area very well but a stranger would have been lost. There are two decent local pubs within a 5 and ten minute walk but there is clearly no co-operation with local businesses, no advertisements or menus etc, very disappointing.
Complete lack of lighting in the external parking area, whilst timed lighting is available at the front door there is nothing in the 'car park' or into the gardens and down to the lake.
The TV was tiny estimated 19- 20 inch, very dated sky box with limited access to programmes, I appreciate you don't go to the lakes on holiday to sit in doors watching TV but its still nice to have the news on in the morning or evenings and be able to see the TV! Cleaning products inside the property were also non existent, washing liquid and a quarter of a cleaning cloth aren't really ideal to keep the property clean throughout the stay, surely in the owners best interest to provide a small range of cleaning products to keep the place looking and smelling nice.
I don't wish to criticise, the dogs and I had a very pleasant week, the property is just a little tired and grey making you just want to get up and leave for the day as soon as possible, delaying the return for as long as possible.

"The cottage was satisfactory and clean however the problem was the noise."
This was from the apartment directly above, which must have been a young family. You could here everything including people walking around drawers and doors constantly opening and closing and there TV this went on right up in until 00:30 when it finally stopped but only to be woken by the alarm in the room above at 07:00 which could be heard in our room and then at 07:10 and 07:20 as they kept pressing the snooze. Something needs to be done to help sound proofing as this is not pleasant if you are looking for a peaceful retreat.

Although the accommodation was clean and tidy our stay was ruined by the noise of other guests in the same building. Unfortunately we left a day early as we were not experiencing the quiet peaceful break we had intended.

We like the position, near Hawkshead, from where it is easy to travel to the Lakes or the coast.
The accommodation is comfortable and spotless. We love it. I did miss the freezer compartment in the fridge, though, and the shower door stuck so I had to call for help!
I would rather have a washing machine than a dishwasher because the machines in the laundry were always.in use. These are minor issues. We have booked for next year and can’t wait to be back.

"The property was in a beautiful location with lovely views."
It was just marred by a few things. The lack of maintenance was one. The curtain rail in the living room was hanging off, the shower door had dropped making it very difficult to open and close and the extractor fan in the bathroom didn’t work. The property could do with a good clean and decorating, it is quite rundown.
Our main gripe was that in the email it mentioned that the water supply was not mains but fed from the lake. I telephoned the number in the book to ask about drinking the water. Left a message as requested but no one ever got back to me. As a consequence we had to buy water for drinking as we didn’t want to be ill whilst away. If you are going to make a statement about the water supply then please advise whether it has been adequately treated for safe drinking. It only needs a little thought to save a lot of bother.
I hope the comments will be considered and acted upon.
We did however enjoy our holiday despite these problems but would be very wary of booking with you again.

"I like your rules for owners with dogs."
(Not leaving them alone in the cottage, Keeping them on lead, and Clearing up after them) It makes the holiday great for dog owners and non dog owners because other people's dogs don't become a nuisance. There was a guy in another apartment who didn't follow the rules and his dog was a nuisance. I'm only mentioning it because I don't want you to think it was my dogs.
The apartment and the holiday were wonderful. Thank you. When you publish my feed back there is no need to mention the other guy with his dog because that was not your fault and in every way it was a great holiday.
