  • "What a lovely cottage in a lovely village."

Spotlessly clean, comfy and with the best ever bed to sink into and sleep soundly, absolutely perfect! There were goodies left for us in welcome, which was a lovely touch. The owners left a file with information and advice for the surrounding area. The nearby pub in the village is superb and we had a couple of meals there. I adored the view in the evening of the church, as we relaxed after our busy days house hunting. We are unlikely to stay again as we will be moving to the area, but will certainly recommend to friends. 10/10 for us, thank you.

Most comfortable bed of all the holiday lets we've stayed in. Loved seeing the sheep from the lounge window. The enclosed garden was fab for the dog and had a nice area to sit out and enjoy the sunshine with a glass of wine.

The hosts decorated the cottage with a Christmas tree and some Christmas items to make us feel at home. They even left a present on the tree for our dog Skye. I can thoroughly recommend this cottage. it is well appointed and recently decorated ideal for a couple or a couple with a child and /or a dog. It has a secure garden for both along with off road parking. Pub with food within 8 minute walk. Ideal for surrounding towns and cities. Very happy to return in the future.

Well but not over equipped with all you could need for a week's stay. Fully dog proof garden. Very dog friendly cottage. Internet worked well. Sofa was fine but someone with mild mobility problems might find getting up tricky. May need replacing soon. We would be very happy to stay there again

About the location

FOLKINGHAM

Sleaford 9.6 miles; Grantham 13.6 miles; Spalding 17.3 miles.

Folkingham is a charming village in Lincolnshire lying between Grantham, Sleaford and Spalding. The village dates all the way back to the Domesday Book of 1086 but was likely established in the 6th century as an Anglo-saxon settlement. The village was previously home to the impressive Folkingham Castle, although the ruins do not remain, the site of them can still be visited. Today the village is home to a local store where visitors can stock up on all of their self-catering essentials and a The New Inn pub. The nearby market town of Grantham is home to the National Trust’s Belton House, a grand 17th-century home with orangery and extensive grounds which you can roam; if you’re lucky you may even spot the resident deer! Alternatively head north to Sleaford which houses the Cogglesford Watermill museum, Navigation House Visitor Centre and the Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum. The village is also encapsulated by the wonderful English countryside where guests can admire rolling fields or visit the Colsterworth Nature Trail or Pickworth Great Wood to experience the great outdoors. Explore all of this and more from Folkingham!
