• "Very disappointed with the TV could only get programs on catch-up."

  For order people it needed another hand rail on the stairs. Didn't say there was no outside space. Very difficult dropping off and loading car up. All in all a very nice cottage.

  We are glad that you conclude very nice cottage and that we were able to come an put the TV on the channel that you wanted. We have been able to replace the shower that you broke and as this is a quaint village cottage we do not advertise outside space as you rightly state. • "Lovely, comfortable property."

  All mod cons provided. Evenings were drawing in and heating kicked in to take the chill off. Easy walk into Settle town centre where there are plenty of places to eat and drink

• "1a Lower Croft Street, Settle was a real gem of a find."

  The views are breathtaking with the village centre and the station a few minutes walk away. The cottage is perfect, our favourite of all the holiday homes we’ve stayed at . Very clean, neat and tidy, very comfortable. The owners are lovely, very attentive and approachable. 11/10 !

• "We enjoyed our stay at this cute, cosy and quiet cottage."

  It is well located and within easy walking distance of all Settle has to offer. The furniture and fittings are good quality, the bed is huge and very comfortable. Good Wi-Fi and a bonus to be able to log into our Netflix account. The kitchen is well thought out, has everything you need including a washer/dryer. As the weather was good we sat on one of the benches on the green to enjoy the scenery, we met a few of the neighbours (& their dogs) who were all very friendly and it just made our stay feel even nicer! Thank you for the card and wine, much appreciated

• "This is the second time my brother has stayed here while I’ve been visiting school friends and family in Leeds."

  It is the best cottage Sykes have in the area in our opinion. The position in Settle is amazing, the views are wonderful from the cottage, being only a few minutes from the town centre and train station. The cottage is beautifully furnished, the kitchen has full appliances, the bedroom is a good size with good quality furniture. The bathroom has a lovely corner bath/shower. I have M.S. and access in and out of the cottage was no problem, the short walks are worth every breath, even going up and down hill! In fact breathtaking is a good description of the whole experience. Ian and Victoria are so helpful, and accommodating, providing a great welcome gift and card, making the stays such a pleasure. If we could give them 11/10 we would. Perfect.

• "This is the best of the Skipton/Settle Sykes cottages we have stayed at."

  Clean and tidy and well maintained, very homely and it’s so close for splendid walks. And the magnificent views from the bedroom window are amazing. It is only minutes away from the town centre, with less of the hustle and bustle that Skipton has. Everyone is welcoming and friendly. The perfect base for a great break away. • "We had the most wonderful stay at Lowercroft Cottage."

  It was perfectly situated and close to walks from the doorstep, pubs, cafes, shops. It was a quiet area, and a large comfortable bed. We both slept incredibly well. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to cook. The bottle of wine and lovely card on arrival was a nice touch. We were able to check in early which was a welcome bonus. We will be booking again for next year.

• "Host easy to contact and very obliging."

  Delightful position in Upper Settle, convenient for the town and station. Efficient use of space, huge bed and large bath. Welcome bottle of wine was very pleasant. Feedback to Sykes: Please do not email confirmations and feedback request in the middle of the night!!

• "This little house is charming and has everything needed for a week’s stay in dry weather."

  It is close to walking paths, pubs and shops. The huge bed is blissfully comfy and the well insulated house warm and cosy. The kitchen, equipped with necessary basics, makes eating in possible. We loved it and will hopefully return.

• "Washing up liquid and spare bin liners were needed, but other than that, well equipped relaxing setting."

  Maybe cushions and a throw would add to the cosiness downstairs, and a curtain to block out draughts from front door. It's our second time staying at this cottage, and we hope to visit again, we love it so much. Thank you

• "Cottage was charming and exceeded expectations."

  Met cleaner briefly- a very pleasant woman. Minor problem with parking - arriving weary after drive from Sheffield we encountered elderly neighbour who tried to dissuade us from using only parking space available as it would ‘ spoil her view of the animals’ ( sheep I suppose). Subsequently parking on very narrow road could be tricky but we usually found a space nearby. We did miss a cafetière but I am being picky!thank you for wine .

  Dear John, We are pleased you enjoyed the cottage, parking is tricky in Settle but the cottage is in the best part of the centre for parking and there are no restrictions here (unlike most of the rest) of Settle, the pensioner you refer to thought you were going to leave your vehicle across her living room window and perhaps didn't realise you planned to move it ? • "Lovely property maintained well and had everything we needed, would have liked a broom to sweep floors especially with a doggy."

  A stair gate would have been handy as pets not allowed upstairs but nothing to stop them going upstairs when going to bed. Other than that superb property, there was a lovely welcome card and bottle of wine which was a nice gesture. Thanks would definitely recommend.

• "The cottage is situated in a quite location on the outskirts of Settle, ideal for 2 people and a dog."

  The cottage itself was clean and cosy with a comfortable bed (our only minor gripe, no freezer compartment in the fridge for the G & T ice). Roadside parking for the car was not an issue during our stay. The town centre itself is a short walk away, with plenty of shops, supermarkets and dog friendly places to eat and drinks. We would highly recommend as a place to stay when visiting The Dales. Skipton, Hawes, Malham and Grassington are a scenic short dive away with plenty of walks on the door step.

• "Excellent condition, just a couple of things."

  A lack of a shelf in the bathroom, or hook on back of door. No light bulb in the floor standing lamp in lounge. Loved staying here, and my sister and her friend are booked for later in August, would definitely recommend. Very quiet and peaceful.

• "Beautiful Cottage, furnished to a high standard."

  Great location, central for everything and we didn't have any problems parking the car. Comfy bed, lovely soft 'fluffy' towels. We have been coming to Settle for holidays for a long time, and this cottage suited our needs perfectly. We hope to return in the (not too distant) future - we loved it! Thank you Ian and Victoria. • "The cottage is beautifully appointed, with high quality furnishings and fittings."

  The beds are really comfortable and it is warm and cosy both upstairs and downstairs, with very efficient central heating and log burner. bathroom is great, good sized bath and very warm. The cottage is compact but there is plenty space for two people and a dog. It is just a short, easy walk to the shops shops and cafes in Settle. Situated on The Green, it has lovely views and is so peaceful and relaxing. There are walks from the cottage up onto the fells, and more challenging walks are just a short drive away. Parking is limited on The Green, but there is a big car park just a few minutes away. We felt that this contributed to the peace and quiet as very few cars go past. We can’t wait to come and stay again. The host was most considerate and accommodating. Thank you!

• "This is a really beautiful cottage in a great location."

  The log burner was so cosy and the big bathtub was very welcoming after a long walk. The bed is one of the comfiest we've ever stayed in. Very clean, the kitchen had everything we needed, we will 100% be back!
