  • "A super cottage right in the centre of the lovely town of Middleton in Teesdale."

We were very comfortable, with everything we needed, the house having being renovated to a high spec. Middleton is a really friendly place, an attractive centre with a few shops, nice pubs and cafes and it’s a good base for exploring around. The nearby countryside is beautiful with walks from the door. It is also close to such places as Bowes Museum, Raby Castle, High Force waterfall, Barnard Castle. All in all a fab holiday, we will return.

  • "Lovely cottage with well thought out facilities and very stylish."

Very handy location in the village. Parking can be tricky on the road as village gets busy but we did manage ok. Great walks, fabulous little shops and cafes. A very nice cottage which we would love to visit again.

Thank you so much for your feedback, we’re so glad you enjoyed your stay in the village! Parking is usually ok on the high street or the road beside the co-op but can sometimes get a little busy later in to the evening. We very much look forward to welcoming you again in the future! Pub serving food, cafe's, Co-op, all very close by. A very attractive village with lots of walks from the door.

  • "Chapel Cottage is comfortable and attractive with an exceptionally well-equipped kitchen."

The bedrooms were lovely and we slept very well in an extremely comfortable bed. Being in the centre of the village and having a good Co-op open every day until 10 meant that we could be very relaxed about the catering, as did the proximity of some excellent places to eat. The owners were very pleasant and helpful and we really appreciated the welcome pack they provided.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. I have to say we hardly go anywhere else for shopping other than the co-op as it has absolutely everything we need. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful, clean cottage with a very well equipped kitchen and other homely additions like stocked book shelf, family games etc."

Modern and tastefully decorated yet keeping the homely feel of a period cottage. Placed centrally in the village for walking distant to shop and local pubs. A couple of doors from the Co-Op which was handy. Bedrooms and bedding immaculate and beds comfortable. A lovely touch was the bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival along with a packet of coffee placed with the coffee machine for us to enjoy fresh coffee each morning. Overall we really enjoyed a lovely week at Chapel Cottage and we had the bonus of being blessed by beautiful weather during our stay.

I'm so happy to hear you had beautiful weather for your holiday - there really is nowhere better to spend a sunny day. Thank you for the lovely comments about the cottage :) Property Owner

  • "A lovely cottage that had everything we needed."

Very clean and all appliances easy to use. The beds were comfy and the twin beds were adult size not just put in for children. Bowls and towels for the dog was helpful and of course we devoured the welcome pack. Lots to do with a young family in the area. We really appreciated the Co op being so near and open for so long. Would happily book again.

Very clean. An exceptional amount of kitchen equipment, cutlery, crockery, utensils etc. just one small comment we would have liked a kitchen roll.

Thank you for your kind feedback! I've had so many bad experiences trying to cook a Sunday dinner in a holiday house I wanted to make sure we had absolutely everything you could need. Property Owner

  • "Perfect holiday home for a family break."

Plenty to do in local area. House had everything we needed and more, beds super comfortable. Only niggle would be lack of seating in living room for number of people the house sleeps.

Thank you for your feedback, we're so happy you enjoyed your stay. We are planning to add seating to the living room, meanwhile there are occasional chairs that can be moved as necessary. Property Owner

  • "Living room seating could potentially be a challenge if all four bedrooms are in use, but Chapel Cottage is a lovely, extremely well equipped cottage in a central village location."

Middleton in Teesdale has a range of shops & cafes, a couple of decent pus, a sports bar and a couple of takeaway food places, all within a short walk of the cottage. We very much enjoyed our stay in the cottage & will undoubtedly return.

Thank you so much for your kind feedback. We had considered that additional seating may be required so it is important to us to have received this feedback and we will look to add extra permanent seating as well as occasional seating that can be moved around. Property Owner

There’s no onsite parking but plenty of room on the road in front of the house. There are a couple of places to eat for an evening meal within an 15 minute walk and a lovely cafe (Samuel James) within a 5 minute walk for a super breakfast. Would definitely recommend!

Thank you for choosing our cottage and for your kind feedback. Samuel James is our favourite breakfast/brunch/lunch/cake place too! They also have a lovely Deli selection if you ever find yourself back in Middleton-in-Teesdale. Property Owner

Very comfortable beds and fantastic bathroom, great secure outdoor space front and rear for the dog. Provided with a very generous welcome pack which we really appreciated.
