  • "An excellent base from which to explore Northumberland, the Durham Dales and maybe further afield."

A comfortable cottage of character with helpful owners who live adjacent. Close to the fine towns of Hexham & Corbridge. Good value for money.

Well equipped but would benefit from a small freezer and dishwasher. Weather was glorious but still needed log fire in the evening. The most comfortable bed ever in the beautiful bedroom. Our main issue was parking. The entrance gate is very narrow and I damaged my brand new car

The cottage had everything we needed & the location was perfect being away from town, but only a short drive away. Owners next door were really friendly & helpful plus we very much appreciated the welcome pack. As a couple of reviews have mentioned, an upgraded TV with Netflix etc would be a good addition as we were only able to get 2 channels on the existing one and in the end used our IPad instead. However this is a very minor issue in what otherwise was a delightful stay,

Hi Christine and Nicola, I'm glad you and your daughter enjoyed your welcome basket and Easter Eggs, and your walks down in the forest with your dogs. I am sorry about the freezer situation, but in the description of our cottage it does only say 'fridge' (with ice compartment). We have found having a double bed has been ok with previous guests, and have just recently replaced it with the new feature double bed - photographs and description in the property details describe this also. I had read that there are some WiFi issues which didn’t concern us too much, but it did mean that watching any TV was challenging as it just wouldn’t stream properly. There were also a few bits that we didn’t bring as we’d assumed they might be at the cottage like shower gel, and milk but we were able to go out and get those and to be fair they had left a couple of small bottles of Prosecco and some dog treats for buddy. We’ll definitely be back.
