"A small and very simple cottage but it suited me and I was very happy there."
The location is excellent for walking.
The drive off the road to the house is not too bad but best to park at the bottom and check before taking a car with low ground clearance up the track. This is mentioned in the pre-arrival notes so shouldn't be a problem.

"We have had a marvellous, restful and relaxing break."
In a lovely comfortable place. On reading some previous reviews we took our own garden chairs, excellent decision. And yes the table was wobbly, we kept a foot on it and had no problem with meals, for playing games we put a puzzle holder we brought on top of the table. So we had no issues at all. The history is interesting, so is the village, and you are right on the Pennine way, There are some interesting books and the garden is delightful and kept quite natural. Highly recommended.

"Really enjoyed our week's stay in this property in delightful surroundings."
Amazing place to stay with many walks from the doorstep.
Could do with some storage in bedroom as only bedside tables for clothes and hangers behind door.
In the listing could mention the track leading to property is not suitable for all vehicles. Called Ben the owner to make sure we actually had to drive up the narrow, stony Pennine Way track.
Overall we recommend this property and thank Ben for his hospitality.

"Although the place did sleep 2 it was very cramped, with no where comfortable to sit within the cottage"
The annex is advertised as not a large space but does contain a sofa and two wicker arm chairs.

"Property is in a great location in a quiet village."
One aspect which was not advertised however was the garden area - truly a beautiful and welcomed surprise. The host was great. The bad side is the internet, although depending on your age it might not be an issue, but it is definitely hit and miss with connectivity issues throughout the day.
I would come back here, but likely never will as I tend to holiday at new places every year. It really was a nice stay though.

"Had a lovely few days here."
It’s as described and perfect for a couple. Everything we needed. Perfect location. right on the route for Yorkshire three peaks. The owner recommended some lovely walks which we wouldn’t have found otherwise. The lambs looking through our bedroom window every evening was one of our highlights. Only warning... watch your exhaust as you come through the gate. Lovely stay. Already planning to return next year.

"The small accomodation was very clean and well stocked."
The large bed was very comfortable and warm,...soft and warm dawn quilt and pillows, nicely heated. Kitchen was well stocked, and most of all, the owner next door, extremly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable who were always available with advise if needed but left me alone to enjoy otherwise.
One extremly attractive feature, the accomodation is located almost on the beginning of one of the Penyghent climb paths and less than 5 min walk from the well known meeting points of Horton in Ribblesdale, that is the National Car park and Penyghent Cafe(closed at the moment).
With the owners beautifull Bantam hens and sometimes next door farmers sheep roaming around, it felt like I was living on a farm.

"The owner was very welcoming and it was a good base to explore the Dales."
The accommodation had everything we needed, a very comfortable bed, shower room with complimentary toiletries. A small dining kitchen, well equipped, the slight drawback was the only comfortable seating along with the TV was in the bedroom.
There were two pubs within easy walking distance both serving food.

"This is a beautiful little gem of a property."
It's perfectly located with easy access into hills. The only noise locally is the sheep and the song birds.
The hosts are delightful and welcoming. And on a particularly warm day they ensured extra fan's were available so we could keep cool, a small touch that was greatly appreciated.
The kitchen is well stocked with cooling utensils and the bottle of bubbly waiting in the fridge was appreciated.
We enjoyed our stay and would readily recommend this home for other guests looking for a relaxed few days away with a gorgeous view. A great escape!

"The cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped with a lovely garden which you can use."
The host was very welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area. The cottage is in a lovely location with walking straight from the door onto the pennine way plus many other enjoyable walks from the village. The station in the village allows you to travel the picturesque Settle to Carlisle line (well worth the trip) we had a great holiday. Two pubs in the village but the nearest shops are 6 miles away. The only negative for us was turning into the drive from the narrow lane, the drive is higher than the lane(more than 12 inches) and so scraped the underside of our car getting onto it and again when we drove off it. Fortunately we didn't use the car whilst there and so this only happened twice but if you needed to keep going in and out it could be more of a problem. I would add our car is an estate type so it may not be as bad for shorter wheel based cars but would be if your car is low profile.

"This was a wonderful place to stay."
It is perfectly placed for walking and we travelled there by train which we really recommend. We loved Settle (the nearest town) which is one train stop and also a short taxi ride away - recommend the great Victoria Hall (world's oldest running music hall).
The accommodation is well described and the kitchen has great facilities. Lovely views and warm and comfortable.
We enjoyed meeting the owners and seeing some of his parents art from when this was their home.

"Cottage is in a great place for exploring the dales."
It was very clean & warm.A really peaceful & relazing area with great views. A welcome pack of essentials would have been appreciated as the shop is 6 miles away. (Toilet rolls & washing up liquid perhaps.) General area around the cottage could do with some tidying up especially as there are no lights in the area. More hooks would be good especially on back of bathroom door.

"This annex is in a beautiful private position 100 yrs up a track out of the village."
You can walk the three Yorkshire peaks from the door. Choice of two pubs,we liked both. Only one thing I missed was a hook on the pole to open the velux window above the bed because the weather was so good and I like a window open at night. Settle is an excellent town to visit and Malham village nearby also a must. Walks of all distances in beautiful country. Loved this idyllic annex, perfect.
