  • "Fabulous little cottage in a great location So much thought has gone into the set up, making the most of the space."

It is comfortable, fully equipped and has all the basics you need for self catering. The only issue we found was that the Wi-Fi signal was so poor we could not use it for any of our devices. It did not detract from our stay but if it is of paramount importance, it is worth knowing. Would use it again in a heartbeat

On entering ‘The Mews’ I was very impressed. The accuracy of the listing was perfect. It had everything we could possibly want in there. Even down to dog blankets & towels should we want to use them - which we didn’t, as we had bought our own. The Mews was very clean and homely. I’ve never been to St Anne’s before and was a little concerned. However, driving through I was pleasantly surprised. We hope to return to St Anne’s and be lucky enough to hire out The Mews again.

A person with mobility issues could struggle to get to far side of bed, I was fine with it, and a nice comfy bed when in. Left a note for the host asking to replace an item in the kitchen, wasn't worth a phone call to bother him. Thank you, lovely stay

  • "This was my second stay at Mews Cottage, my husband & I stayed in October 2023 with our dogs."

This time it was a mum/daughter get away with the dogs. It was as remembered very clean & cosy, kitchen well equipped for our needs. There is a throw provided to put on the bed if needed should your dogs go on the bed, we had brought one with us on this occasion & used that to cover the bed. Close to the dog friendly North beach (5mins walk) which the dogs loved. We were lucky enough to be there for the air show which was an added bonus as this wasn’t planned. I have a Qashqai which I could park quite comfortably in the yard. The small enclosed yard is great for the dogs as it is safe & they can’t get out. We were lucky with the weather & only had a couple of rainy days. We had a couple of visits from family over the week & were able to enjoy sitting outside in the yard which is a great sun trap. It is only a 5min walk to the town with all amenities, there are a lot of dog friendly places to eat which is great. Michael is at the other end of the phone if needed. We only had one occasion to contact him just before we left & he responded quickly. We met the lady who cleans the property just before we departed, who is delightful & we had a long chat as we both originate from Manchester. All in all we had a lovely week & will definitely be back! Patricia, Lydia & Pooches

.Ahhh how lovely, this is perfect !!! Easy access via the black gates for our Free Lander to park up, with plenty of space for ourselves & two Cockapoo’s to enjoy the enclosed courtyard. Which looked pretty with filled pots of flowers & shrubs, a comfy bench, a patio table/ chairs. Enjoyed our first morning eating breakfast outside in the sunshine, some afternoons too, was a nice little sun trap so made the most of the outside area when possible over a typical rainy / windy bank holiday. Entering this little gem of a find it felt warm & inviting, very clean with tasteful decor & furnishings throughout with everything provided that you could possibly need for an enjoyable, home from home comfortable stay. Good layout when taking dogs, being able to close off rooms etc. Lots of little extras, appreciated the milk & welcome treats, thank you & a Woof from Nelly & Teddy too. Especially loved the warm glow of the lighting which made relaxing of an evening feel very cosy. The night lights were an excellent idea. Great location & perfect base to explore surrounding areas which we enjoyed doing so on foot & via the frequent bus service. So close to the dog friendly beach with a short walk to a beach cafe which welcomed dogs. Gorgeous Ashton Park to walk around just five minutes away which you pass as you stroll into the busy friendly Town Centre. Enjoyed the walk along the beach front, passing the Pier & the attractions. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Mews Cottage.. even met the lovely lady who prepares the accommodation for guests, taking the opportunity to thank her too. Best wishes, Sandy & Tony.

I felt the bedroom was very small & with a king-size bed my husband who is a small man in stature & weighs 10st 6lbs struggled to get to the other side of the bed. We felt the kitchen could use a wooden spoon. We were very concerned at the lack of a vacuum cleaner. We left yesterday worried that we had not left the cottage in as clean state as we would normally do. Our black dog had shed hair on to the plain gold sitting room rug. Which with out a vacuumed was difficult to get up.

Thank you for your feedback I'm sorry your husband struggled round the bed area The bedroom is a compact cottage room Despite that I decided to put a king size bed in it for extra comfort I totally appreciate you're consideration re hovering up dog hairs I have now put a Gtec hover in the cottage for guests to use if they wish ...and a couple of extra wooden spoons ! Poor WiFi (o2 cellular dongle). Very limited space to walk round the end of the bed. The bed mattress is extremely hard & uncomfortable. The sofa and chair are child sized, not comfortable. Very tired looking. Limited kitchen utensils. The courtyard is not fully secure for small dogs as the rear neighbour-adjoining fence has gaps and there are two aggressive large dogs next door. Overall, the property needs some TLC.

This is a surprising review as Stephen had texted me arrival with the message that this is 'a lovely cottage 'This is only the second season for the Mews Cottage All fixtures and fittings and furniture are new and purchased at considerable expense ....including a top of the range mattress This has been commented on re its comfort by a prievious guest review Oct23 The lounge furniture is of a size for an average adult The chairs are leather and in immaculate condition ...as is the decor of the rooms in general The kitchen is stocked with a full range of utensils ,cutlery ,pans and crockery The rear courtyard is completely secure for all sizes of dogs There is a 6 foot iron gate and brick built rear wall ie no rear fence Our rear neighbour has a small friendly pug When we checked with him re any problems during Stephen stay he informed us he had x2 large aggressive dogs who took exception to his dog The wifi is an O2 hotspot The subsequent guest to Stephen did inform me that the data allowance had run out. I have upgraded our provision to provide guests with unlimited data usuage Had Stephen alerted me re his problem with the Wi-Fi, I would have had the opportunity to gladly remedy the problem for him I -of course-hope and wish my guests to have a comfortable and enjoyable experience in the Mews Cottage It is very disappointing to read such a list of negative comments in terms of a guests perceived experience However it is especially disappointing for a host when a guest to a large extent misrepresents a property that has been furnished and maintained to a high standard I can only refer prospective guests to the highly positive reviews the Mews Cottage has received to date Property Owner

The welcome pack was much appreciated especially as our 2.5 hour journey turned into nearly 6 hours due to issues on the motorway! The courtyard was excellent for our two small dogs once the gates are closed it was very safe for them to potter around. We even managed to sit out one afternoon when my sister in law & hubby came for a quick visit. We parked our car in the courtyard but you can park on Beach Road for free if you want to. Cottage was cosy, and many thanks to the owner for the welcome pack. Only drawback was lack of information. For example, we were asked to put out bins Thursday evening so we put them all out. On leaving Friday morning we noticed it was only the black bin that should've gone out! WiFi was tempremental- some sort of booster box and no instructions on operating , so most of the time it wasn't functional. Oven wasn't working, but no book to write comments in to inform owner ( I messaged him about the WiFi but no acknowledgement, so didnt bother re. oven). Oherwise a lovely stay that I'd recommend. Very dog friendly cottage and area.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that I was unable to respond to your text as my phone was away for repair. There is however, a second contact number in the information book to which we would have responded. The oven is working, the instructions are in the drawer next to the oven. Had you been able to contact me I would have suggested that you switched the WiFi off and on which usually clears any fault. Failing that I would have called round to look and contact the internet provider for you if necessary. Property Owner

The seaside towns of Lytham and St Annes-on-Sea nestle along a picturesque stretch of coastline lined with pretty parks. For many centuries, the economy of this lovely area was dependent entirely on fishing until the beginning the Industrial Revolution, which resulted in the wealthy creating an affluent area, lasting until the present day. A short stroll from the Lytham seafront brings you to leafy Clifton Street, where you’ll find charming boutiques, restaurants and independent shops. Lytham Green, a strip of grass running between the shore and the main coastal road, is a notable landmark, overlooking the River Ribble towards the Welsh Mountains, and home to the restored Windmill and Old Lytham Lifeboat House museum. Those interested in craft ales can take a tour of the Lytham Brewery, whilst walkers and twitchers will adore the rolling sandy dunes of St Annes-on-Sea and the Ribble Estuary providing a safe haven for more than 250,000 migrating birds that return each winter. The area is internationally renowned for golf with four courses to choose from, the most notable being the Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club, one of the host courses for the Open Championship. Traditional seaside pastimes can be enjoyed at St Annes-on-Sea with a pretty pier and charming little beach huts in an array of pastels offering visitors a unique, exciting addition for a day beside the sea. A short walk from the pier brings you to St Annes Square and Wood Street, where you'll find charming coffee shops, tea rooms, restaurants and independent shops. Lovely long strolls, sunny afternoons on the sand or fun-filled frolics in nearby Blackpool, Lytham St Annes is a charming coastal destination with plenty to offer. Boating, cycling, shopping and swimming can all also be enjoyed nearby, along with award-winning restaurants, traditional pubs and wine bars should you fancy celebrating.
