Also plus point the 555 bus to Ambleside / Keswick stops outside the door. One or two casserole dishes for oven would be useful (just a minor point)

  • "We absolutely loved this holiday property!"

It is the nicest holiday property we have rented in the UK. The owner has thought of everything you could possibly want. The decor is right out of a magazine. The countryside view through the kitchen and large patio is lovely. It is spotlessly clean. We have also stayed at the Gil Cottage next door, another property of the owners. It too was spectacular. Leasgil is an ideal location if you are exploring the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. No doubt we will come back again and again.

  • "Wow, what a beautiful place."

Both the kids and us absolutely loved staying here, it was as lovely as the pictures show. The only reason we I haven’t scored it 5 stars across the board was because due to internet issues during our stay which meant we had no internet the entire time. However the owners were trying to resolve this and had engineers out to try and fix, it just proved to be a trickier problem that hoped! Also the bedrooms upstairs were really warm constantly due to us being lucky enough to have gorgeous weather, an addition of some fans or something would have been nice to help keep things feeling a little bit fresher when trying to sleep. Neither of these would stop us staying here again though or recommending it to others (in fact we have already recommended to friends!).

Everything you need for a self catering stay is available and the situation near Kendal and the M6 makes it great for visiting the Lakes. Only issue was the wi-fi which was very hit and miss

  • "Lovely well maintained & immaculate property."

It has a lovely atmosphere which helped us to have a very chilled holiday. The one niggle were the tvs remote controls which didn't work correctly (even after buying new batteries), but everything else was perfect. The underfloor heating makes it nice and warm and cosy too. The village it's in is lovely and there's the added bonus of having Booth's store close by. I would definitely recommend Laundry House. There's nice walks with your pooch close by too.

The house is well equipped with everything you need to self cater, the beds are very comfortable and the bed linen is superb. Also in a good situation to visit all the lakes and other visitor attractions, Levens Hall is just down the road, beautiful house and gardens. Liz and Brian keep this property immaculate and we will certainly visit again

  • "Laundry cottage is beautiful, the bathrooms and kitchen worked exceptionally well."

We found the cottage clean and instructions very good. The bedding and towels were good quality and the provision of cleaning equipment thoughtful. The garden is fully enclosed and the house was easily navigated by my relatives in their 80s Parking was good. Location for places to go was very good. The neighbours lovely. We had a few issues, one of the TVs froze but the owner replied promptly and I was able to carry out the remedy. On the Wednesday of our stay there was a local power cut after which the internet never came back on. Someone tried to boot it back up. The smoke alarm also seemed to be affected but we only realised that on the last night. For a holiday cottage it would be great to have some garden furniture for relaxing. At the moment there is a dining table, and I am sure that as the property develops there will be additions. We didn’t like the numerous signs dotted around to stop activity such as lighting candles, we assumed there had abeen a few bad experiences. Thought about how that could be more discreet or polite for future guests would be an idea. The welcome basket was nice, the coffee realy good. It would be great to have a collection of leaflets on where to go. We didn’t do much but Sizbergh castle was great for dogs and the farm shop wonderful jam.

Intimidating to read that all breakages require to be notified to owner and they will inform you how much money to leave.... Let's face it accidents happen. Not enough cutlery or crockery, especially if 6 guests staying... We found we needed dishwasher on daily... Not environmentally friendly. Lack of drying facilities. • "We had a lovely stay, even though the weather was horrific!"

As we spent a lot of time inside, we felt the house was a bit cold and found it difficult to increase the underfloor heating. We did use the fire and paid for logs and kindling as an extra. We would also have added a mat inside the front and side doors so that as you entered the property, you could wipe your feet when the weather was wet.

We would of been happy to come and help increase the heating, we only live in the village and also leave our telephone number on many item of information in the cottage, we do say we are happy to come and help at anytime. Liz the owner Property Owner

The reviews were all 100% correct. Cottage was extremely clean, new and had all the appliances and nice touches you expect from a luxury accommodation. communication was fluid, we normally texted to ensure cottage was ready and any other queries. We met Liz during our holiday as needed the heating turned down, she was extremely accommodating and suggested other places to go. The cottage has underfloor heating, extremely comfy beds and linen, all the cutlery and utensils needed to cook food. We found it extremely functional for 6 of us. The bathrooms were plentiful and was decorated tastefully with clean lines and gloss. I would recommend to stayed as long as you can respect the effort put into the cottage. The expectation is that you keep the place clean and at a high standard.

About the location

MILNTHORPE

Arnside 3 miles; Silverdale 6 miles; Kendal 7 miles.

Milnthorpe, once an important medieval market town, is located in the South Lakes between Kendal and Carnforth, just a few miles from the seaside village of Arnside. Reminders of the town's history can still be found today amongst the narrow lanes and historic buildings, which speak of a time when a coach and four was more common than a four-wheel drive. Set in lovely rolling countryside, the area has much to offer, with the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis offering a tropical hall and butterfly house. Dallam Tower and Levens Hall (historic and beautiful stately homes with their deer parks, topiary and ornamental gardens) provide a great day out for visitors. Leighton Hall, Sizergh Castle, the Great Lakes Aquarium, Windermere and Grizedale Forest are also all within easy reach and well worth a visit. From stunning limestone pavements and wonderful woodland walks to beaches and scenic coastal paths, there really is something for everyone.
