  • "Absolutely amazing lodge."

Spotlessly clean and felt like luxury. Right on the edge of the lake too. Hottub was lovely and the Lodge itself had everything you could think of that you would need. Highly recommend.

  • "Gerrida Lodge, is a first class Lodge in a lovely location adjacent to Pine Lake, where swans, ducks, cormorants and other wildlife make relaxing on the decking area all the more interesting."

The Lodge consists of three bedrooms, one with an ensuite bathroom complete with walk-in shower, a separate bathroom with an enormous bath. The kitchen/dining area is equipped with all the utensils/equipment needed for families to prepare and cook meals if required. There is also two large comfortable sofas adjacent to the dining area with a large television fixed to the wall, with log effect fire fixed below it. We enjoyed our stay there (despite the weather not being too good) and would certainly recommend and consider returning again.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. Always makes everything worth while when my guests have a fantastic holiday. Hope you revisit again. Tracey Property Owner

  • "In the listing it said it had a BBQ however we couldn't find one."

There was nothing in the information book (most of it was out dated (during Covid times) so could do with being updated. We couldn't get hold of the owner as they were not answering there phone. I also sent a message asking where it was but as of yet (3 days later) still no reply. Could not get a disposable BBQ from anywhere. All the meat that I took with me for the BBQ had to be brought back home as a result. Very disappointing. Glad I didn't have any more serious issues that needed to be dealt with whilst we were there. Place was lovely though. And views was amazing. Just disappointing we could not make contact with the owners

Really sorry you could not reach me but I have had no missed calls on my phone at all. In the email that I send out to my guests, I have added that there is no BBQ . We have removed it as it wasn't being cleaned and maintained. Sorry for any issues this may have caused but Sykes have been notified now as well. The BBQ has been removed last year and we have never had any queries regarding this before Tracey Property Owner

  • "The property was even better than the pictures."

More spacious, more luxurious, the view of the lake was stunning. It is a shame that it is such a long way away for us or we would definitely make a lot more trips here. The one tiny comment would be that as we were there for a week it would have been none for the hot tub to have had a mid-point cleaning check, as by the end of the holiday the water could really have done with more chlorine. But this is a fantastic lodge, great location, fabulous to get to the lakes. Other people have said about the M6 noise yes you can hear it but it really was not that loud and would really bother you if you are used to slipping in a silent rural area. Definitely recommend to stay here.

Thank you so much for your feedback and glad you had a lovely stay. I really appreciate your feedback about the M6 as we have never really taken any notice of it and it isn’t that noisey. The hot tub gets dipped and chlorine checked daily really early mornings as they appreciate guests not wanting a man walking around the outside of the lodge during the day. If the water gets dirty or drops due to usage which is absolutely fine you can always give me a call and I can arrange for the water to be changed. I am only a phone call away to sort anything you need whilst staying at the lodge. Hope you visit again soon Tracey Property Owner

  • "We absolutely loved our stay in this fantastically well equipped, super clean & comfortable lodge."

It was pure luxury throughout. The owner is terrific, a lovely lady, happy to help & sort any issues, just a phone call away. The lodge & gorgeous hot tub are south facing, so benefit from sunshine for the entire day. It is set on a quiet avenue away from the main park, offering both privacy and seclusion. The lake view is simply breathtaking, don’t be fooled by the map view of a little pond, it is huge & gorgeous, glittering in the sunshine, we could never tire of it. There are an abundance of birds and wildlife. We were blessed with visits from otters, ducks, geese, moorhens, cormorants, terns & a delightful resident swan family with 3 cygnets who adopted us with hourly visits during our stay. ❤️ South Lakeland is an excellent location to explore Lancashire, Cumbria & the Lakes. You can be on Windermere in just 25 minutes. We genuinely had to tear ourselves away from this beautiful lodge, it is by far the best we have ever stayed in & cannot wait to return.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. It was lovely meeting you both. Nothing is ever to much trouble for our guests. Hope to see you again very soon Tracey Property Owner

  • "When we initially arrived at the lodge it looked immaculate and had a lovely cosy atmosphere."

However not long after we all noticed there were cobwebs and dust around the rooms and a lot of the dishes we had to rewash, this could be due to previous people staying not washing dishes properly. The atmosphere at the lodge is definitely nice and cosy but I think some things should be stated on the listing such as hot tub time limits, we were not aware that the hot tub could only be used between 10am and 10pm; I’ve stayed at many places and never had this time limit on a hot tub before and if I knew there was one I probably wouldn’t have booked. We also noticed some nosey neighbours whilst being in the hot tub which was quite off putting. The view of the lake was really beautiful as well as some of the walks around the area. Over all it was a lovely lodge but due to some of the drawbacks I won’t be booking here again.

Thank you for your review. I clean the lodge myself and doubt very much there would have been any dust or cobwebs. It was empty for a couple of days before you arrived and as it is situated in the lakes we can get a few cobwebs from time to time. The lodge is always kept immaculate. The hot tub is a guideline which the site has requested but as it is very secluded down there there isn’t a time restriction as such. We just ask that the noise is kept to a minimum at certain times of the night. Unfortunately I cannot comment on other lodges Property Owner

  • "The lodge is beautiful and the view is great, the only negative we had was the road noise!"

Being so close to the M6 it’s not just a country lane you’re right next to, it’s a major motorway. And it was a real shame as spoilt sitting outside a little, and it was loud at night trying to sleep. I think this should be noted on the booking. Facilities on site were lovely, we used the pool and the bar/restaurant. Food was ok. Kids liked the little beach area. And beer garden over looking the lake was lovely. Overall, lodge spot on and facilities spot on, but the motorway noise really let it down for us.

Thank you for your feedback. I always respond to all my guests feedback. We have never really had feedback from any of our guests regarding any noise. . We have stayed at our lodge in the summer when we have all the windows open at night and the bifold doors on the decking and have never had any issue . I would not of thought in April any windows would have been open and you certainly would not hear any noise with all the windows and doors closed.. Always good to hear that guests enjoyed the site and the views from the lodge Tracey Property Owner

  • "The lodge was very comfortable."

There were a few areas of the lodge that had been missed during cleaning, a lot of cobwebs in some corners especially the main bathroom. Also it seemed that the hot tub wasn't maintained at all during our stay even though it said in the manual it would checked daily. We had to fill it ourselves. The lodge is in a beautiful location although it would help if in directions you directed people to walk by reception and leisure centre and go through that barrier next to the recycling area. The lodge itself was great, nice and comfy, although would be put off coming again due to the early check out time, it ate into our last day as we had to spend some time getting packed up.

Thank you so much for your feedback. It is very out of the ordinary that the lodge was immaculate. I normally do my own cleans but unfortunately i was away. The lady that cleans for me is very thorough. All previous guests have never had any issue finding the lodge by my direction but will look into this. The early checkout time is because we like to give all our guests a immaculate lodge and the size of the lodge we like to have enough time to do this. Property Owner

We were a bit unlucky with the weather, very strong winds coming off the lake so we didn’t use the deck much but would be beautiful to sit out on a good day watching the water activities. Lodge has tea, coffee, little biscuits all provided. There was fairy liquid, dishwasher tablets, kitchen foil, salt, pepper so no need to take these things with you. The Wi-Fi was really good which pleased the kids. There are plenty of towels for the hot tub, would have been handy to have a dryer to dry them and swimming costumes off. Very dog friendly, with a towel, treats, bowls etc

The views were stunning from the decking. The sofas were slightly too small for 6 people to sit comfortably for an evening. The extra touches are very thoughtful with a nice bottle of wine there for you on arrival. Very dog friendly with toys, treats and blankets provided for them. The only downside was It would have been nice to have been advised there was no iron before we arrived so we could have brought our own with us. Overall an excellent lodge and definitely recommend to anyone wanting a holiday in the lakes.

Thank you so much for spending the time to write it. Unfortunately there isn't anything I can do about the size of the setter's. But it is the first time anyone has ever mentioned this. I always send out a email to guest in advance and if there is anything they would like to know I enclose my contact details. We have had a few accidents with providing an Iron with the Iron being dropped onto the carpets etc and as you can imagine they are not cheap to replace. Property Owner

In fact the pictures when I looked before booking are the main thing that made us book but when we arrived the site and the lodge were far better than we could have imagined. I thought that we may have to travel some distance to see the sights. I have never been to the lakes before and could not have wished to be in a better location. It was literally a half hour drive to Windermere and less than an hour to Ullswater and the views we encountered while getting to these places were absolutely stunning and phenomenal. The restaurant and bar on site were brilliant and the staff were so friendly at all times. Food was exceptional too. The supermarkets were only a couple of miles away and Tesco did deliver on site. I will definitely be coming back with my family in the very near future and have already recommended to other family and friends. All instructions were easy to follow about the facilities including the hot tub. It’s lovely that it’s dog friendly too Tha 9am check out time is slightly brutal. Most other cottages we’ve rented are 10am. It was very clean, warm, with high quality furniture and fixings and with a beautiful view of the lake. The provision of slippers and lovely fluffy towels was excellent. Just a few things to note was that there was no high chair or cot available. This was then difficult to manage feeding for a 7 month old. We didn’t realise you had to pay extra to use any part of the leisure club and it was quite expensive so this should be more transparent. Finally the lodge is very close to the motorway (you can see it as you arrive). We were aware of the traffic noise through the night particularly on the master bedroom. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Hi Laura. Really glad you enjoyed your stay. We can provide a travel cot and high chair at a small additional cost. At the time of booking if you put a request in we will make sure these are available for our guests. I will make sure this is added to our email and with Sykes. Unfortunately most parks do charge for using there facilities which we have no control over. The lodge is beautiful, very clean and modern and looking over the lake. Tracey the owner has thought of all the little details, there’s a basket with dog bits in (treats, toys, poo bags) dog bowls, a basket with games to play and separate towels to use for the hot tub. The only thing I could suggest is hooks in the bathrooms to hang towers on as the heated towel rails got full quickly but that’s my personal preference. The space is great, with a nice size kitchen to cook in. The kids loved that there was a telly in each room, so they could both watch what they wanted. The site that the lodge is on is nice and clean, has a lovely restaurant and you can get a family day pass for £20 to go in the pool and use the gym.
