  • "We booked our stay from the Friday but due to work commitments we only arrived on the Saturday teatime, the lodge is in a great location with beautiful views especially from the bedroom balcony as you can see the lake and within the walking distance to bowness, however upon entering the lodge, it has a rather strange smell, the lodge inside could do with a good clean and freshen up, there are cobwebs and spiders in every room, the bedrooms are cluttered with ornaments and artificial flowers which is just overwhelming."

There is an overwhelming amount of furniture in all of the rooms including the bedrooms and the main bedroom has a very strong smell which is rather unpleasant. I didn’t particularly enjoy staying in the lodge as it just didn’t feel clean. The kitchen is full of dinnerware and utensils, far too many if I’m honest. We visit the lakes each year but as we were with family we decided to have a change and came across Storrs Lodge, unfortunately I couldn’t wait to leave and we actually checked out a day earlier. Personally I wouldn’t stay at Storrs Lodge again, which is a shame as the exterior is pretty.

  • "Great property for 7 of us across three generations plus one pooch."

The property was spacious and really comfortable with good parking for our three cars and for us was an excellent location with a 15 minute walk to the marina and a further 15 to 20 minutes into Bowness. The views are great and luckily the forecast rain didn't arrive so we able to sit out in the sun trap patio at the front of the house. Immediate area is quiet and peaceful - car is essential. Just a couple of comments which are in the spirit of making the experience at Storrs even better. Towels - a bit thin and small and not enough bath towels for all of us. General waste is collected every other week and outside bin was full when we arrived - it would be good to have a collection dates listed in the property information. It would also be good to have a sketch of the garden that belongs to the property as we were unsure whether the lawned area behind the property's fenced rear garden could be used. These are not complaints but meant to be helpful. Overall a really great stay.

  • "The property was first class in a beautiful location with magnificent views."

We were disappointed by lack of basic toiletries, ( only one main towel in each room for two people, very little toilet paper and soap). The only thing that we were unhappy about was we felt the owner was checking up on our family. She arrived just as we were moving in and used the excuse she needed to water a couple of plants which were in the garden although the gardener was there when we arrived. She was also there with a Gardener and the cleaner about 15 mins before the leaving time whilst we were packing our cars to leave the property.. It felt we were being inspected.
