  • "Absolutely beautiful cottage, well equipped and kept to a very high standard!"

The garden area was gorgeous and so quiet and peaceful. The only issues we had were the flies and the single bed was a bit uncomfortable. We couldn't have asked for nicer hosts - Neil and Michelle are genuinely lovely people. We were a little apprehensive about staying in a cottage where the owners are so close by, but our concerns were for nothing. We had our own space and privacy, but with the knowledge the owners were there if we needed them. Perfect. Thank you for the wine and biscuits too! I wish we'd had more time to say hello to the cute mini sheep next door as they were absolutely adorable and so friendly. We forgot to tell you that the extractor fan in the main bathroom didn't seem to be working. Just so you're aware of it. We had a lovely stay and hope to be back at some point in the future. Thank you for everything Lisa, Sean & Patch :)

Cosy cottage ideal to chill out in front of log burner fire. All you need for a short break is in place and hosts very friendly should need anything. Good selection of restaurants and pubs within a 5/6 mile range with local pub 10 minute walk although it's on country road. All in all no complaints and would certainly make a return visit.

Great outside space for our little dog Jess to explore. Neil and Michelle where on hand if we needed anything and we enjoyed the bottle of wine and local brownies they left us as a little welcome gift. Plenty of wood on hand for the log burner which was lovely. Even without the log burner the cottage was quite warm as the radiators hear up very quickly too! Great location and only 45 minutes from Windamere, Bowness, Ambleside and Keswick. The local Co-op 10 minute drive away was well stocked and handy for bits and bobs! Overall a great stay despite the very wet weather but that didn't dampen anything!!

As soon as we pulled up to the cottage, we knew we had booked the right place. The place was every bit as good as it looked on the website. Spotlessly clean inside, with a fully equipped open plan kitchen (even a slow cooker - which we did use). Plenty of cutlery and crockery and glasses of various types. Stocked Tea, Coffee and Sugar and even a separate coffee machine with coffee pouches.. A fantastic touch was a lovely Lemon Cake and a bottle of Wine , which we enjoyed immensely! The bedrooms were nicely decorated and beds comfy. The garden was fantastic, unfortunately the weather didn't give us much chance to use it, but in summer, it would be a fantastic place just to sit back and chill. I can't recommend this place highly enough and would be more than happy to recommend it to anybody. We will definitely be back!

I think what is most outstanding is the quality of the finish and the cleanliness of the accommodation. It’s so frustrating that some dog friendly holiday homes are below standard and it was such a relief to find that Sunny Hill was spotless particularly as our holiday was doubling up as a Honeymoon!! The owners are extremely approachable and friendly and made us feel really welcome. The quality of the fixtures and fittings is high here and everything you could possibly need has been provided. I knew from the moment we arrived that this was a special place. It's situated in the quietest of loations and has amazing views. And as soon as we opened the front door, we knew we'd found a real gem. You walk into a lovely "cottagy" open plan kitchen, diner and living room which has patio doors that open up into the large garden area. We sat out in the garden and all we could hear were the birds and sheep. Bliss!! The 2 bedrooms are a good size with ample wardrobe room for all your bits and pieces. And there is a lovely en-suite with double shower and main bathroom with a bath. But you know what made this visit super special? The owners, Neil and Michelle. They thought of everything and more. I'd let them know it was my husband's big birthday, and they'd bought him a cake, a bottle of prosecco chilling in the fridge and sprinkled confetti on the dining room table where they placed the balloons I'd had delivered to their house. How lovely is that? They came to check we were ok once we had settled in and were on hand to give suggestions on where to go and what to do. And we met their lovely dogs who were just beautiful. This was our first time staying in a cottage, we normally stay in hotels or B&Bs. I have to say, I'm a convert. We have been truly spoilt on our first cottage stay. We will definitely be back!
